North Stoke is a village within the civil parish of Kelston in the Bath and North East Somerset (BANES) unitary authority within the historic county of Somerset, England, and close to the border with South Gloucestershire. The parish has a population of 72.

Bath Racecourse is a thoroughbred horse racing venue on Lansdown Hill, about 3+1⁄4 miles (5.2 km) northeast of Bath, Somerset, England. It is owned and operated by Arena Racing Company. The racecourse is a left-handed oval track of 1 mile 4 furlongs and 25 yards, with a run-in of nearly half-a-mile. The home straight is 4 furlongs, with a steady rise and turn. It is the highest flat racecourse in the country and has no watering facility, so the going can become very firm during a dry summer.At 780 feet (238 m) above sea level, Bath is Britain's highest flat racecourse, although National Hunt courses Hexham and Exeter are higher.

Congrove Field and The Tumps is a (grid reference ST713698) is a 14.2 hectares (35 acres) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) on Lansdown Hill, north of Bath in Bath and North East Somerset, notified in 1991.It is an area of calcareous grassland lying over Oolitic (Jurassic) Limestone covered by shallow, well-drained soils. The Tumps is above Congrove Field, and is believed to be the site of mining activities in the past. The grassland communities present are of the Tor-grass (Brachypodium pinnatum) type showing elements of both the Meadow Oat-grass-wild thyme (Avenula pratensis)–(Thymus praecox) and the Knapweed-Rough Hawkbit (Centaurea nigra)–(Leontodon hispidus) variants.

Beach is a hamlet in South Gloucestershire, England, on the lower northern slopes of Lansdown Hill. It is about 1 mile north-west of Upton Cheyney. Beach was designated as a conservation area on 23 October 1989.During the English Civil War the Battle of Lansdowne was fought, on 5 July 1643, in fields nearby Beach.Britton's Farm is the major property in the village. Formerly much of the village and surrounding area was part of the Beach House estate.A Forest of Avon Trust community woodland, The Retreat, is to the east of the village. The Retreat was planted in 2000 under a Millennium Commission programme, and previously managed by the Woodland Trust.

The Old Crown is a pub in Kelston, Somerset. It is featured in the Good Beer Guide by the Campaign for Real Ale and is Cask Marque accredited. The pub is owned by the St Austell Brewery. It is regularly cited as one of the best places visitors to Kelston should visit.

Swineford is a hamlet in the South Gloucestershire council area, very close to the boundary with Bath and North East Somerset. It is located around 1 km south-east of Bitton, and lies on the River Avon, on which the Swineford Lock is sited. The A431 road runs through the village. The name is cognate with that of the German town of Schweinfurt.

Swineford Lock is a canal lock situated on the River Avon, at the village of Swineford, England. The Bristol Avon Navigation, which runs the 15 miles (24 km) from the Kennet and Avon Canal at Hanham Lock to the Bristol Channel at Avonmouth, was constructed between 1724 and 1727, following legislation passed by Queen Anne, by a company of proprietors and the engineer John Hore of Newbury. The first cargo of 'Deal boards, Pig-Lead and Meal' arrived in Bath in December 1727. The navigation is now administered by the Canal & River Trust. In its heyday, between 1709 and 1859 Swineford had an active brass and copper industry which were served by the river which also provided water power for the cloth industry. The mill was later converted into a flock mill.

Kelston is a small village and civil parish in Somerset, 4 miles (6.4 km) north west of Bath, and 8 miles (12.9 km) east of Bristol, on the A431 road. It is situated just north of the River Avon, close to the Kelston and Saltford locks. The parish has a population of 248.

Saltford Lock is a canal lock situated on the River Avon, at the village of Saltford, between Bristol and Bath, England. The Bristol Avon Navigation, which runs the 15 miles (24 km) from the Kennet and Avon Canal at Hanham Lock to the Bristol Channel at Avonmouth, was constructed between 1724 and 1727, following legislation passed by Queen Anne, by a company of proprietors and the engineer John Hore of Newbury. The first cargo of 'Deal boards, Pig-Lead and Meal' arrived in Bath in December 1727. The navigation is now administered by the Canal & River Trust. The lock and weir are overlooked by the remains of the Kelston Brass Mill, which was working until 1925. It is a grade II listed building. Alongside the lock is the Jolly Sailor pub, whose garden extends over the lock to the small island between the lock and weir. The lock was opened in 1727 and destroyed in 1738 (probably by rival coal dealers) to stop the use of the river for transportation. The pub was built in 1726 for the bargees, when the navigation opened. The wooden fireplace has holes made by newly promoted barge captains using hot pokers.

The Kelston toll road was a 1,198-foot-long (365 m) private, temporary toll road, built by a private entrepreneur without planning permission between Bath and Kelston, 9.5 miles (15.3 km) southeast of Bristol in Bath and North East Somerset, England. It opened on 1 August and closed on 17 November 2014, when the A431 road reopened.

Kelston Park is an 18th-century country house in the village of Kelston, approximately 3 miles from Bath in North East Somerset, England. Altogether the house and gardens of Kelston Park cover an area of approximately 75 hectares (190 acres). The house has been designated as a Grade II* listed building, and the garden is Grade II* listed in the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.The River Avon, Bristol & Bath Railway Path, the A4 and the railway track between Bristol and Bath can be viewed from the rear of the building, which is now primarily used as offices.
