The town of Biggleswade in Bedfordshire, England was administered as a Local Government District from 1892 to 1894 and an Urban District from 1894 to 1974.

Biggleswade was a rural district in Bedfordshire, England from 1894 to 1974. As initially created the district entirely surrounded but did not include Biggleswade, which was an urban district in its own right. In 1927 the parish of Sandy, which bordered Biggleswade, also became an urban district, leaving an island of two urban districts surrounded by the rural district.

Biggleswade was a historic 'hundred' of English county of Bedfordshire. The hundred consisted of the town of Biggleswade and its surrounding area. The name Biggleswade comes from a concatenation of the Anglo Saxon words 'Biceil' (being a personal name) and 'Waed' (meaning a ford).

The Old Town Hall is a former municipal building in the High Street, Biggleswade, Bedfordshire, England. The structure, which most recently operated as a restaurant, is a Grade II listed building.

Biggleswade Castle was a castle in the market town of Biggleswade in Bedfordshire. The existence of this castle was discovered by aerial photography, in 1954, which showed the remains of a motte and bailey castle with a double ditch around the motte and a single ditch around the bailey. Some excavation of the site was done in 1962 and 1968. The excavations found evidence of timber structures, as well as pottery. Only cropmarks and slight earthworks remain. This site is a Scheduled Monument.

Biggleswade railway station serves the market town of Biggleswade in Bedfordshire, England. It is on the East Coast Main Line, 41 miles 13 chains (41.16 miles, 66.24 km) from London King's Cross. The station is managed by Great Northern, although most services are operated by Thameslink. Biggleswade station was originally built in 1850 for the Great Northern railway. The original station consisted of two lines but was rebuilt in 1901 to allow the present four line arrangement to be built. Biggleswade has two large platforms and four main rail lines, a pair of "up and down" slow lines used by stopping services and a pair of "up and down" fast lines used by fast InterCity East Coast passing through at high speed and Great Northern services at peak times running non-stop to/from London. A fifth line extends off the "down" slow line which links into the remaining sidings used by the Plasmor block company.The station's platforms have been lengthened so that they can cope with 12 car trains, which are now serving the station. The station currently has four 12-car services in the morning and two in the evening. Larger numbers of 12-car services will serve the station following the completion of the Thameslink Programme.The large waiting room platform is listed Grade II on the National Heritage List for England.

Biggleswade ( BIG-əlz-wayd) is a market town and civil parish in Central Bedfordshire in Bedfordshire, England. It lies on the River Ivel, 11 miles (18 km) south-east of Bedford. Its population was 16,551 in the 2011 United Kingdom census, and its estimated population in mid-2019 had increased to 21,700, its growth encouraged by good road and rail links to London. The King's Reach development, begun in 2010, will provide 2,000 new homes to the east of the town.

Biggleswade Cemetery (also known as Drove Road Cemetery) was the main burial ground for the town of Biggleswade in Bedfordshire. Opening in 1869, the cemetery is located on Drove Road and since 1986 has been closed for burials except for interment in family plots.
