Old Bittermann Building

Bitterman Building, also known as The New Bitterman Building, is a historic commercial building located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. It was designed by the architecture firm Clifford Shopbell & Co. and built in 1923. It is a three-story, rectangular brick building with limestone facing. It features Chicago school style openings. The building adjoins the Old Bittermann Building.: 2, 3 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Integra Bank Corporation was the parent of Integra Bank National Association, a retail bank headquartered in Evansville, Indiana that failed on July 29, 2011. As of March 31, 2010, Integra Bank had $2.9 billion in total assets and operated 67 banking centers and 116 ATMs at locations in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. The Second Renaissance Revival building was constructed in 1913, and originally housed the National City Bank.The company's stock was traded on NASDAQ until it was delisted on May 2, 2011.On Friday, July 29, 2011, Integra Bank National Association (N.A.), Evansville, was closed by the Comptroller of the Currency. Subsequently, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) was named receiver. All deposit accounts, excluding certain brokered deposits, were transferred to Old National Bank. The company then filed for bankruptcy. A post-mortem audit by the Department of the Treasury found that the bank's decision to actively pursue commercial loans in large cities such as Chicago and Cincinnati was a major contributor to the bank's failure. During its decline through the Great Recession, Integra sold many assets and took more than $83 million in TARP funds. Despite these efforts, in its final full year of operation, Integra lost $124 million. The bank still owed US tax payers and the US government $81,635,660.The company offered a variety of banking services that included commercial, consumer and mortgage loans, lines of credit, transaction accounts, credit cards, letters of credit, corporate cash management services, correspondent banking services, mortgage servicing, annuity products and services, selected insurance products, safe deposit boxes, and personal and corporate trust services.The bank is not related to the former Integra Bank of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, that was bought out by National City in 1995. Coincidentally, Integra was itself once known as National City until adopting the current name in 2000, likely changing it due to the expanding presence of the much larger National City and the two having overlapping territories. Despite PNC Financial Services buying out the larger National City in late 2008, Integra Bank kept the name it has had for nine years.

The Grein Building, also known as the Waverly Block, Business Men's Association Building, BMA Building, or Green Building, was constructed from 1887–1889 in Evansville, Indiana. It was designed by Reid & Reid (the Reid brothers) and demolished in 1972. It was a 6-story brownstone and red granite Renaissance revival style building at 12 NW 2nd Street on the corner of 2nd Street and Sycamore Avenue.Originally the Business Men's Association building (a predecessor to the chamber of commerce), it was built on the site of the original Assumption Catholic Church and featured an 18-foot rusticated arch over its main entrance. The Grand Opera was adjacent. It was home to the Mercantile Commercial Bank before becoming known as the Grein Building when it was sold to Ann Grein in 1938. It was the "headquarters of Evansville’s mid-century oil boom" and had offices for prominent local lawyers. It was torn down in 1972 along with the Grand Theater and Vendome hotel, as part of an urban redevelopment project. The site became a parking garage.

Fifth Third Center is a skyscraper located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. The building has 15 stories and rises to a height of 226 ft (68.9 m) with 180,500 square feet (16,770 m2), and has an attached parking garage for about 450 cars on the south end of the building. It is currently the tallest building in Evansville. Jones & Mah designed the building in 1979 for Citizens National Bank, a Fifth Third Bank predecessor.

German Bank is a historic commercial building located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. It was built in 1857, and is a three-story, Italianate style brick building. The building features a corner tower, encaustic tile, a decorative cornice, and three-story cast iron porch.: Part 1, p. 17 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Greyhound Bus Terminal in downtown Evansville, Indiana, also known as the Greyhound Bus Station, is a Streamline Moderne-style building from 1938. It was built at a cost of $150,000. Its architects include W.S. Arrasmith who designed numerous other Greyhound depots. The terminal, at the corner of Third and Sycamore streets, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.In July 2008, the long-unused bus terminal and its site had been considered in discussions about potential locations for a new arena that would replace Roberts Municipal Stadium. By December, city council approved plans to build the Ford Center in another downtown location.In December 2011, then Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel announced plans to turn the adjacent property into Bicentennial Park to celebrate the city's upcoming bicentennial in 2012.In 2016, a restaurant named Bru Burger opened inside the old terminal.

Ridgway Building is a historic commercial building located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. It was built in 1860 and remodeled in 1895, and is a 3+1⁄2-story brick building. It features 2+1⁄2-story buff brick arched bays and orange terra cotta ornamentation.: 2, 3 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Cadick Apartments, also known as the Plaza Building, is a historic apartment building located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. It was built in 1916, and is a three-story, Beaux-Arts style brick and limestone building. It is located next to the Busse House.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Busse House, also known as the Visiting Nurse Association, is a historic home located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. It was designed by the architectural firm Harris & Shopbell and built in 1901 for a prominent local physician. It is a 2+1⁄2-story, Queen Anne style limestone dwelling. It is located next to the Cadick Apartments.: Part 1, p. 25 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The McCurdy Hotel is a historic building in the Riverfront District of Evansville, Indiana. It was designed by architect Henry Ziegler Dietz and built in 1916–1917 in the Colonial Revival style. The McCurdy was constructed on the former site of the St. George Hotel, which was razed in 1915. It opened for business on June 17, 1917, and closed on March 16, 1969, due to bankruptcy. In Spring 2017, the McCurdy Hotel building was reopened as redeveloped apartments.: Part 1, p. 16  President Harry Truman stayed at the McCurdy while conducting a campaign stop in Evansville during the 1948 United States presidential election.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Kuebler–Artes Building is a historic commercial building located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. It was designed by the architecture firm Shopbell & Company and built in 1915.
