The Saint Nicholas Monastery Ukrainian: Миколаївський Мукачівський жіночий монастир (УПЦ МП) is an Eastern Orthodox monastery located on Chernecha Hora (monk's hill) in Mukachevo, Ukraine. It belongs to the jurisdiction of Eparchy of Mukachevo and Uzhhorod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate). It is a female monastery, headed by hegumenia Epistimiya Sherban.

Mukachevo (Ukrainian: Мукачево, pronounced [mʊˈkɑt͡ʃewo] ; Hungarian: Munkács; see name section) is a city in the valley of the Latorica river in Zakarpattia Oblast (province), in Western Ukraine serving as the administrative center of Mukachevo Raion (district). The city is a rail terminus and highway junction, and has beer, wine, tobacco, food, textile, timber, and furniture industries. During the Cold War, it was home to Mukachevo air base and a radar station. Mukachevo lies close to the borders of four neighbouring countries: Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, and Romania. Today, the population is 85,569 (2022 estimate). The city is a traditional stronghold of the Rusyn language, and the population of Mukachevo is officially reported as 77.1% ethnic Ukrainian. There are also significant minorities of: Russians (9.0%); Hungarians (8.5%); Germans (1.9%); and Roma (1.4%).While Uzhhorod is the main administrative city in the region, Mukachevo is a historic spiritual center of the region and center of the former Eastern Orthodox eparchy of Kyivan Metropolis. In 17th century it united with Catholic church by the Union of Uzhhorod, similar to the Union of Brest. Up until World War II and the Holocaust, Mukachevo was primarily a Jewish town, and half the population was Jewish (see below), the rest of the population being Russians, Hungarians, Slovaks, and other minorities. Formerly in Czechoslovakia, and before that in Hungary, it was incorporated into Soviet Ukraine after World War II.

Mukachevo urban territorial hromada (Ukrainian: Мукачівська міська територіальна громада, romanized: Mukachivska miska terytorialna hromada is a hromada of Ukraine, located in the western Zakarpattia Oblast. Its capital is the city of Mukachevo.Mukachevo urban hromada has a total population of 110,483, as of 2023. It additionally has an area of 266.9 km2 (103.1 sq mi).

The Palanok Castle or Mukachevo Castle (Ukrainian: Замок "Паланок", romanized: Zamok "Palanok"; Hungarian: Munkács vára or Munkácsi vár; German: Plankenburg) is a historic castle in the city of Mukacheve in the western Ukrainian oblast (province) of Zakarpattia. The Palanok Castle is delicately preserved, and is located on a 68-metre-high (223 ft) former volcanic hill. The castle complex consists of three parts: the high, middle, and low castle.

Pavshyno (Ukrainian: Пáвшино, German: Pausching, Hungarian: Pósaháza) is a village in Mukachevo Raion, Zakarpattia Oblast and a suburb of Mukachevo. Pavshyno is the site of a "Temporary Detention Centre" for refugees.

Kolchyno (Ukrainian: Кольчино; Hungarian: Kölcsény; Slovak: Kolčino) is an urban-type settlement in Mukacheve Raion, Zakarpattia Oblast, western Ukraine. The town's population was 4,407 as of the 2001 Ukrainian Census. Current population: 4,198 (2022 estimate).

Mukachevo Raion (Ukrainian: Мукачівський район, Hungarian: Munkácsi járás) is a raion (district) of Zakarpattia Oblast (province) of Ukraine. Mukachevo is the administrative center of the raion. Its population is 251,145 (2022 estimate).On 18 July 2020, as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, the number of raions of Zakarpattia Oblast was reduced to six, and the area of Mukachevo Raion was significantly expanded. The January 2020 estimate of the raion population was 99,518 (2020 est.).There are several alternative names used for this raion: Hungarian: Munkácsi járás, German: Rajon Mukatschewe, Russian: Мукачевский район, Slovak: Mukačevský rajón. Residents in seven villages of the raion have the option to learn the Hungarian language in a school or home school environment.

