Bensalem Township is a township in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, United States and borders the northeast section of Philadelphia. The township is composed of many communities, including Andalusia, Bensalem, Bridgewater, Cornwells Heights, Eddington, Flushing, Oakford, Siles, Trappe, and Trevose. Bensalem Township has no incorporated municipalities (city or borough) within its boundaries. As of the 2020 census, the township had a total population of 62,707, which makes it the most populated municipality in Bucks County and the tenth most populated municipality in Pennsylvania. The township, which was founded in 1692, is almost as old as Pennsylvania itself, which was founded in 1682.

Bensalem High School is a public high school in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.

Parx Casino and Racing (formerly Philadelphia Park Racetrack and Casino) is a Thoroughbred horse racing venue and the largest casino gaming complex in Pennsylvania. Parx is located in Bensalem Township in Bucks County, northeast of the city of Philadelphia. Owned and operated by Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment, Inc., Parx features 24-hour gaming with over 3,200 slot machines, 188 live table games, a poker room with 48 poker tables, live racing and simulcast action, sports betting, several dining options and bars, and the Xcite Center. Parx also offers online gambling and online sports betting along with off-track betting at two locations.

Little Jerusalem AME Church, also known as Bensalem AME Church, is a historic African Methodist Episcopal church located at 1200 Bridgewater Road in Cornwells Heights, Bensalem Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1830, and renovated about 1860 and 1896. It is a 1+1⁄2-story, one room frame structure with a gable roof. The cemetery surrounding the church contains burials of black Civil War soldiers.It is one of the oldest African American churches, having been established about 1820 by Rev. James Miller under the supervision of Richard Allen (1760–1831), founder of the AME Church. The pulpit of the church was built by Allen. The church served as a shelter in the Underground Railroad helping those fleeing slavery. It was the only traditionally African-American church in Bensalem Township from 1830 until 1930. Under the pastorate of Reverend John Butler, a sabbath school was established in 1848 to teach local African Americans to read and write.The site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Cornwells Heights-Eddington was a census-designated place (CDP) in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 3,406 at the 2000 census. For the 2010 census, the area was split into two CDPs, Cornwells Heights and Eddington, that are adjacent unincorporated communities within Bensalem Township. Cornwells Heights is located a bit southwest of Eddington. Both communities use the Bensalem ZIP code, 19020. The CDP was bounded on the south by Interstate 95, on the east by Street Road, on the north and west by Hulmeville Road, and on the west by Woodhaven Road. The Philadelphia city boundary is less than a mile to the west and north. The Delaware River is located 3.5 miles (5.6 km) to the south-southeast. Like neighboring Andalusia, the area consists of middle-class single-family homes along a series of grid-style streets. The main roads are generally accepted as Street Road, Hulmeville Road, and Brown Avenue.

Eddington is a census-designated place located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The community was part of Cornwells Heights-Eddington, which was split into two separate CDPs. As of the 2010 census, the population was 1,906. The community is served by the Eddington station along SEPTA Regional Rail's Trenton Line.

Parkwood is a neighborhood located in the Far Northeast section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The neighborhood's boundaries include the Byberry East Industrial Park to the north and northwest, Poquessing Creek to the east, Knights Road to the southeast and Woodhaven Road to the southwest. The neighborhood was developed by Hyman Korman in the 1960-62 as a planned residential community. The predominant housing type is the brick row house. The Parkwood Shopping Center is a local shopping destination, while the Philadelphia Mills mall is a regional shopping destination on Knights Road to the east of Parkwood's residential area.

Mechanicsville School is a former school building located in the Village of Mechanicsville neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1866–1867, and is a one-story, three-bay, vernacular stone building coated in stucco. It has a gable roof with wood cornice and brick chimney.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. It is now used as a private residence.

Eddington station is a SEPTA Regional Rail station in Bensalem Township, Pennsylvania. It is located on Street and Dunksferry Roads, 18.2 miles from 30th Street Station, and serves the Trenton Line. Its name derives from the surrounding CDP of Eddington. The station is in zone 3 on the SEPTA Trenton Line, on the Amtrak Northeast Corridor. In 2004, this station saw 38 boardings on an average weekday. Amtrak does not stop at this station. Eddington is a local station, with several express trains per day bypassing the station entirely. Of the trains that do stop, the station is almost always a flag stop except at rush hour. It is the only local station on the Trenton Line; all other stations receive consistent service throughout the day, although several are also flag stops. The former Pennsylvania Railroad depot at Eddington was burned down in late September 1956 as part of a suspected arson.

Byberry is a neighborhood in the far northeast section of Philadelphia, in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. Originally it was incorporated as the Township of Byberry and was the northeasternmost municipality of Philadelphia County before the City and County were consolidated in 1854. Its approximate boundaries are the Poquessing Creek to the north, Woodhaven Road to the south, the Roosevelt Boulevard to the west, and Thornton Road to the east. Byberry had a strong abolitionist presence and may have been an original stop on the Underground Railroad. Today, the area occupied by the township is mostly synonymous with the neighborhood of Somerton, as the neighborhoods of Byberry and Somerton tend to overlap.

Liberty Bell Park was an American race track in Northeast Philadelphia that held harness racing and Thoroughbred horse racing from 1963 until 1986. The site, northeast of the intersection of Knights and Woodhaven Roads, was derived from several farms and smaller farmettes. Gordon's Mill Rd, a street off of Knights Road east to the bridge over the Poquessing Creek, was stricken and vacated from the Philadelphia city plan in 1962 to make way for the racing facility. Gravel Pike, now Byberry Road, extended east to the Poquessing Creek where a small bridge carried the road into Bucks County; now it is a closed bridge. Creek Edge Gardens is still located in the 4300 block of Byberry Road, one of the last vestiges of the pre-1962 style of homes and business in this once pristine area. The harness track was a .625 miles (1.006 km) track, but when thoroughbred racing was made legal in 1968, a 1 mile (1.6 km) track was built using the homestretch and front of the harness track until Keystone Race Track (now Parx Casino and Racing) was built in 1974. The Philadelphia Mills shopping center now stands on the site, along with other stores such as Dick's Sporting Goods and Big Lots.

Philadelphia Mills (formerly and still referred to as Franklin Mills) is an enclosed shopping mall in Northeast Philadelphia, bordering Bensalem in Bucks County and 15 miles (24 km) from Center City. Formerly named for Benjamin Franklin, the mall is home to 125 stores, a movie theatre, a food court, and seven theme restaurants and was visited by an estimated 18 million people in 2006. The anchor stores are Dave & Buster's, Forever 21, Urban Planet, Saks Fifth Avenue, Marshalls, HomeGoods, American Freight, Walmart, AMC Theatres, and Burlington. Three currently vacant anchor stores once housed Phar-Mor, JCPenney, and Modell's Sporting Goods. Opened in 1989, Franklin Mills was the second built and formerly owned by the Mills Corporation and is now managed by the Simon Property Group. Along with the King of Prussia mall, Simon has control of Pennsylvania's two largest malls. On September 16, 2014, Simon Property Group renamed the mall from Franklin Mills to Philadelphia Mills.
