Lyon Zoo

The Vacherie du Parc is a former municipal dairy located along the Allée des Moutons in the Lyon Zoo, in the heart of the Parc de la Tête d'Or in Lyon, France. It was designed by the architect Tony Garnier following a commission from the city of Lyon. It was intended to provide milk for Lyon's orphans, and included a stable, a milk pasteurization facility, and accommodation for the cowherds. The cow farm was not efficient enough and was closed in 1919 when it was transferred to the Agricultural school of Cibeins in Misérieux. After being converted into a rearing house in the 1920s, the building is now an administrative building.

The Jardin botanique de Lyon (English: Botanical Garden of Lyon), also known as the Jardin botanique du Parc de la Tête d'Or (Botanical Garden of the Golden Head), is an 8 hectares (20 acres) municipal botanical garden located in the Parc de la Tête d'or in the 6th arrondissement of Lyon, France. It is open weekdays without charge.

The Parc de la Tête d'or (English: "Park of the Golden Head") is a large urban park in Lyon, France, with an area of approximately 117 hectares (290 acres). Located in the northern part of the 6th arrondissement, it features the Jardin botanique de Lyon, as well as a lake on which boating takes place during the summer months. Due to the relatively small number of other parks in Lyon, it receives a huge number of visitors over summer; it is a frequent destination for joggers and cyclists. In the park's central part, there is a small zoo without charge, which includes giraffes, deer, reptiles, primates, along with other animals. There are also sports equipments, such as a velodrome, boules court, mini-golf and equestrian facility, in addition to a mini-train.

Palais d'Hiver (English: "Winter Palace") was a music hall located in Lyon, France. It was the largest music hall in Europe from 1963 until its destruction in 1988. Over the years it hosted many notable performers such as The Beatles, Thin Lizzy, Fernandel, Josephine Baker, Jacques Brel, Johnny Hallyday and Santana.

The Lycée du Parc is a public secondary school located in the sixth arrondissement of Lyon, France. Its name comes from the Parc de la Tête d'Or, one of Europe's largest urban parks, which is situated nearby. It provides a lycée-level education and also offers classes préparatoires, or prépas, preparing students for entrance to the elite Grandes Écoles such as École Polytechnique, CentraleSupélec, École des Mines de Paris, ESSEC Business School, ESCP Business School, and HEC Paris. The school was built on the site of the former Lunette des Charpennes, part of the Ceintures de Lyon system of fortifications built in the 19th century.

The 6th arrondissement of Lyon is one of the nine arrondissements of the City of Lyon and one of the poshest.

The École nationale supérieure des sciences de l'information et des bibliothèques (ENSSIB; French for National Superior School of Information Science and Libraries) is a French grande école based in Villeurbanne, near Lyon. It is administered by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.Enssib's predecessor, the École nationale supérieure de bibliothécaires, was established by decree in 1963 as an Établissement public à caractère administratif. The contemporary Enssib was formed by later decree in 1992, with elevated status as a grand établissement.It provides education and training for library curators and librarians in the French civil service after a competitive examination. The school is also a member of the University of Lyon and grants a variety of master's degrees, open to those not in the civil service. Since 2009, the school publishes the Bulletin des bibliothèques de France (ISSN 1292-8399), a journal established in 1956 by the merging of the Bulletin de documentation bibliographique and Bulletin d’information de la Direction des Bibliothèques de France. The school belongs to the Couperin consortium.

Tang Frères ("Tang Brothers") is an Asian supermarket chain based in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, one of the quartier chinois (Chinatown) of the capital city of France. Tang Frères is known as the biggest Asian supermarket chain west of China. The company has in fact diversified to other activities, including import of Asian DVDs and TV broadcasting. Tang Frères has several retail outlets throughout Paris and its immediate suburbs, as well as an outlet in Vientiane, the capital of Laos – the country of origin of the company's founding brothers. Next to the Ivry's Tang Frères supermarket lies Paristore, another major Asian supermarket from France.

Cité Internationale (International City) is a quarter in the 6th arrondissement of Lyon, France. It is situated between the Rhône and Parc de la Tête d'Or and encompasses an area that had previously been the location of the Foire de Lyon. It is connected to the commune of Caluire-et-Cuire by the Passerelle de la Paix.

The Musée d'art contemporain de Lyon is a museum devoted to contemporary art, located in the 6th arrondissement of Lyon, in the Cité Internationale, next to the cinema, in front of the Parc de la Tête d'Or. It had over 42,000 visitors in 2007.

Le Transbordeur is a 1,800-seat concert hall located in Villeurbanne, France. It was inaugurated in 1989.Notable past performers include Lorde, Tool, Blue Öyster Cult, Robert Plant, Megadeth, Motörhead, Porcupine Tree, Lenny Kravitz, Simple Minds (2010), Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds (2011), Boy George (2014) and Mogwai (2022).

The 22nd G7 Summit was held in Lyon, France, on 27–29 June 1996. The venue for this summit meeting was the Museum of Contemporary Art, Lyon (Musée d'art Contemporain de Lyon). The locations of previous summits to have been hosted by France include: Rambouillet (1975), Versailles (1982), and Paris (1989). The Group of Seven (G7) was an unofficial forum which brought together the heads of the richest industrialized countries: France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada (since 1976), and the President of the European Commission (starting officially in 1981). The summits were not meant to be linked formally with wider international institutions; and in fact, a mild rebellion against the stiff formality of other international meetings was a part of the genesis of cooperation between France's president Valéry Giscard d'Estaing and West Germany's chancellor Helmut Schmidt as they conceived the first Group of Six (G6) summit in 1975.A pre-summit was held in Moscow, Russia from 19 to 20 April to deal with nuclear security issues.
