Berlin ( bur-LIN) is a town in Washington County, Vermont, United States, founded in 1763. The population was 2,849 at the 2020 census. Being the town between Barre and Montpelier, the two largest cities in the region, much of the commercial business of the region can be found in Berlin, including parts of the Barre-Montpelier Road (U.S. Route 302), and the Berlin Mall.

Edward F. Knapp State Airport (IATA: MPV, ICAO: KMPV, FAA LID: MPV) is a general aviation airport located in Berlin, Vermont, United States; it is located three miles (5 km) west of the central business district of Barre. It serves both Barre and the Montpelier region. It currently has no scheduled airline service, but the airport was formerly served by Northeast Airlines and Air New England. The airport completed a major construction project in April 2010, constructing a new taxiway, as well as repaving the runway and expanding the apron near the terminal area. The $6.2 million project was funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

The Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital is the State of Vermont's primary hospital for involuntary mental health patients. It is located in the town of Berlin, Vermont, in Washington County. With 25 beds, it was opened in 2014 as a replacement for the Vermont State Hospital, which had been closed due to flooding from Tropical Storm Irene.The hospital was designed and constructed by local firms at a cost of $23 million.

The Washington-3-3 Representative District is a one-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census. The Washington-3-3 District includes all of the Washington County town of Berlin and a section of the City of Barre defined as follows: that portion of the City of Barre bound on the west by the Berlin town line, on the north and south by the Barre Town line, and on the east by a boundary running from the Barre Town northern boundary along the center of Beckley Street, then along the center of Third Street to North Main Street, then along the center of North Main Street to the intersection of Berlin Street, then along the center of Berlin Street to Prospect Street, then along the center of Prospect Street to the Barre Town line. The rest of the City of Barre is in Washington-3-1 and Washington-3-2. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The one member Washington-3-3 District had a population of 3,799 in that same census, 6.41% below the state average.

Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC) is the primary health care provider located in Berlin, Vermont providing care for the people of the central portion of Vermont. The medical staff numbers 121 physicians including nine community-based medical group practices. CVMC provide 24-hour emergency care, with 122 inpatient beds. CVMC is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. CVMC includes Woodridge Nursing Home.

Hapgood State Forest covers 118 acres (0.48 km2) in Peru, Vermont in Bennington County. The forest is managed by the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation and surrounds the summit of 3,260-foot Bromley Mountain. Much of this State Forest is leased to Bromley, Inc. to be operated as a ski area.

Boyer State Forest covers 354 acres (1.43 km2) in Berlin, Vermont in Washington County. The forest is managed by the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation. Activities in the forest include hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hunting and wildlife viewing.

The National Clothespin Factory is a historic industrial building at One Granite Street in Montpelier, Vermont. Built in 1918, it is a significant local example of an early 20th-century wood-frame factory, and was home to the nation's last manufacturer of wooden clothespins. Now adapted for other uses, the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Athenwood and the Thomas W. Wood Studio are a pair of distinctive historic buildings at 39 and 41 Northfield Street in Montpelier, Vermont, United States. The two Carpenter Gothic buildings were the home and studio of Thomas Waterman Wood (November 12, 1823 – April 14, 1903), an American painter and native of Montpelier. The buildings, now private residences, were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Association of Vermont Independent Colleges (AVIC) is a membership industry organization for independent Vermont higher education institutions. It was founded in 1982 and is located in Montpelier, the state capital. AVIC services school administrators and leaders of 12 private institutions, whose cooperative endeavors benefit member institutions as well as students and their families. AVIC is a member of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities. The organizational structure is a not-for-profit with a board, executive, and administrative staff.

College Hall is the central building of the campus of the Vermont College of Fine Arts in Montpelier, U.S. state of Vermont. Located prominently on Ridge Street atop Seminary Hill, this 1872 Second Empire building has been a major visual and architectural landmark in the city since its construction. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its architectural significance in 1975.

Vermont College of Fine Arts (VCFA) is a private graduate-level art school in Montpelier, Vermont. It offers Master's degrees in a low-residency format. Its faculty includes Pulitzer Prize finalists, National Book Award winners, Newbery Medal honorees, Guggenheim Fellowship and Fulbright Program fellows, and Ford Foundation grant recipients. The literary magazine Hunger Mountain is operated by VCFA writing faculty and students.
