Whitehaugh Oval is a cricket ground in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. It has been the home ground of Kelburne Cricket Club since their previous ground at Blackhall was lost to development in 1898. The new ground was opened with a match against West of Scotland on 29 April 1899.The first Scotland match held on the ground came in 1947 when they played a minor match against the touring South Africans. Scotland first played a first-class match there in 1952 against Ireland. The ground held five further first-class matches, the last of which saw Scotland play Ireland in 1960. Other teams to visit in first-class matches included Lancashire, Yorkshire and the touring Indians.

Paisley Grammar School is a secondary school in Paisley, the largest town in Renfrewshire, Scotland. The school was founded in 1576 by royal charter of King James VI and is situated on Glasgow Road. The school is recognised as one of Scotland's oldest schools with an established history. The present school building (which was called the 'Paisley Grammar School and William B. Barbour Academy' due to a bequest by the former Member of Parliament for Paisley, William B. Barbour, and until recently was the school's proper title) was opened in 1898 by Lord Balfour of Burleigh, then Secretary of State for Scotland.The school was fee paying until the mid-1960s and in 1986, when threatened with imminent closure by Strathclyde Regional Council, Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher intervened personally to ensure the survival of the school. The law was changed so that local councils could no longer close schools which were more than 80% full without approval by the Secretary of State for Scotland.Following a consultation, in January 2021, Renfrewshire Council approved plans for the school to be moved to a new site, approving construction of a Paisley Grammar School Community Campus at the old site of the Chivas Brothers Whiskey Distillery. The new community campus will move pupils and staff to a modern facility with outdoor areas, state-of-the-art technology, and high-quality media, drama and sports facilities not possible on the current site. The new school will neighbour West College Scotland’s Paisley Campus on Renfrew Road.

The River Cart Aqueduct, sometimes known as the Blackhall Bridge, is a railway bridge and former navigable aqueduct in Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. It opened in 1811 as an aqueduct to carry the Glasgow, Paisley and Johnstone Canal over the White Cart Water. Following the closure of the canal in 1881, it was converted to a railway bridge in 1885, and now carries the Paisley Canal Line. It is registered as a Category A listed building by Historic Environment Scotland.

Gallowhill is a housing estate in the north east of Paisley, a town in Renfrewshire, Scotland. Its approximate boundaries are formed by the M8 motorway to the north, the A741 Renfrew Rd to the west, to the south the Inverclyde railway line with Arkleston Farm making up the estate's eastern border. The most common types of housing are cottage flats and two storey tenements, although there are some three storey units and terraced housing in addition to two tower blocks (Gallowhill Court and Glencairn Court).

Hawkhead railway station is a railway station in the Seedhill area of Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. The station is managed by ScotRail and lies on the Paisley Canal Line, 6½ miles (10 km) west of Glasgow Central.

The Diocese of Paisley (Latin: Dioecesis Pasletana) is an ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Latin Church of the Catholic Church in Scotland. Erected on 25 May 1947 from the Archdiocese of Glasgow, the diocese covers the historic county of Renfrewshire (now the local government areas of Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire and Inverclyde) and is 580 km2 (220 sq mi) in area making it the smallest diocese by area in Scotland. In 2004 the Catholic population of the diocese was 79,400 out of a total population of 342,000 (23.2%). By 2016 membership increased to 88,600 (23,8%) out of a total population of 372,800. The diocese comprises 33 parishes served by 30 priests (2021 figures). The diocese is divided into three deaneries namely St Mirin's Deanery (Renfrewshire), St Mary's Deanery (Inverclyde) and St John's Deanery (East Renfrewshire).The mother house of the religious society the Jericho Benedictines is in the village of Kilbarchan, near the town of Johnstone within the diocese. The Diocese is led by the Bishop of Paisley, currently the Right Reverend John Keenan, the fifth bishop of the diocese. The mother church of the diocese and seat of the bishop is St Mirin's Cathedral in the town of Paisley. The motto of the diocese is "For the Good of Souls".

Abbey, or sometimes Abbey Paisley, is a civil parish in Renfrewshire, Scotland traditionally centred on the towns of Paisley and Johnstone and including the smaller settlements of Elderslie, Inkerman, Hurlet, Nitshill, the Dovecothall area of Barrhead, and the hamlets of Thorn and Quarrelton, now subsumed into Johnstone. The parish owes its name to Paisley Abbey, the central religious site in the county and the parish church.The town of Paisley fell entirely within the Abbey Parish until 1736, when three parishes were formed within the burgh: High, Middle and Laigh (Low). A small portion of the Abbey Parish remained within the burgh after this time. For religious purposes, the towns of Johnstone and Elderslie formed their own quoad sacra parishes.

St Mirin's Academy was a Catholic senior secondary school for boys founded in 1922 in Paisley, Scotland, and which closed in 1976. The school was dedicated to St Mirin, the patron saint of the town and of the Diocese of Paisley. The Academy's Latin motto was Fortis et Fidelis ("Brave and Faithful"). The original buildings were in East Buchanan Street next to St Mirin's Church. In 1933 the school relocated to new buildings in Renfrew Road. St Mirin's Academy ceased to exist in 1976 when it amalgamated with St Margaret's Senior Secondary (a girls' school) to become St Mirin's and St Margaret's High School, which moved into the buildings of the former John Neilson High School in 1990, and in turn was supplanted by St Andrews Academy in 2001; there has been no school in the town of Paisley named after St Mirin since then.Neil MacKinnon, the school's longest serving rector (1948–1975), died on 7 May 2009, aged 99.On 24 April 2010, the former St Mirin's Academy building, then part of the Reid Kerr College complex, was badly damaged by fire. Estimates of damages ran between £250,000 and £500,000. The building was demolished in October 2010.

The Cathedral Church of Saint Mirin in Paisley, dedicated to Saint Mirin the patron saint of Paisley, is the mother church of the Catholic Diocese of Paisley and is the seat of the Bishop of Paisley.