Mukachevo is an air base in Ukraine located 6 km southwest of Mukachevo. During the Cold War it served as a small interceptor base. The airfield had a loop taxiway with many parking revetments. The air base has since been moved to Stryi Air Base, leaving the airfield standing abandoned and empty. The base was home to the 92nd Fighter Aviation Regiment between 1951 and 1993. 486th Fighter Aviation Regiment between 1951 and 1960.

Shipka is a small military base near the city of Mukachevo (just outside a small village of Shenborn) in Ukraine. In the past it was a Soviet base that served the Soviet-installed Dnepr radar. In 1992 it was rented to Russia for 15 years. In 2009 the base stopped transferring data to Russia because the Russian authorities refused to continue paying for land lease which was increased in 2006. Formally, in 2008 Russia denounced the Russia-Ukraine agreement about rocket warning systems. Currently it is a base of the State Space Agency of Ukraine, "Національне космічне агентство України. Західний центр радіотехнічного спостереження", formally part of Mukachevo.

Kliucharky (Ukrainian: Ключарки; Hungarian: Várkulcsa) is a village in Ukraine located about 4 miles south west of Mukacheve in Zakarpattia Oblast. Other spellings/names for Klyucharki are: Kluĉárky, Kljucsarki, Klyucharky, and Pavsino. In Yiddish, Kliucharky was referred to as Klicherkes. In 2001, its population was 2,632.

Nove Davydkovo (Ukrainian: Нове Давидково, Hungarian: Újdávidháza, Russian: Новое Давыдково) is a small farming village in the suburbs of Mukachevo in Zakarpattia Oblast (province) of western Ukraine. It lies in a plain beneath the Palanok Castle near the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains. Historically, it was part of the Kingdom of Hungary from the 11th century until 1918, when it was called Uj-Dávidháza, meaning "David's new home." It was located in Bereg megyé (county) and Munkácsi járás (district). It then became part of Czechoslovakia (1918-1938), when the region was referred to as Podkarpatská Rus (Sub-Carpathia), and the town was called Nové Davidkovo. The region reverted to Hungary during World War II, and then was annexed to the Soviet Union, in 1945, until Ukrainian independence in 1991. Today, it is part of Mukachevo Raion and the Zakarpattia Oblast of Ukraine. Other spellings/names for Nove Davydkovo are: Novoye Davydkovo, Nove Davydkove and Nowe Dawydkowo. In Yiddish, it was referred to as Greis Davidkif. Nove Davydkovo is located about 4 miles West of Mukacheve.

Stare Davydkovo (Ukrainian: Стáре Давидкóво, Russian: Стáрое Давыдкóво, Hungarian: Ódávidháza) is a small farming village in the suburbs of Mukachevo (Munkács) in Zakarpattia Oblast, Ukraine. Historically, it was part of the Kingdom of Hungary from the 11th century until 1918, when it was called Ó-Dávidháza. The administrative district center was in the nearby village of Palanok and all events of birth, marriage and death were recorded there. It was located in Bereg megyé (county) and Munkácsi járás (district). It then became part of Czechoslovakia (1918–1938) when the region was referred to as Podkarpatská Rus (Sub-Carpathia), and called Stare Davidkovo. The region reverted to Hungary during World War II, and was then annexed to the Soviet Union in 1945 until Ukrainian independence in 1991. Today, it is part of Mukachevskiy (Mukachivs'kyy) rayon (district) and the Zakarpats'ka oblast (county) of Ukraine. Other spellings/names for Stare Davydkovo are: Staroye Davidkovo, Stare Davydkove, Davikova Sztaroje, Sztaroje Davidovo. In Yiddish, Stare Davydkovo was referred to as Kleina Davidkif. Stare Davydkovo was and still remains a small village of only a couple streets, bordering the road from Mukacheve to Uzhhorod, about 4 miles W of Mukacheve.
