Passaic Street Bridge

Monroe Street Bridge is bridge over the Passaic River in Passaic and Garfield, New Jersey. The 3-span reinforced concrete elliptical deck arch bridge was built in 1908. It was designed by Colin Wise and built by C.W. Dean and Company. It is 306 feet long and 30.2 feet wide.

Garfield is a New Jersey Transit train station served by the Bergen County Line in the city of Garfield. Located north of a trestle over Midland Avenue (County Route 67), the station consists of two low-level platforms with a shelter and a pair of ticket vending machines. Garfield station has hourly weekday inbound service to Hoboken Terminal/Secaucus Junction until the afternoon, with the last train leaving Garfield before 4:00 pm. Return service continues all day, with the last train stopping at approximately 1:00 am. Weekend service operates on a more frequent basis inbound.

The Cathedral of St. Michael the Archangel is a Byzantine Catholic (Ruthenian) cathedral located in Passaic, New Jersey, United States. It is the cathedral for the Eparchy of Passaic.

Market Street Bridge, also known as the Second Street Bridge, is a vehicular bridge over the Passaic River crossing the Passaic-Bergen county line in Passaic and Wallington in northeastern New Jersey. The double-leaf bascule bridge was built in 1930 and fixed in the closed position in 1977. It was reconstructed in 2002. It carries a two-lane street and sidewalks in a late-19th and early-20th century industrial area along the river. An earlier structure built at the crossing in 1894 was damaged during the Passaic floods of 1902 and 1903 but survived.It is one of three bridges crossing the river between the two municipalities, the others being the Gregory Avenue Bridge and the Eighth Street Bridge. Two other crossings of the Passaic have been known as Market Street Bridge, the since-removed Pennsylvania Railroad bridge at Newark Penn Station and the extant vehicular bridge at Paterson.

Wallington Jr./Sr. High School is a six-year comprehensive public high school that serves students in seventh through twelfth grades from Wallington, in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States, operating as the lone secondary school of the Wallington Public Schools. As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 590 students and 42.1 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 14.0:1. There were 116 students (19.7% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 31 (5.3% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

The Garfield Groundwater Contamination site is a Superfund site located in Garfield, New Jersey. The site was formally occupied by E.C Electroplating, an electroplating company that used chromic acid solution in their products. In 1983, a tank at the E.C Electroplating property malfunctioned and spilled chromic acid into the groundwater underneath the property that subsequently spread to the surrounding area. The contamination presented a health risk to Garfield residents in the area due to exposure to hexavalent chromium, a toxic form of chromium. The site was designated a Superfund site in 2011. Cleanup of the site is ongoing as of 2022.

Wallington is a borough in Bergen County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 11,868, an increase of 533 (+4.7%) from the 2010 census count of 11,335, which in turn reflected a decline of 248 (−2.1%) from the 11,583 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 755 (+7.0%) from the 10,828 counted in the 1990 Census.Wallington was created as a borough on January 2, 1895, based on a referendum held on December 31, 1894, from area taken from Bergen Township and Saddle River Township. The borough was formed during the "Boroughitis" phenomenon then sweeping through New Jersey, in which 26 boroughs were formed in Bergen County alone in 1894, with Wallington the last of the 26 to be formed by an 1894 referendum. Sections of Wallington were ceded to Garfield in 1898. The borough is said to have been named for Walling Van Winkle (1650–1725), who built a home in the future borough.

Botany Worsted Mills Historic District is located in Passaic, Passaic County, New Jersey. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 26, 1991.

St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church is a Catholic parish in Passaic, Passaic County, New Jersey, United States, in the Diocese of Paterson. It should not be confused with St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, also located in Passaic. The parish was founded in the 1860s by Franciscans from St. Bonaventure's in Paterson. In 1868, Bishop Bayley designated the community a parish and appointed a pastor, and a church and school were built on Prospect Street. The church was destroyed by fire in 1875 and replaced on the same site.Construction on the current church on Washington, State and Ann Streets began in 1885 and was completed around 1889. The church added to the National Register in 1979.

Gregory Avenue Bridge, earlier known as the Main Avenue Bridge, is road bridge over the Passaic River in northeastern New Jersey, United States. It is the 7th bridge to be built at the river crossing. Originally built in 1905 as a moveable bridge, it has been in a fixed closed position since 1985. A four lane road carries traffic between Passaic & Wallington at the Passaic and Bergen county line.

Bergen Arts and Science Charter School (BASCS/Bergen ASCS) is a public charter school based in Garfield, New Jersey, United States. The school is a part of the North Jersey Arts and Science Charter Schools. The network consists of Bergen-ASCS Elementary in Garfield, Bergen-ASCS Middle High in Hackensack, and Passaic-ASCS Elementary and Building #2 in Passaic. The school opened in September 2007 for grades K–5 and added a new grade every year until it reached the 12th grade. In 2011, it expanded with the establishment of the Bergen Arts and Science Charter School Middle High in Hackensack and Passaic Arts and Science School in Passaic. After the expansion was complete, Bergen Arts and Science Charter School moved its 7th and 8th grade to Bergen Arts and Science Charter School Middle High.As of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,208 students and 74.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 16.3:1. There were 448 students (37.1% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 163 (13.5% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Garfield is a city in Bergen County in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the city's population was 32,655, an increase of 2,168 (+7.1%) from the 2010 census count of 30,487, which in turn reflected an increase of 701 (+2.4%) from the 29,786 counted in the 2000 census.
