Stockton State Park is a public recreation area occupying 2,176 acres (881 ha) on the shore of Stockton Lake, nine miles (14 km) south of Stockton, Missouri. The state park occupies a northward jutting peninsula between the Big Sac and Little Sac arms of the 25,000-acre (10,000 ha) lake, which was created when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dammed the Sac River in 1969.

George Dimmitt Memorial Hospital, also known as the Polk Community Hospital and Lakeshores Residential Center, is a historic hospital building located at Humansville, Polk County, Missouri. It was built in 1929, and is a Colonial Revival style brick building consisting of a three-story central portion flanked by two-story wings with gallery porches. The building incorporates an existing two-story brick residence with an ell. It features a wide frieze and cornice rendered in terra cotta. The building houses a residential care center for individuals with psychiatric or developmental disabilities.: 5, 14 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

Stockton Lake is a reservoir located in southeastern Cedar County, northeastern Dade County, and southwestern Polk County, Missouri. The lake is V-shaped, and covers 39 square miles (100 km2), with 298 miles (480 km) of shoreline. It has three marinas, and 10 public-use areas. It has a "non-development policy," and is surrounded by unspoiled, tree-covered hills. Its banks are owned and operated by the Army Corps of Engineers. Stockton Lake is one of Missouri's seven major lakes, all man-made. It was formed by damming the Sac River near the city of Stockton in 1969. The lake is crossed by three state highways over a network of six bridges. A pipeline carries water from Stockton Lake to Fellows Lake in northern Greene County to help supplement water for the city of Springfield. Stockton lake has numerous coves protected from the wind making it a great lake to wakeboard, water ski or other water sports.

Bear Creek is a stream in Dade and Polk counties in the Ozarks of southwest Missouri. It is a tributary to the Sac River. The stream headwaters are in Polk County at 37°33′37″N 93°24′53″W and the confluence with the Sac River is in Dade County at 37°43′01″N 93°44′56″W at an elevation of 764 feet. The stream source area is south of Bolivar and just north of the community of Karlin. The stream flows to the northwest passing under Missouri Route 123 and Missouri Route 32 south and west of Fair Play. and passes to the northeast of Bearcreek. The stream continues to the northwest and west to its confluence with the Sac River about two miles north of the Stockton Lake dam northeast of Stockton.The name derives from the abundance of bears in the vicinity of the stream during the time of settlement.

Panther Creek is a stream in Polk, Hickory and St. Clair counties of southwest Missouri. It is a tributary of Brush Creek. The stream headwaters are in northwest Polk County at 37°46′56″N 93°30′33″W and the confluence with Brush Creek in southeast St. Clair County is at 37°49′54″N 93°37′41″W. The stream source lies east of Missouri Route 13 southwest of Humansville. The stream flows north to northeast and turns westward just south of Flemington and then northwest entering the southwest corner of Hickory County where it passes under Missouri Route 123. It enters St. Claire County and meanders back into Polk County and then back into St. Clair County where it passes under Route 13 to its confluence with Brush Creek.Panther Creek was named on account of panthers in the area.
