Duval Township, Jasper County, Missouri

Duval Creek (also known as Little Spring River) is a stream in southwest Missouri, Its source is in southwest Barton County, about 8.5 miles (13.7 km) south-west of Lamar, and it flows south-south-west crossing under Missouri Route 126 and on entering Jasper County just to the east of Missouri Route Y. It continues on past the community of Cossville entering the North Fork of the Spring River just east of Missouri Route 43 in Jasper County, 9.5 miles (15.3 km) north of Webb City. The stream headwaters arise at 37°25′01″N 94°23′54″W and the confluence with the North Fork Spring River is at 37°17′09″N 94°28′49″W. The stream was named after a family of local settlers.

Galesburg is an unincorporated community in northwest Jasper County in southwest Missouri, United States. The community is located on the south bank of the Spring River, approximately twelve miles north of Joplin.

Nashville is a small unincorporated community in southwestern Barton County one mile north of the Barton-Jasper county line, near the western border of Missouri, United States. It is on Missouri Route AA one mile west of Route 43. The community is approximately twelve miles southwest of Lamar and 22 miles north of Joplin. Developed in a rural, farming area, Nashville was platted in 1869 after the American Civil War. The name is a transfer from Nashville, Tennessee. A post office called Nashville had been established in 1861, and remained in operation until 1959. Harlow Shapley was born at Nashville in 1885. He became a notable American astronomer and was director of the Harvard College Observatory (1921–1952).

KJMK (93.9 FM) is a classic hits radio station licensed to Webb City, Missouri and broadcasting from Joplin, Missouri, with an effective radiated power of 48,000 watts. KJMK used to be a part of the family-owned Zimmer Radio Group. The stations were sold in July 2007 to James Zimmer and he created a new company called Zimmer Radio, Inc.

KXDG (97.9 FM) is a mainstream rock radio station licensed to Webb City, Missouri, owned by Zimmer Radio Group. KXDG began broadcasting in HD Radio in 2006 and ceased HD Radio broadcast in 2014. It was the first radio station in the four-state area to begin multicasting. Its slogan is "Big Dog 97.9 Joplin's Rock Station and The 4 States Rocker Big Dog 97.9"

The North Fork Spring River is a stream in Lawrence, Dade, Barton and Jasper counties of southwest Missouri. It is a tributary to the Spring River. The headwaters are located in northwest Lawrence County at 37°17′07″N 93°55′18″W and the confluence with the Spring River is in Jasper County at 37°16′11″N 94°32′08″W. The stream source is an intermittent stream just south of the Dade-Lawrence county line and east of county road 1070. The stream flows west and then northwest crossing the county line and Missouri Route NN into Dade County just to the east of Missouri Route 97 and about one mile from the source. The stream crosses under Route 97 and flows northwest to exit Dade County and enter Barton County just east of Golden City. The stream flows north passing under U. S. Route 160 east of Golden City and again to the north as its course veers northwest. The stream crosses under 160 again as it passes northeast of Lamar. The stream turns to the west and the south as it passes Lamar and again passing under route 160 and flowing south paralleling U. S. Route 71. The stream crosses under Route 71 and flows south under Missouri Route 126 and on into Jasper County northwest of Jasper. The stream turns southwest passing north of Preston and meanders west past Neck City prior to its confluence with the Spring River west of the community of Galesburg. At Purcell, the river has a mean annual discharge of 507 cu ft/s (14.4 m3/s). The stream has historically been referred to as Dry Fork, Dry Fork Spring River, Muddy Creek, Muddy Fork Spring River and North Fork Creek.

The stream headwaters are located at 37°23′46″N 94°35′20″W and the confluence with the Spring River is at 37°15′07″N 94°33′10″W. The stream source is located in the southwest corner of Barton County about 3.5 miles west of the community of Nashville and three mile east of the Missouri–Kansas border. The stream flows south to southeast into northwest Jasper County and passes under state routes H and M to join the Spring River east of Waco and southwest of Galesburg.Blackberry Creek was named for the blackberry bushes lining its banks.
