Desborough railway station was built by the Midland Railway on its extension from Leicester to Bedford and Hitchin.

Desborough is a town in Northamptonshire, England, lying in the Ise Valley between Market Harborough and Kettering. It was an industrial centre for weaving and shoe-making in the 19th century and had a long association with the Co-operative movement. Desborough today is a residential centre: new homes and industry are being developed to the north of the old town.

The Borough of Kettering was from 1974 to 2021 a local government district and borough in Northamptonshire, England. It was named after its main town Kettering where the council was based. It bordered onto the district of Harborough in the neighbouring county of Leicestershire, the borough of Corby, the district of East Northamptonshire, the district of Daventry and the borough of Wellingborough.

Tailby Meadow is a 4.9 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Desborough in Northamptonshire. It is owned by Kettering Borough Council and managed by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.Artificial fertilisers have never been used on this hay meadow, and it has not been ploughed for several hundred years. There are fifteen species of grass and diverse wild flowers, including black knapweed, lady's bedstraw and lady's smock, which is a food source for the orange tip butterfly.The site can be accessed from the leisure centre off The Broadlands.

Rothwell Gullet (grid reference SP806818) is a 1.6-hectare (4.0-acre) nature reserve near Rothwell, Northamptonshire. It is owned and managed by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.The reserve is composed of an old ironstone quarry and a grassland area. It is well known for the swathes of hart's-tongue fern that cover the damp bottom of the gullet.

Montsaye Academy is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Rothwell, England. As an academy it was granted dual specialty status in late 2004, adding Humanities to its well established Language College status. Meena Gabbi is the current principal. The school received a good review from OFSTED in January 2019. Montsaye is also the site of the developed Rothwell Swimming Pool, which now incorporates a modern sports centre used by the community as well as the school.The pupils who attend the school are aged 11–18 (year 7–13) and come mainly from Desborough and Rothwell, as well as surrounding villages. The school had around 1274 students and around 100 members of staff as of 2009.

Rothwell is a market town in North Northamptonshire, England. It is close to three larger towns, situated 4 miles [6.4km] northwest of Kettering, 7 miles [11km] southeast of Market Harborough and 8 miles [12.8km] southwest of Corby. Rothwell's nearest railway station is at Kettering on the Midland Main Line.

Stoke and Bowd Lane Woods is a 36.4-hectare (90-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Corby in Northamptonshire. The eastern half of Stoke Wood is managed by the Woodland Trust, a triangular area of 0.7 hectares which stretches south from the middle is the Stoke Wood End Quarter, a nature reserve managed by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire, and the remaining western part of the wood is private property. Bowd Lane Wood is private property.These ancient semi-natural woods were formerly part of the medieval Royal Forest of Rockingham. The main tree species is pedunculate oak, with other species such as ash and birch. Ground flora include herb paris, wood sorrel, yellow archangel, early-purple orchid and greater butterfly-orchid.There is public access to the parts of Stoke Wood managed by the Woodland Trust and the Wildlife Trust by a track from the B669, Desborough Road.
