Hinesburg is the primary village and a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Hinesburg, Chittenden County, Vermont, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 872, out of 4,698 in the entire town of Hinesburg.

The Chittenden-1-1 Representative District is a one-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one- or two-member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 United States census. The Chittenden-1-1 District includes all of the Chittenden County town of Hinesburg: except two portions: the first being that portion of the town of Hinesburg in the southwest corner of the town bounded by a line beginning at the intersection of the Monkton town line and Baldwin Road, then northerly along Baldwin Road to its intersection with Drinkwater Road, then westerly along the centerline of Drinkwater Road to the Charlotte town line, and the second being that portion of the town of Hinesburg in the northwest corner of the town bounded by a line beginning at the junction of VT 116 and the St. George town line, then southerly along the centerline of VT 116 to its intersection with Falls Road, then westerly along the centerline of Falls Road to its intersection with O'Neill Road, then westerly along the centerline of O'Neill Road to the Charlotte town border. The rest of Hinesburg is in Chittenden-1-2. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The one member Chittenden-1-1 District had a population of 4,185 in that same census, 3.1% above the state average.

Champlain Valley Union High School (CVU) is a high school located in the town of Hinesburg, Vermont, United States. The school serves the towns of Charlotte, Hinesburg, Shelburne, St. George, and Williston. The enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year was 1,284 students with 103 faculty.CVU was established in 1964 to serve the Chittenden County towns outside of Burlington. It is currently the largest high school by enrollment in the state of Vermont.

Williston is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of St. George, Chittenden County, Vermont, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census. The CDP is in south-central Chittenden County, in the southwest corner of the town of St. George, centered on the intersection of Vermont Route 116 and Vermont Route 2A (St. George Road). It is bordered to the west by the town of Shelburne and to the south by the town of Hinesburg. VT 116 leads northwest 7 miles (11 km) to South Burlington and south-southeast 3 miles (5 km) to Hinesburg village, while VT 2A leads north 5 miles (8 km) to Williston.

Lake Iroquois is a 229-acre (0.93 km2) reservoir in northwestern Vermont, bordered by three towns: Hinesburg, Williston, and Richmond. Lake Iroquois (formerly known as Hinesburg pond) was created in 1867 to supply mills in Hinesburg with a better water supply. Building a dam on Pond Brook caused the existing spring-fed pond to rise above its banks and become the current lake. The towns share a beach on the lake, plus there is a public boat access. Approximately 32 streams flow into the lake on the north, east and west sides, the largest being the one that flows in from the northwest section (crossing Beebe Lane). There are also several streams that bubble up from the lake bottom. The outflow of the lake is over the dam in the south end. The outlet stream flows into Sunset Lake in Hinesburg, and then into the LaPlatte River and into Lake Champlain. The lake is used extensively throughout the year by residents and by visitors. The Lake Iroquois Recreation District (LIRD) maintains the public beach at the north end of the lake. The LIRD also maintains a trail network on the land around the lake. The trails are accessible from the beach parking lot. The Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife maintains the fishing access and boat ramp, also at the north end of the lake, which provides public access to the lake for boating and fishing. The Lake Iroquois Association (LIA) was founded in 2007 to enhance the water quality of Lake Iroquois and to protect the health of the surrounding ecosystem. The LIA is an all volunteer membership organization, governed by an elected board of directors. The LIA does much work around the lake including managing the greeter program and boat wash station, overseeing various projects to reduce phosphorus and sediment runoff into the lake, working on controlling the infestation of Eurasian watermilfoil and preventing other invasives from entering the lake, and outreach to all lake users and lake property owners to provide information and education on best practices for maintaining the health of the lake and surrounding ecosystem.

St. George is a town in Chittenden County, Vermont, United States. The town was named for the patron saint of England. St. George has the smallest land area of any town in Vermont, though the incorporated cities of St. Albans, Vergennes, and Winooski are smaller. The population was 794 at the 2020 census.

The Seguin Covered Bridge, also called the Upper Covered Bridge and the Sequin Covered Bridge, is a wooden covered bridge that crosses Lewis Creek in Charlotte, Vermont on Roscoe Road. It was built about 1850, and is a distinctive variant of a Burr arch design. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

The Murray–Isham Farm, or more recently just the Isham Family Farm, is a historic farm property at 3515 Oak Hill Road in Williston, Vermont. The farm has been in active use since about 1850, most of them by the Isham family. The farmstead includes a c. 1850 Gothic Revival house and farm buildings of similar vintage. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992, and is the subject of a conservation easement preserving its agricultural character.

The Hinesburg Town Forest is located at the eastern end of Hayden Hill Road in eastern Hinesburg, Vermont. The forest covers of 836 acres (338 ha) of mixed woodland, and is managed by the town as a conservation and recreation resource. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016 as a good example of a municipally managed forest in the state of Vermont. The forest trails cross a local dairy farm through property tax easements arranged with the community, and as a result, cattle can sometimes be found grazing in the fields or even wandering along trails.

Cumbancha is a record label, booking agency and music publisher based in Charlotte, Vermont. The company was founded by ethnomusicologist and music producer Jacob Edgar in 2006. In 2007, Cumbancha Music Publishing was established to expand opportunities for artists, helping them license songs to various movies, television programs, and advertisements, including Boyhood, Grey's Anatomy, and High Maintenance. Cumbancha Booking was founded in 2010 to book tours for artists on and off the label, bringing them to venues such as Hollywood Bowl, Montreal Jazz Festival, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Lincoln Center, Central Park SummerStage, and Austin City Limits. Artists on the label include The Idan Raichel Project, Habib Koité and Bamada, Rupa & the April Fishes, Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars, The Touré-Raichel Collective, and Lakou Mizik, among many others. The name "Cumbancha" derives from the Cuban word of West African derivation meaning an impromptu musical gathering or party.

As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The one-member Chittenden-5-2 District had a population of 3,776 in that same census, 6.97% below the state average.
