Cornell is an unincorporated community in the Santa Monica Mountains, within western Los Angeles County, California. It is located 5 miles (8.0 km) west of Agoura Hills and around 2.5 miles (4.0 km) north of Malibu. Cornell's heyday was the 1910s to the 1950s, and the settlement is now essentially a ghost town but a handful of buildings and one functioning restaurant persisted circa 2007.

Holy Family is a private, independent traditionalist Catholic chapel located behind a guarded gate at 30188 W. Mulholland Highway, Agoura Hills, California, United States. It is not affiliated with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Its 70 or so members are traditional Catholics, including some that hold a sedevacantism position. They reject many or all of the reforms introduced by the Second Vatican Council and worship according to earlier Roman Catholic rites including the Tridentine Mass. The Rev. Clement Procopio, a Franciscan priest, was instructed not to offer Mass in the Diocese by Phoenix Bishop Thomas J. O'Brien. The chapel is supported by the non-profit A.P. Reilly Foundation, which is funded by actor/director Mel Gibson. According to 2008 IRS filings, the foundation's assets, including real property, total $42 million.

Seminole Hot Springs is an unincorporated community in Los Angeles County, California, United States. Seminole Hot Springs is located in the Santa Monica Mountains near Cornell, 3.6 miles (5.8 km) south-southeast of Agoura Hills at an elevation of 932 feet (284 m).

Malibou Lake is a small reservoir surrounded by a residential development in the Santa Monica Mountains near Agoura Hills, California. Adjacent to Malibu Creek State Park and within the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, it is situated between Malibu Beach and the Conejo Valley. It was created in 1922 after the Malibu Lake Club Dam was built at the confluence of two creeks. The lake, and community of 250 residents are private.The 350 acres (140 ha) site includes rugged mountain terrain, exclusive ranch houses, cabins and a club, It has been a popular venue for filming due to its proximity to the Hollywood studios. About 100 Hollywood movies have been filmed since the silent film period.

Paramount Ranch Racetrack (sometimes called Paramount Ranch Raceway) was a motorsports racetrack located at Paramount Ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains in Agoura Hills, California. A total of seven events were held at Paramount Ranch from 1956-1957. After a series of fatalities in short proximity to each other, the track gained a reputation for being a dangerous circuit. After two seasons, Paramount Ranch Racetrack was closed.

Castro Peak, at 2,826 feet (861 m), is the highest peak in the middle part of the Santa Monica Mountains and is in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. The town of Malibu is located to the southeast of the peak. The fire lookout tower that was once located on Castro Peak has been moved to Henninger Flats in the San Gabriel Mountains for display.

Ballard Mountain is a mountain in Los Angeles County, California in the Santa Monica Mountains with an elevation of 2,039 feet (621 m). Previously known by the pejorative form, all such names were changed by the Board on Geographic Names (BGN) to "Negro" in 1964. In 2009, the name was changed to recognize the summit's association with John Ballard, an early black pioneer.

Downtown is the commercial and geographic heart of Agoura Hills, California, a district built mainly in the 1970s to replace the city's old heart in what is now the Historic Quarter.Downtown features a number of shopping centers, focused on Thousand Oaks Boulevard and Kanan Rd., the area's two main thoroughfares. Although in the past few decades much of the city's entertainment life had moved south to Malibu Junction, leaving a great deal of urban decay behind, there is a current renaissance of entertainment in downtown, fueled by the opening and redesign of a number of restaurants and cafes, as well as the construction boom in the South End. Downtown is bordered by Upper Downtown to the north, East Agoura to the southeast, South End to the south, Midtown to the southwest, and Morrison Ranch to the northwest.

Rocky Oaks is a small nature reserve and wildlife refuge regional park on Mulholland Highway in the Santa Monica Mountains, within western Los Angeles County, southern California.

Forest Cove is a neighborhood of Agoura Hills, California. This residential district is composed of relatively compact detached homes, some reminiscent of the French Provincial style of architecture, with the large Forest Cove Park as the community's center. On the southern edge of Forest Cove, in a subdistrict called Strawberry Hill, there are a number of medium density apartments with interesting architecture and Agoura Hills' fire station. For years, a large Hawaiian flag has flown over Strawberry Hill, leading some to christen the district "Little Hawai'i".
