Japan (pronounced JAY-pan or JAY-pun) is an unincorporated community in southwest Franklin County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The community is located on Missouri Route AE 7.5 mile west-northwest of Sullivan.

Boone Creek (sometimes called Boones Creek) is a stream in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of the Bourbeuse River. It runs through Crawford and Franklin Counties. The stream headwaters are in Crawford County just north of the community of Coffeyton at 38°07′43″N 91°16′19″W. The stream flows north passing under Interstate 44 and then northeast past Bourbon then turns north and enters Franklin County. The stream flows north-northwest passing between Japan and Elmont to enter a meander on the Bourbeuse between Strain and Champion City at 38°18′02″N 91°17′20″W. Boone Creek bears the name of frontiersman Daniel Boone.

The community sits on a ridge at the intersection of Missouri routes 185 and AC approximately seven miles northwest of Sullivan. An incised meander of the Bourbeuse River lies one mile northwest of the community.

Winsel Creek (also called Windsell Creek) is a stream in Crawford and Franklin Counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of Spring Creek in Franklin County.The stream headwaters arise in northern Crawford County just west of Sullivan (at 38°11′57″N 91°11′10″W). The stream flows northeast past the north side of Sullivan and crosses under I-44 north of Oak Grove then turns to the northwest and crosses under I-44 again. The stream meanders to the northwest to its confluence with Spring Creek (at 38°16′36″N 91°11′19″W).Windsel derives its name from a local pioneer citizen named Windsell.

Opossum Creek (also called Possum Creek) is a stream in Franklin County in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of Big Creek. Opossum Creek was named for the abundance of opossums along its course.

On March 9, 2008, KTUI 100.9 FM switched frequencies to 102.1 FM. The radio stations' coverage areas in Missouri reach from St. James on the west to Pacific on the east, and New Haven on the north to Potosi on the south, covering several hundred square miles around the state. The FM station plays a mix of new and old country music, while the AM station enlightens listeners with talk radio.Effective March 31, 2020, Fidelity Broadcasting sold KTUI-FM and KTUI to Meramec Area Broadcasting LLC for $200,000. KTUI-FM is a member of the St. Louis Cardinals Radio Network.
