The school is located above the Connellsville Area Senior High School. CACTC serves grades 11-12 Full-Time with core curriculum classes held at the school. Sophomore students attend part-time, while attending the Connellsville Area Senior High School for the core curriculum. The school is run by the Connellsville Area School District. In 2015, enrollment was reported as 279 pupils in 9th through 12th grades. The school employed 25 teachers.

Carnegie Free Library is a historic Carnegie library building located at Connellsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. It was designed and built in 1901, with funds partly provided by the philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. Carnegie provided $50,000 toward the construction of the Connellsville library. The grant was commissioned by Carnegie on April 22, 1899; it was the 13th library that he commissioned in America. It is a two-story Ohio buff stone structure with basement in the Italian Renaissance Revival style. The exterior features a terra cotta cornice and red Spanish tile roof. It measures 92.2 feet (28.1 m) by 74.6 feet (22.7 m).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.

It was built in 1906, as a one-story, open bank building. It was remodeled during the 1930s, to be two-stories. It has two Classical Revival facades, featuring four, two-story Ionic order columns supporting a pediment on each side.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

It was built about 1895, and is a 2+1⁄2-story building with Richardsonian Romanesque and Queen Anne style design details. The stone-clad building features a two-story inset porch, a sloped stone parapet, and three-story tower with decorative frieze.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Connellsville is a city in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, United States, 36 miles (58 km) southeast of Pittsburgh and 50 miles (80 km) away via the Youghiogheny River, a tributary of the Monongahela River. It is part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The population was 7,031 at the 2020 census.

The Connellsville Coalfield is located in Fayette County and Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, between the city of Latrobe and the small borough of Smithfield. It is sometimes known as the Connellsville Coke Field. This is because the section of the Pittsburgh coal seam here was famous as one of the finest metallurgical coals in the world. It is locally known as the Connellsville coal seam, but is a portion of the Pittsburgh seam. Coal was mined in this field from the early 19th century. Actual coking of the coal was first tried near Connellsville in the 1840s. After the Civil War a beehive coke industry gained a foothold in the region. The heyday of the Connellsville Coalfield was from the 1880s to the 1920s. At least 60 coal towns, known as "coal patches", were constructed in the field. H.C. Frick Coal and Coke - a subsidiary of U.S. Steel after 1903 - was the major player. Other notable industrialists included Josiah Van Kirk Thompson, W. J. Rainey, and Philip Cochran. In an event known as the Morewood massacre in the early morning of April 2, 1891, local law enforcement shot into a crowd of striking United Mine Workers miners from the Morewood Coke Works, near Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania. Seven miners died on the scene, and three more later died from their injuries. The coalfield endured a long decline in the beehive coke industry and a gradual exhaustion of the coal reserves. Connellsville Armory is a historic National Guard armory located at Connellsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. It was designed by Pittsburgh architects W.G. Wilkins Co. It was built in 1907, and consists of a two-story administration section with a rear one-story drill hall in a "T"-plan. The 55 foot by 110 foot building is constructed of brick on a coursed ashlar foundation. It has a number of Tudor Revival / Late Gothic Revival style details including a two-story entrance arch, a gabled parapet, and brick polygonal towers.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
