J. M. Hanks High School, commonly referred to as Hanks High School, is one of seven public secondary schools in Ysleta Independent School District, which encompasses much of east El Paso, Texas. Hanks' primary feeder school is J.M. Hanks Middle School. Additionally, many students from nearby Eastwood Middle School go on to attend Hanks High School.

The hospital was founded in 1974 and is licensed as a Level II trauma center. The hospital has 350 beds and is located in the Eastside area of the city.Del Sol is affiliated with Las Palmas Medical Center and is part of the Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare System. Del Sol is the only full-service, acute-care hospital in East El Paso.The medical center offers cardiovascular, emergency, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedic, rehabilitation, surgery, intensive care, wound care, laboratory, and radiologic/imaging services.

Bel Air High School is a high school in the city of El Paso, Texas, United States. The school was established in 1957. It houses Bel Air Middle School, with transfers from Eastwood as well as other local middle schools. Its Health Professions Branch offers the most transfers, closely followed by the Global Enterprises program. Bel Air High School placed 984th on Newsweek's list of the nation's top high schools based on rankings influenced heavily by the number of students who took Advanced Placement tests the previous year. In 2013 Texas UIL changed the areas from 4A-5A to a 5A-6A divisions causing Bel Air High School to remain behind in the 5A division due to the lack of student population.

The station is currently owned by 97.5 Licensee TX, LLC, an American subsidiary of Grupo Radio Centro. The nighttime signal of KAMA reduces power to 1 kilowatt and becomes highly directional to the west in order to protect the skywave signal of WSB in Atlanta. 750 AM is a United States and Canadian clear-channel frequency; WSB is a Class A dominant station on this frequency. CBGY is the Canadian Class A station on 750 AM.

Montwood High School is a four-year public high school located in the East El Paso area of El Paso, Texas, United States. It is a part of the Socorro Independent School District. The school was completed in 1989, just in time for the 1990/1991 school year. The school was opened serving grades 7, 8, 9, 10 and would gain a grade/lose a grade until the first graduating class of 1993. Montwood has many academic programs such as Advanced Placement, Dual Credit, MASI (Montwood Advanced Studies Institute), REC (Rams Early College), AVID (Advance Via Individual Determination)and Synergy. Montwood was named a 1997-98 National Blue Ribbon School.

The station is licensed to broadcast in HD radio, but does not currently broadcast in HD.Historically, KHEY was one of several country music stations in the El Paso, Texas market, and was the last AM station in the market to keep its country format. The station was assigned a frequency of 690 AM, owner Clear Channel Communications swapped frequencies with station KTSM in 2000.

On August 3, 2019, a mass shooting occurred at a Walmart store in El Paso, Texas, United States. In the terrorist attack, a far-right individual killed 23 people and injured 23 others. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating the shooting as an act of domestic terrorism and a hate crime. The shooting has been described as the deadliest attack on Latinos in modern American history since the 2016 Orlando nightclub shooting, and is the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history to conclude with a perpetrator being caught alive to face legal repercussions. It is also the second-deadliest mass shooting in Texas history, tied along with the Luby's shooting in 1991 after the Sutherland Springs church shooting in 2017. Patrick Wood Crusius, a 21-year-old from Allen, Texas, was arrested and charged with capital murder in connection with the shooting. Crusius claims to have posted a manifesto with white nationalist and anti-immigrant themes, on the imageboard 8chan shortly before the attack. The manifesto cites the Christchurch mosque shootings earlier that year, and the far-right conspiracy theory known as the Great Replacement, as inspiration for the attack. On February 8, 2023, following an announcement that the Department of Justice would not seek the death penalty, Crusius pleaded guilty to 90 federal murder and hate crime charges.

Burges High School in El Paso, Texas, United States, is a comprehensive high school in the El Paso Independent School District. It is located in the Cielo Vista neighborhood on the near east side of El Paso, north of the large shopping center Cielo Vista Mall and south of El Paso International Airport, and is the only El Paso Independent School District high school in East El Paso.
