Dulag 121 camp in Pruszków (Durchgangslager 121 Pruszków) was a Nazi transit camp where civilian population from Warsaw and surrounding areas, expelled from their homes during and after the Warsaw Uprising, was gathered. The camp was established on 6 August 1944, on the premises of the former Railway Rolling Stock Repair Works in Pruszków. It operated until mid-December 1944, and in a residual form, until 16 January 1945. During this period, between 390,000 and 410,000 people passed through Dulag 121, among whom tens of thousands were deported to forced labor in the depths of the Reich or sent to concentration camps after a short stay in the camp. Due to diseases, exhaustion, or at the hands of guards, hundreds to several thousand prisoners of Dulag 121 perished. However, over 30,000 people managed to leave the camp thanks to the assistance of the Polish personnel employed there.

Pruszków [ˈpruʂkuf] (Yiddish: ‏פּרושקאָוו Prushkov) is a city in east-central Poland, situated in the Masovian Voivodeship since 1999. It was previously in Warszawa Voivodeship (1975–1998). Pruszków is the capital of Pruszków County, located along the western edge of the Warsaw urban area. In the 1990s and 2000s the city was synonymous with the "Pruszków gang", one of two major organised crime groups in the country. Currently it is best known for being the country's cycling centre with a purpose built indoor velodrome.

Pruszków County (Polish: powiat pruszkowski) is a unit of territorial administration and local government (powiat) in Masovian Voivodeship, east-central Poland. It came into being on January 1, 1999, as a result of the Polish local government reforms passed in 1998. Its administrative seat and largest town is Pruszków, which lies 15 kilometres (9 mi) west of Warsaw. The county also contains the towns of Piastów, lying 4 km (2 mi) north-east of Pruszków, and Brwinów, 7 km (4 mi) south-west of Pruszków. The county covers an area of 246.31 square kilometres (95.1 sq mi). As of 2019 its total population is 165,039, out of which the population of Pruszków is 62,076, that of Piastów is 22,619, that of Brwinów is 13,601, and the rural population is 66,743.

Konotopa [kɔnɔˈtɔpa] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Ożarów Mazowiecki, within Warsaw West County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland. It lies approximately 3 kilometres (2 mi) south-east of Ożarów Mazowiecki and 13 km (8 mi) west of Warsaw.

Pruszków railway station is a railway station in Pruszków, Poland. The station is served by Koleje Mazowieckie, who run trains from Skierniewice to Warszawa Wschodnia, Przewozy Regionalne, who run some services from Warszawa Wschodnia and Rzeszów Główny via Pruszków and by Szybka Kolej Miejska, who operate line S1 which begins at this station, runs on the suburban tracks of the Cross City Line and goes on to Otwock, terminating there.

Bronisze [brɔˈniʂɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Ożarów Mazowiecki, within Warsaw West County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland. It lies approximately 3 kilometres (2 mi) south-east of Ożarów Mazowiecki and 12 km (7 mi) west of Warsaw. The village has a population of 420.

Duchnice [duxˈnit͡sɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Ożarów Mazowiecki, within Warsaw West County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland. It lies approximately 14 km west from the center of Warsaw.

Komorów [kɔˈmɔruf] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Michałowice, within Pruszków County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland. It lies approximately 3 kilometres (2 mi) south-east of Pruszków and 15 km (9 mi) south-west of Warsaw. The village was founded in 1424. The name comes from the Slavic name Komor. It has its own suburban light railway station (Komorów) (Warszawska Kolej Dojazdowa). In 1956, novelist Maria Dąbrowska settled in Komorów. Her residence currently houses a local library.

Piastów [ˈpʲastuf] is a town in central Poland, near Warsaw, with 23,331 inhabitants (2006 est). It is situated in the Masovian Voivodship (since 1999); previously, it was in Warszawa Voivodship (1975–1998). With 3963 persons/km², it is the second most densely populated township in Poland (after Świętochłowice). In the Middle Age, the villages of Żdżary and Utrata existed in the place of today's' Piastów. Piastów is served by Piastów railway station.

The Battle of Pęcice took place on 2 August 1944 between military units of Armia Krajowa, belonging to the 4th Ochota Sub-district, and the German military during the Warsaw Uprising in Poland during World War II.
