Carnaross or Carnaros (Irish: Carn na Ros) is a village in County Meath, Ireland, approximately 4 km northwest of Kells on the R147 road between Kells and Virginia, County Cavan.

Drumbaragh or Drumbarrow or Boherboy (Irish: Droim Bearach, meaning 'shorn hill' or 'grazed or bare ridge') is a townland and village in County Meath, Ireland, 5.2 kilometres (3.2 miles) west of the town of Kells. The townland had a population of 180 in 2011. The Drumbaragh Emmets Gaelic football club (GFC) represents the area.

Balrath Demesne (Irish: Diméin Bhaile na Rátha) is a townland in County Meath, Ireland. It is located 4 km (2.5 mi) southwest of the town of Kells. Its population was 36 in 2011. The wall of an ancient chapel and a cemetery remain here, on the grounds of the former estate, Balrath Bury.

The Spire of Lloyd in Kells, Ireland is an 18th-century folly in the form of a Doric column, surmounted by a glazed lantern. Sometimes described as "Ireland's only inland lighthouse", it was designed by architect Henry Aaron Baker. It was reputedly commissioned by Thomas Taylour, 1st Earl of Bective as a memorial to his father.The tower is located on the Hill of Lloyd, making this 40 kilometres from the coast and is around 30 m (100 ft) high. From the top there are views of the surrounding countryside as far as the Mourne Mountains in County Down, Northern Ireland on a clear day. The tower was used to view horse racing and the hunt in the nineteenth century. A plaque on the tower reads: This pillar was designed by Henry Aaron Baker Esq. architect was executed by Mr. Joseph Beck stone cutter Mr. Owen Mc Cabe head mason Mr. Bartle Reilly overseer Anno 1791.The area around the tower has been developed as a community park, and includes a paupers' grave, where Mass is still celebrated annually in memory of the Great Famine.

Kilskeer or Kilskyre is a townland and small village in County Meath, Ireland, 10 kilometres (6 miles) southwest of the town of Kells. It is the birthplace of Brian O'Higgins, the revolutionary and poet who was president of Sinn Féin in the 1930s. Jim Connell, the political activist and writer of the socialist anthem "The Red Flag", was born in the nearby townland of Rathniska.

Crossakiel or Crossakeel (Irish: Crosa Caoil, meaning "the crosses of Caol") is a village in County Meath, Ireland. It is situated in the north-west of the county, at the junction of the R154 and the L2801, approximately 13 km south of Oldcastle and 12 km north of Athboy.

The Abbey of Kells (Mainistir Cheanannais in Irish) is a former monastery in Kells, County Meath, Ireland, 64 kilometres (40 mi) north of Dublin. It was founded in the early 9th century, and the Book of Kells was kept there during the later medieval and early modern periods before finally leaving the abbey in the 1650s. Much of the Book of Kells may have been created there, but historians cannot be certain of the exact date and circumstances of its creation.

Kells railway station was a railway station in Kells, County Meath, Ireland. The station opened in 1853. It was established by the Dublin and Drogheda Railway to serve a new branch from the Dublin–Navan railway line. The branch was closed to passengers in 1958, and closed for all uses in 1963.

Kilian, also spelled Cillian or Killian (or alternatively Irish: Cillín; Latin: Kilianus), was an Irish missionary bishop and the Apostle of Franconia (now the northern part of Bavaria), where he began his labours in the latter half of the 7th century. His feast day is 8 July.
