Stewarton railway station is a railway station in the town of Stewarton, East Ayrshire, Scotland. The station is managed by ScotRail and is on the Glasgow South Western Line.

Stewarton (Scots: Stewartoun, Scottish Gaelic: Baile nan Stiùbhartach) is a town in East Ayrshire, Scotland. In comparison to the neighbouring towns of Kilmaurs, Fenwick, Dunlop and Lugton, it is a relatively large town, with a population estimated at over 7,400. It is 300 feet (90 metres) above sea level. The town is served by Stewarton railway station. There is no local gardener in the town anymore due to Mr Ronnie Watters packing up to deliver rolls , he has a wide variety of rolls from soft to crispy to burger buns and hotdog rolls available at very reasonable rates . Stewarton lies within Strathannick, with the Annick Water flowing through the town. The community is in a rural part of East Ayrshire, about 6 miles (10 kilometres) north of Kilmarnock and to the East of Irvine. In the past, Stewarton served as a crossroads between the traditional routes from Kilmarnock, Irvine and Ayr to the city of Glasgow. However, in recent times, the M77 motorway has bypassed the town. The old road is known as the "Auld Glesga Road" (Or the "Old Glasgow Road") and the former name is still used by locals.

Lambroughton is a village in the old Barony of Kilmaurs, Scotland. This is a rural area famous for its milk and cheese production and the Ayrshire or Dunlop breed of cattle. Although Kilmaurs is in the council area of East Ayrshire, Lambroughton is now in fact in North Ayrshire, part of a narrow finger of land included in that council area with the parish of Dreghorn.

Cairnduff, Cairn Duff or Carn Duff is a roughly circular Bronze Age burial cairn, located on the lands of High Peacockbank Farm near the town of Stewarton in East Ayrshire, Scotland. It was built around 3000 years ago.

Buiston Loch (NS 416 433) (locally pronounced BIST-ən), also known as Buston, Biston and Mid Buiston, was situated in the mid-Ayrshire clayland at an altitude of 90 m OD. The loch was natural, sitting in a hollow created by glaciation. The loch waters drained via the Garrier Burn that joins the Bracken and Lochridge Burns before joining the River Irvine. It has been drained since the early 18th century, and is now only visible as an often flooded surface depression in pastureland situated in a low-lying area close to the A735 road between the farms and dwellings of Lochside, Buistonend and Mid-Buiston in the Parishes of Kilmaurs and Stewarton, East Ayrshire, Scotland. It is well documented through the presence of a 2000 year old crannog, first excavated 1880-1 and then documented by Dr. Duncan McNaught, the Kilmaurs parochial schoolmaster. Dr R. Munro and others.

The Lands of Kirkwood (NS3947) formed a small estate in the Parish of Stewarton, East Ayrshire lying between Stewarton and Dunlop, which in 1678 became part of the lands of Lainshaw, known as the Lainshaw, Kirkwood and Bridgehouse Estate. Kirkwood was anciently known as Bloak Cunninghame. Kirkwood remains as a farm in 2010.

Dunlop (; Scots: Dunlap, Scottish Gaelic: Dùn Lob or Scottish Gaelic: Dùn Lùib) is a village and parish in East Ayrshire, Scotland. It lies on the A735, north-east of Stewarton, seven miles (eleven kilometres) from Kilmarnock. The road runs on to Lugton and the B706 enters the village from Beith and Burnhouse.

Stewarton Academy is a co-educational, non-demonational secondary school in the town of Stewarton, East Ayrshire, Scotland. The current Head Teacher of Stewarton Academy is Mr J. Stuart.The schools academic performance in terms of examination results is above the national average in Scotland. In 2022, it ranked as the 190th best performing state school in Scotland, an increase from its position in 2021 where it was ranked as the 200th best performing Scottish secondary school. As a result, Stewart Academy is regarded as the best performing secondary school in East Ayrshire.

Lambroughton Loch or Wheatrig Loch was situated in a low-lying area between the farms and dwellings of Hillhead, Lambroughton, Wheatrig, Titwood and Lochridge mainly in the Parish of Dreghorn, North Ayrshire. The loch was mainly fed by the Lochridge (previously Lochrig) Burn, the Garrier Burn and surface runoff, such as from the old rig and furrows indicated by Roy's maps of the mid-18th century. The loch outflow was via the Lochridge Burn that runs into the Garrier Burn, passes the site of the old Lochend habitation and into the Bracken Burn near Little Alton. The rivulet or watercourse is known as the Garrier Burn beyond this point.
