Belmont, Virginia

The African American Burial Ground is a historic cemetery for the enslaved, located in Ashburn, Virginia, off Harry Byrd Highway (Virginia State Route 7) in Loudoun County, Virginia. Most of the enslaved buried there were from nearby Belmont Plantation. The abandoned site was rediscovered in 2015 by Rev. Michelle Thomas, in 2019 president of the local NAACP chapter. That year, Governor Ralph Northam appointed her to the Commission on African American History Education in the Commonwealth. In 2017 the real estate developer Toll Brothers, which owned the land, donated 2.75 acres (1.11 ha) to a new Loudoun Freedom Center. In 2021, it agreed to donate an additional 4 acres (1.6 ha), which will be used to re-create a schoolhouse and other structures used by enslaved people.There are also to be a columbarium and a scatter garden, where people can scatter ashes of their loved ones. In 2020 Michelle Thomas buried the first free Black in the cemetery: her 16-year-old son, dead of drowning.

Belmont Manor House, formally known as Belmont Plantation, is a two-story, five-part Federal mansion in Loudoun County, Virginia, built between the years of 1799–1802 by Ludwell Lee (1760–1836), son of Richard Henry Lee. The land surrounding the mansion, the Belmont property, was handed down to his first wife (also his first cousin), Flora Lee, from their grandfather, Thomas Lee. Located in the Belmont census-designated place, the Belmont Manor House and property have been owned since 1995 by Toll Brothers, Inc. It uses the Manor House as the clubhouse in a gated golf community. The property and house are listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

The Ashburn Colored School is a former one-room schoolhouse for black students located at 20593 Ashburn Road in Ashburn, Virginia. Constructed in the late 19th century, it was in use until 1958. In the 21st century it has been restored after being dilapidated and vandalized.

Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) is a branch of the Loudoun County, Virginia, United States government, and administers public schools in the county. LCPS's headquarters is located at 21000 Education Court in Ashburn, an unincorporated section of the county.Due to rapid growth in the region, LCPS is one of the fastest-growing school divisions in Virginia and the third largest school division in the state. For the 2019–2020 school year, LCPS educated approximately 84,000 students.

Lansdowne is a census-designated place and planned community located near Leesburg, Virginia, United States. The population as of the 2010 United States Census was 11,253. It is north of State Route 7 and south of the Potomac River. Before the Revolutionary War, the Lee family established Coton Manor here. A section of the Potomac Heritage Trail runs through Lansdowne. It is the home of Inova Loudoun Hospital, the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, Lansdowne Resort, Prison Fellowship, and Lansdowne Woods of Virginia, a gated, age-restricted community. Lansdowne is part of the Washington metropolitan area.

Segra Field is a soccer-specific stadium in Leesburg, Virginia, and the home of Loudoun United FC of the USL Championship and Old Glory DC of Major League Rugby.The stadium is located within Phillip A. Bolen Park, and adjacent to Loudoun Soccer Park. In addition to the stadium, a training facility, and team offices for D.C. United of MLS and youth development academy will be housed there. The project was supposed to be completed in time for the 2019 USL season, but the completion date was moved to August 2019 due to zoning issues.

Ashburn Presbyterian Church is a historic Presbyterian church located in Ashburn, Loudoun County, Virginia. It was built in 1878, and is a one-story, rectangular wood-frame building in the Carpenter Gothic style. The church measures 33 feet wide by 50 feet long, and is topped by a steep gable roof.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

The National Conference Center (The National) is a corporate training facility in Leesburg, Virginia. It hosts over 14,000 individuals per month and comprises 265,000 square feet (24,600 m2) of meeting space. The center contains 250 conference rooms, an athletic facility, and 917 guest rooms. The building was built in 1974 as the Xerox Conference Center at a cost of $55 million. It was designed to assist in copier and technology training for company employees. It was designed by Vincent G. Kling & Partners, and is currently managed by NCC EE, LLC. In 1994 Xerox permitted outside organizations to use the grounds. The center was sold to Oxford Capital Partners in 2000. Two years later, the center completed a $29 million renovation, in order to ameliorate its training operations. The current design implements "living learning modules", a series of color-coded buildings, tunnels, a ballroom, and walking trails.

Janelia or Janelia Farm is a mansion and former farm near Ashburn, Virginia, built in 1936 for artist Vinton Liddell Pickens and her husband Robert Pickens, a journalist. The farm property has become the Janelia Research Campus of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, which surrounds the house.
