The Museo Arqueológico Municipal de El Puerto de Santa María is a museum located in El Puerto de Santa María, in the province of Cádiz, southern Spain. It was founded in 1980. It contains paintings and sculptures of Francisco Lameyer, Eulogio Varela Sartorio, Enrique Ochoa, Fernando Jesús, Juan Lara, Manolo Prieto, and some works of Rafael Alberti. Some pieces are exhibited in another building called Hospitalito.

The Priory Church (Spanish: Iglesia Mayor Prioral) is a minor basilica church in El Puerto de Santa María, province of Cádiz, Spain. It is documented from 1486 when the building was under construction. It was damaged by an earthquake in the 17th century and was partly rebuilt in the Baroque style. As a result of being constructed in two phases, the church contains both Gothic and Baroque architecture, exemplified in its portals. It was declared Bien de Interés Cultural (a category in the Spanish heritage register) in 1982.

Castle of San Marcos (also Castillo de Alfonso X El Sabio) is a medieval castle located in El Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz, Spain. The castle was erected as a fortified church by King Alfonso X of Castile. It was built on the site of a mosque of which the wall of the qibla survives. Close to the castle there is a replica of the map of Juan de la Cosa, along with an explanatory plaque; and a little fountain.

The House of Vizarrón (Spanish: La Casa Vizarrón o de las Cadenas) is a house located in El Puerto de Santa María, Spain. It was declared Bien de Interés Cultural in 2006.

El Puerto de Santa María (Spanish pronunciation: [el ˈpweɾto ðe ˈsanta maˈɾi.a], lit. "the Port of Saint Mary"), locally known as El Puerto and historically in English as Port Saint Mary, is a municipality of Spain located on the banks of the Guadalete River in the province of Cádiz, Andalusia. As of 2016, the city has a population of c. 88,184, of which some 50,000 live in the urban center, and the remainder in the surrounding areas. The town of El Puerto de Santa María is located 10 km (6 mi) northeast of Cádiz, across the bay of Cádiz.

The Battle of Guadalete was the first major battle of the Umayyad conquest of Hispania, fought in 711 at an unidentified location in what is now southern Spain between the Christian Visigoths under their king, Roderic, and the invading forces of the Muslim Umayyad Caliphate, composed mainly of Berbers and some Arabs under the commander Ṭāriq ibn Ziyad. The battle was significant as the culmination of a series of Berber attacks and the beginning of the Umayyad conquest of Hispania. Roderic was killed in the battle, along with many members of the Visigothic nobility, opening the way for the capture of the Visigothic capital of Toledo.

Monasterio de la Victoria is a former monastery located in El Puerto de Santa María, province of Cádiz, southern Spain. It was built in the 16th century by Dukes of Medinaceli. The buildings housed a prison between 1886 and 1981. During the Second Spanish Republic, the Civil War and Franco's Dictatorship, the Monastery was used as a prison. During and after the civil war, it housed political prisoners such as Ramón Rubial, then president of the Socialist Party and Eleuterio Sánchez, AKA el Lute.

San Pedro is a small stream in the province of Cádiz, Spain, close to Guadalete river. It runs for 25 km into the Bay of Cádiz. It flows by Bahía de Cádiz Natural Park.

The Puerto Real Campus is one of the four campuses housing the University of Cádiz. It is located at the municipal limits of Puerto Real (Cádiz), together with the San Pedro river and the neighborhood of the same name. It is located within Bahía de Cádiz Natural Park. It is well-connected with all the localities in the bay of Cádiz and several nearby (Jerez, Sanlúcar, Chipiona, Arcos and the white towns of the mountain range, accessibly by bus or commuter train.

The Battle of Cádiz was an attempt by English and Dutch forces to seize the southern Spanish port of Cádiz in 1702 during the War of the Spanish Succession. The Andalusian port of Cádiz served as the centre of Spanish trade with its American colonies. As such, the port's capture would not only help to sever Spain's links with her empire in the Americas, but it would also provide the Allies with a strategically important base from which the English and Dutch navies could control the western Mediterranean Sea. The military build-up was accompanied by Allied diplomatic measures in Portugal aimed at enticing King Peter II to join the Grand Alliance. The Allies also intended to garner support in Spain for an insurrection in the name of the Austrian pretender to the Spanish throne, the Archduke Charles. The battle was the first of the war in the Iberian Peninsula, but due to interservice rivalry, ill discipline, poor co-operation, and a skilful defence from the Marquis of Villadarias, Admiral George Rooke was unable to complete his objective and, after a month, he set sail for home.

The Port of Cadiz Bay is a port facility in Cadiz Bay serving the city and province of Cádiz in southern Spain. It consists of Cadiz harbour, Cabezuela on the south side of the bay, and Puerto de Santa Maria to the north.
