Holmes Street Bridge

The Shakopee Bridge is a four-lane vehicular bridge crossing the Minnesota River between Chanhassen and downtown Shakopee. The bridge carries Scott County Road 101 (CR 101) traffic (formerly State Highway 101) across the bridge. This bridge opened in 1993, one city block downstream from a two-lane bridge it replaced. The old two-lane bridge remains in place as a pedestrian/bicycle bridge. It is locally known as the Holmes Street Bridge and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Early Shakopee Houses are a pair of houses located at 411 and 419 East 2nd Avenue, Shakopee, Minnesota, United States. They are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.The houses are built mainly of brick, which was quite common in Scott County, even for modest residential dwellings. These two houses, as with other structures in Scott County, were designed by local builders, not by well-known architects, but they show the influence of major architectural styles as interpreted by area residents and builders. The houses date back to about 1865, when the county was experiencing a phase of growth associated with the construction of railroads. The Minnesota Valley Railroad, later part of the Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis and Omaha Railway, built its line through Shakopee in 1865. Shakopee had been established as a river town in 1854, but the growth of railroad lines in the county accelerated Shakopee's growth. The Merchants Hotel and these two houses in Shakopee, along with the Hooper–Bowler–Hillstrom House and the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Belle Plaine and several buildings in the Jordan Historic District in Jordan, were nominated to the National Register as examples of the development in the railroad boom era in Scott County.

The Julius A. Coller House was the home of Julius A. Coller I, (1859–1940), born in Shakopee, Minnesota, United States, of German descent. He served as Scott County attorney, bank president, and state senator (1899–1914). He facilitated getting the Women's Reformatory located in Shakopee.

The Herman Schroeder House and Livery is a historic residence in Shakopee, Minnesota, United States. The house and outbuilding were constructed in 1880 for Herman Schroeder (1854–1922), the longtime owner of Shakopee's most successful brickyard and an influential civic leader. Both buildings feature ornate brick detailing, including on an outhouse addition to the livery. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2023 for its significance in the theme of art. It was nominated for its association with Schroeder, a German immigrant whose signature red "Shakopee" bricks were used in numerous buildings throughout the region.

The Minnesota Correctional Facility – Shakopee (MCF-SHK) is a women-only state prison in Minnesota, USA.Constructed in 1986 and located in Shakopee, Scott County, it is Minnesota's only facility for housing female offenders.MCF-SHK is home to 500+ women of all five custody levels. The Facility consists of ten buildings, including six inmate living areas (including a chemical dependency treatment unit, parenting unit and education unit), a mental health unit and a segregation facility, an industries building, and administration and engineering related buildings. The prison previously had no perimeter fence or wall, only a hedge surrounding the property until 2016. This was after a bonding bill passed by the legislature of Minnesota in 2014 allowing for the erection of a twelve foot fence to surround the prison. Despite previously having no fence or wall only eight prisoners have been able to escape but all were later caught.MCF-SHK is home to a chemical dependency treatment unit, a program that promotes and teaches good parenting skills, and was formerly home to a work-release style program for women. Cosmetology, office support classes, as well as several college courses are also offered to the women.

Shakopee ( SHAH-kə-pee) is a city in and the county seat of Scott County, Minnesota, United States. It is located southwest of Minneapolis. Sited on the south bank bend of the Minnesota River, Shakopee and nearby suburbs comprise the southwest portion of Minneapolis-Saint Paul, the sixteenth-largest metropolitan area in the United States, with 3.7 million people. The population was 43,698 at the 2020 census.The river bank's Shakopee Historic District contains burial mounds built by prehistoric cultures. In the 18th century, Chief Shakopee of the Mdewakanton Dakota established his village on the east end of this area near the water. Trading led to the city's establishment in the 19th century. Shakopee boomed as a commerce exchange site between river and rail at Murphy's Landing. Once an isolated city in the Minnesota River Valley, by the 1960s the economy of Shakopee was tied to that of the expanding metropolitan area. Significant growth as a bedroom community occurred after U.S. Highway 169 was realigned in 1996 toward the new Bloomington Ferry Bridge. The city is known for the Valleyfair amusement park and the Canterbury Park racetrack.

Shakopee High School is a four-year public high school as of fall 2018 located in Shakopee, Minnesota, United States. The school district serves nearly 8,380 students in Shakopee, Savage, Prior Lake, and the Jackson, Louisville, and Sand Creek Townships. The district is located in one of the fastest-growing suburbs in the Twin Cities. The high school received a major expansion and was reopened after a summer of construction in the fall of 2018.

KQSP (1530 AM) was a radio station licensed to Shakopee, Minnesota and serving the western suburbs of Minneapolis. Last owned by Nevada Radio, LLC, the station, when on the air, passed through the master schedule of the USA Radio Network with no locally originated programming outside station identifications, along with radio coverage of NASCAR from the circuit's three radio networks (though as of 2023, the websites of those networks did not contain KQSP as an affiliate). The station's transmitter site was in Chanhassen. KQSP's nighttime range with ten watts barely covered its community of license.

The Strunk–Nyssen House is a historic property in Jackson Township, Minnesota, United States, just outside the city of Shakopee. The original wing of the house was built around 1856 for Herman H. Strunk, who established the area's first brewery on the site. The brewery went by several names over the course of its existence, but is commonly referred to as the Shakopee Brewery. The residence was enlarged around 1880 by Hubert and Mary Nyssen, who used the second floor as a boarding house. The Nyssens continued operating the brewery until 1920.The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 for its significance in the themes of architecture, commerce, exploration/settlement, and industry. It was nominated for its long association with the important brewing industry of early Scott County and as an example of 19th-century vernacular architecture.

The Shakopee Historic District is a historic district in Shakopee, Minnesota, United States. Stretching along the south bank of the Minnesota River, it encompasses pre-contact Native American habitation and burial sites, a contact-era Dakota village, early Euro-American buildings, and a ferry landing. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972 for its significance in the themes of prehistoric archaeology, aboriginal historical archaeology, non-aboriginal historical archaeology, and architecture.The western end of the district has been developed into Shakopee's Memorial Park, while the eastern side is The Landing, a living history village operated by Three Rivers Park District.

St. Francis Regional Medical Center is a not-for-profit regional medical center located on the southwestern edge of the Twin Cities metropolitan area in Shakopee, Minnesota. St. Francis was founded by a small group of Franciscan Sisters in 1938 and is currently owned by Allina Health, HealthPartners Park Nicollet and Essentia Health.

Jackson Township is a township in Scott County, Minnesota, United States. Organized in 1858, Jackson Township's population was 1,361 at the 2000 census. While the origin of its name is not recorded, it is most likely named after President Andrew Jackson.
