The Bull, St Paul's Cray

Orpington was an English local government district in north west Kent from 1934 to 1965 around the town of Orpington. It was a suburb of London, but formed part of the Metropolitan Police District. Most of the former area of the urban district is now part of the London Borough of Bromley in Greater London.

Ruxley Gravel Pits is an 18.7-hectare (46-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Ruxley, Orpington, in the London Borough of Bromley, and originally dug between 1929 and 1951. It is also a Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation. It is owned by the Environment Agency and managed by Kent Wildlife Trust. Natural England has assessed its condition as "unfavourable recovering".The site comprises four gravel pits, and the River Cray runs through three of them, while the fourth is fed by springs. Gravel extraction took place from 1929 to 1951, and once it ceased the pits attracted many species of birds and a diverse range of plants. In 1975 the site was designated an SSSI.Over 500 species of vascular plants and 169 of birds have been recorded, including song thrush, reed bunting, kingfisher and skylark. Fifty-three of the bird species are breeding. Insects include 23 species of butterfly, 9 dragonfly and over 500 beetles. This variety reflects the diversity of habitat: wooded islands, fringes of mature trees, scrub, fen and open water. Vegetation on the banks include the rare club rush Schoenoplectus tabernaemontani. The open water areas have rafts of yellow and white water-lily.Access to the site is reserved to members of the Orpington and District Angling Society and permit holders. It is closed to members of the public.

St Mary Cray is an area of South East London, England, within the London Borough of Bromley. Historically it was a market town in the county of Kent. It is located north of Orpington, and 13 miles (21 km) south-east of Charing Cross.

St Mary Cray railway station is in St Mary Cray, South East London within the London Borough of Bromley. It is 14 miles 57 chains (23.7 km) down the line from London Victoria. Train services are operated by Southeastern, who manage the station, and Thameslink. It is in Travelcard Zone 6, and the station is managed by Southeastern. Services are provided by Southeastern, and Thameslink. The station has four platforms, platforms 1 and 3 being for services to Central London via Bromley South, platform 2 for services to Sevenoaks and Ashford International and platform 4 for services to Gillingham. To the west of the station the Up and Down Chatham Loop lines give access to the South Eastern Main Line where the next station is Chislehurst. There are normally no direct trains between Chislehurst and St Mary Cray, as trains that use the connecting curves usually run non-stop between London Bridge and either Rochester or West Malling. Access to the station is from a footbridge built over the railway. The footbridge is not part of the station (albeit painted in typical southeastern colours) with the entrance to the station built on the footbridge. The footbridge was refurbished in 2016. Lifts, cycle-shelters, ramps and handrails were added to improve access early in 2022. The station has 4 Oystercard readers rather than ticket barriers. 2 ticket machines are present near the footbridge. The station is fully staffed from the first train to the last of the day, as all trains (except for Thameslink services) are dispatched by platform staff.

Sporting Club Thamesmead F.C. is an English football club located in Thamesmead and Sidcup, both in the London Borough of Bexley. The club is affiliated to the Kent Football Association. The first team plays in the Southern Counties East League Division One and the reserves play in the NRG Gyms Kent County League. Originally formed as Royal Ordnance Factories Sports Association (ROFSA), in 1966 they changed their name to Royal Arsenal Sports and Recreation Association (RASRA). From 2003 until 2011, the team was known as Seven Acre Sports, before being renamed as Seven Acre & Sidcup on moving to Oxford Road in Sidcup. The club's current name was adopted in 2016, following a further move to the Sporting Club Thamesmead sports complex in 2015.

St Botolph's Church is a church building in Ruxley, in the London Borough of Bromley, southest London, England. It was constructed in the thirteenth century and dedicted to Botwulf of Thorney. St Botolph's was used as a church for around 300 years but was deconsecrated in 1557. The church was then used a farm building for over 400 years and the remains of an oast house are still adjacent to it. In the 1960s archaeological work was carried out on the site and found evidence of an older wooden building, suggesting there may have been an older Saxon church in the same location. Today the church is a Grade II listed building and a scheduled ancient monument on the grounds of Ruxley Manor Garden Centre, although many features are still intact, the church is in disrepair and English Heritage have agreed to pay a grant to help preserve the building.
