Limeside

Hollins is an area of Oldham, Greater Manchester, England, 1.7 miles south of the town centre. Formerly a hamlet set amongst open moorland and farmland along Hollins Road, the 19th century growth of Oldham saw Hollins form a contiguous urban area with Hollinwood, Limeside, Garden Suburb, Werneth, Coppice and Copster Hill.

Oasis Academy Oldham is a coeducational secondary school with academy status for 11- to 16-year-olds in the Hollinwood area of Oldham, Greater Manchester, England. The academy was formed from a merger of Kaskenmoor School in Hollinwood and South Chadderton School in Chadderton. The academy is sponsored by the Oasis Trust.When in 2016 the Collective Spirit Free School was closed, Oasis Academy Oldham accepted many of the 230 displaced children into years 8,9,10 and 11.

Heron Mill is a cotton spinning mill in Hollinwood, Oldham, Greater Manchester. It was designed by architect P. S. Stott and was constructed in 1905 by the Heron Mill Company Ltd next to Durban Mill. It was taken over by the Lancashire Cotton Corporation in the 1930s and passed to Courtaulds in 1964. Production ended in 1960, and it was used by Courtaulds for offices, warehousing, and some experimental fabric manufacture. Courtaulds occupation ended in 1994.

Oldham Borough F.C. was an English association football club based in Oldham, Greater Manchester, England. The club was founded in 1964 as Oldham Dew F.C., changing their name in 1985 to Oldham Town, again in 2009 to Oldham Boro before making their final name change in 2014. They were members of Division One of the North West Counties League until resigning in June 2015.

Whitebank Stadium, currently also known as the Vestacare Stadium for sponsorship purposes, is a rugby league and association football stadium which forms part of Limeside in Oldham, England. It is the home stadium of Oldham R.L.F.C. and Avro F.C. In 2017, following a sponsorship from Vestacare, a service provider for people with learning disabilities, the stadium was renamed Vestacare Stadium.

Garden Suburb is an area of Oldham, Greater Manchester, England, 1.9 miles to the south of the town centre, contiguous with Hollins, Copster Hill, Hollinwood and Limeside.

Fox Mill was a cotton spinning mill in Hollinwood, Oldham, Greater Manchester, England. It was taken over by the Lancashire Cotton Corporation in the 1930s and passed to Courtaulds in 1964.

Royd Mill, Oldham was a cotton spinning mill in Hollinwood, Oldham, Greater Manchester, England. It was built in 1907, and extended in 1912 and 1924. It was taken over by the Lancashire Cotton Corporation in the 1930s and passed to Courtaulds in 1964. Production finished in 1981. The mill was demolished in 2015 to make way for a "DifRent" housing scheme.

Copster Hill is a locality in the town of Oldham in Greater Manchester, lying 1.6 miles to the south of Oldham town centre. Archaically a hamlet and private estate set in open moorland and farmland along Hollins Road, the 19th-century growth of Oldham saw Copster Hill form a contiguous urban area with Hathershaw, Hollins, Garden Suburb and Coppice.The area is served by Copster Park which opened to the public in 1911.Two long-standing public houses survive in this locality: The Falconers Arms and the King George. The King George was built in 1911 but can trace its roots to an earlier inn on the same site, The Noggins, which dates from the early 1700s.

Kaskenmoor School was a mixed gender comprehensive secondary school for 11- to 16-year-old children in the Hollinwood area of Oldham in Greater Manchester, England. It also had a 6th form consisting of the Upper and Lower 6th, catering for 16 to 18 year olds who studied for their A levels. The school had approximately 750 pupils in attendance. When it opened in the mid-1960s, Kaskenmoor was an amalgamation of Greenhill Grammar School and Hollinwood Secondary Modern School, and was called Kaskenmoor Comprehensive School. The top three classes were grammar school classes and the bottom three were secondary modern classes, each for the most part keeping their own teachers. The headmaster Mr. Edwin Grey, and the teachers from the grammar school continued to wear their gowns at morning assembly and some in class too. The school uniform was modernised in line with the 1960s fashion. The school blazer was collar-less in charcoal with a green ribbon trim, and straw boaters were introduced, but short-lived. Summer dresses were no longer old fashioned gingham shirt-waisters, but a bold design, in two tone green, shift dress. The school had a state of the art craft block which included ceramics, art, metalwork and woodwork. The new building was featured on a BBC TV documentary. In 2005 Park Dean, Marland Fold and Hill Top Special schools joined the Kaskenmoor campus founding the new special needs school New Bridge. Kaskenmoor's motto was "Building a Community of Learners". Because the school was built on marshlands of Oldham there were four separate buildings in the campus. Kaskenmoor has now been amalgamated with South Chadderton School to become Oasis Academy Oldham.

Coppice is a locality and urban/suburban area the town of Oldham, in Greater Manchester, England. It is located to the south of Oldham town centre and is contiguous with other areas of Oldham including Hathershaw, Werneth, Hollins, Copster Hill and Primrose Bank. Coppice is the location of Hulme Grammar School and Werneth Cricket Club whose ground is known as 'The Coppice'.
