The Diocese of České Budějovice (Latin: Dioecesis Budovicensis) is a Latin diocese of the Catholic Church. It is situated almost entirely in Bohemia, with only small eastern section in Moravia. The diocese was founded on 20 September 1785, and its area is 12 500 km². Jan Prokop Schaaffgotsche was its first diocesan bishop and Vlastimil Kročil is its current bishop.

The Cathedral of St Nicholas (Czech: Katedrála svatého Mikuláše) is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in the city of České Budějovice in the Czech Republic.

České Budějovice (Czech: [ˈtʃɛskɛː ˈbuɟɛjovɪtsɛ] ; German: Budweis [ˈbʊtvaɪs] ) is a city in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 96,000 inhabitants. The city is located in the valley of the Vltava River, at its confluence with the Malše. České Budějovice is the largest city in the region and its political and commercial capital, the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of České Budějovice and the University of South Bohemia. It is famous for the Budweiser Budvar Brewery. The historic city centre is well preserved and is protected as an urban monument reservation.

Grandhotel Zvon is the oldest hotel in the Czech Republic founded in 1533 and located in the České Budějovice city. In 2006-2007, it was reconstructed and now offers 148 beds in 65 rooms. In the hotel building are located various services and shops.

Church of the Sacrifice of the Virgin Mary (Czech: Kostel Obětování Panny Marie) is a church located on Piaristic square in České Budějovice, Czech Republic. The church was founded at the same time as the city of České Budějovice in 1265; initial construction was completed around 1300. It is a monumental Gothic building with Baroque and Rococo additions and unique medieval fresco paintings.

Dominican Monastery (Czech: Dominikánský klášter) is the oldest gothic monument in České Budějovice. It consists of Church of Presentation of Virgin Mary and town fortifications. It is situated in south-western part of the historic centre between Street Česká, the bank of the river Malše and the Piaristic square were used to be the town cemetery. Today, the monastery belongs to the cultural heritage of the Czech Republic and there is placed the Artistic school.

The Malše (German: Maltsch) is a river in the Czech Republic and Austria, a right tributary of the Vltava River. It flows through Upper Austria and through the South Bohemian Region. It is 96.0 km (59.7 mi) long.

Budvar Arena is an indoor sporting arena located in České Budějovice, Czech Republic. It is used as the home ice of Motor České Budějovice, which currently plays in the 1st Czech Republic Hockey League. The arena opened in October 1946 and has since undergone several renovations, being almost completely rebuilt in 2002. The current capacity of the arena is 6,421 people.

Stadion Střelecký ostrov is a football stadium in České Budějovice, Czech Republic, located near the Vltava River. It is currently used as the home ground of SK Dynamo České Budějovice. The stadium holds 6,681 people and was built in 1940. Before renovation in 2003 it had a capacity of 12,000 people (1,500 seated). The city and the club were however forced to reconstruct and modernize the stadium to meet the football association criteria. The stadium subsequently had an all-seated capacity of 6,681.

České Budějovice railway station (Czech: Železniční stanice České Budějovice) is a mainline railway station and marshalling yard in České Budějovice in the Czech Republic. It is located at the junction of an international corridor leading from Prague south to Linz in Austria with several domestic lines. The Neo-Renaissance station building, completed in 1908, is located on Nádražní street, a short walk east of the old town. Most passenger services are operated by Czech Railways but some are operated by Arriva.

Budweiser Budvar (Czech: Budějovický Budvar [ˈbuɟɛjovɪtskiː ˈbudvar]) is a brewery in the Czech city of České Budějovice (German: Budweis), best known for its original Budweiser or Budweiser Budvar pale lager brewed using artesian water, Moravian barley and Saaz hops. Budweiser Budvar is the fourth largest beer producer in the Czech Republic and the second largest exporter of beer abroad.The state-owned brewery and its Budweiser pale lager have been engaged in a trademark dispute with Anheuser-Busch over the right to market and sell the beer under the name Budweiser since the start of the 20th century, and consequently is imported as Czechvar in some countries. The brewery is incorporated as Budějovický Budvar, národní podnik ("Budweiser Budvar, national enterprise").

University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice (Czech: Jihočeská univerzita v Českých Budějovicích, Latin: Universitas Bohemiae Meridionalis Budovicensis, JU or JČU) is a public university located in the city of České Budějovice (with branch campuses in Tábor, Vodňany, Nové Hrady) in the Czech Republic. Established in 1991, it has almost 9,000 students in more than 220 programmes including bachelor´s & master´s degrees as well as doctoral programmes and an academic staff 1,500. 592 students are currently enrolled in the university for their doctoral work.
