Harris Branch (Flat River tributary)

The Derby-Doerun Dolomite is a Cambrian geologic formation exposed in southeast Missouri. Originally the Derby and Doerun were originally considered separate formations, but now considered a single unit. The combined name is from the Derby Mine and the Doe Run Lead Company of the Old Lead Belt.

Missouri Mines State Historic Site occupies Federal Mill No. 3 in Park Hills, Missouri, United States, which processed the lead and zinc ore that was mined in the immediate area for many decades. The site's old power building features a geological and mining history museum and interpretive center focusing on the state's historic Old Lead Belt.The plant was built by the Federal Lead Co. in 1906-1907 and subsequently bought by competitor St. Joseph Lead Company in 1923. The mill was retired in 1972 as much of the ore in the area had been mined and major operations were moving west. In 1975, the land was donated to the state of Missouri for recreational use. Much of the land was considered too damaged for return to a natural state and so became set aside for off-roading vehicles as St. Joe State Park, while the mill site was designated an interpretive center.

Eugene Field School is a historic school building located at Park Hills, St. Francois County, Missouri. It was built in 1907, and is a two-story, "T"-plan, Late Victorian style red brick school building with an addition completed by 1911. It has a low-pitched hipped roof and sits on a raised concrete foundation. It features arched openings and polychromatic brick detailing.: 5 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Gumbo is an unincorporated community in northwestern St. Francois County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The community is located along Missouri Route 8 between Desloge and Leadwood. The meandering Big River lies to the north.Gumbo most likely was so named on account of "gombo" dirt near the original town site. During World War II, a large TNT plant was located five miles west of Gumbo.

Mitchell is an unincorporated community in St. Francois County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The community lies above the headwaters of Owl Creek, approximately one mile south of Leadwood and two miles west of Elvins.Mitchell was laid out in 1925.
