Pete's Eats is a cafe in Llanberis, North Wales, popular amongst walkers and climbers in the Snowdonia region of mountains. Llanberis, at the foot of Snowdon, is one of the traditional starting points for climbs in the Snowdonia National Park. The cafe has long been an important centre for climbers, described as "one of the most famous mountaineering hangouts in Britain". It even received a small mention in the New York Times as "cheap and filling" and "rowdy fun".

Llyn Padarn is a glacially formed lake in Snowdonia, Gwynedd, north Wales, and is an example of a moraine dammed lake. The lake is approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) long (about 240 acres) and at its deepest point is 94 feet (29 m) deep, and is one of the largest natural lakes in Wales. At its south-eastern end it is linked to the neighbouring Llyn Peris (which forms the lower reservoir of the Dinorwig power station). The busy village of Llanberis lies on the southern banks of the lake. Most of Llyn Padarn is owned by Gwynedd Council and is part of Padarn Country Park. In April 2014 Llyn Padarn was designated as Bathing Water under the Bathing Water Directive (2006/7/EC). The outflow of Llyn Padarn is on the northern shore and is called Afon Rhythallt, which passes by the village of Brynrefail, Gwynedd and becomes Afon Seiont below Pont Rhythallt, near Llanrug. It reaches the sea at Caernarfon. Padarn Country Park is located on the northern flank of the lake, including Coed Allt Wen, a rare and ancient sessile oak woodland. Both the woodland and Llyn Padarn are designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest. The Llanberis Lake Railway also runs along its eastern bank and various recreational activities take place on the lake, especially during the summer. These include canoeing, boating and fishing. The lake was the venue for the rowing events of the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games. Former local bus company Padarn Bus, which operated between 1979 and 2014 from a base at nearby Llanberis, was named after the lake.Llyn Padarn is named after Padarn, an early 6th century saint, who has a church dedicated to him in Llanberis.

The 1993 Llyn Padarn helicopter crash occurred on 12 August 1993, when an RAF Westland Wessex helicopter, serial number XR524, with 3 crew and 4 passengers (all of them Air Training Corps cadets) on board suffered a catastrophic tail rotor failure and plunged into Llyn Padarn, a lake in North Wales. Three passengers were killed.

Llanberis (; Welsh: [ɬanˈbɛrɪs] (listen)) is a village, community and electoral ward in Gwynedd, northwest Wales, on the southern bank of the lake Llyn Padarn and at the foot of Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales. It is a centre for outdoor activities in Snowdonia, including walking, mountaineering, climbing, mountain biking and pony trekking, as well as water sports such as scuba diving. The community includes Nant Peris. Llanberis takes its name from Saint Peris, an early Welsh saint. It is twinned with the Italian town of Morbegno in Lombardy.

Llanberis railway station was located in Llanberis, Gwynedd, Wales. It was a short walk from the Llanberis station of the Snowdon Mountain Railway. It opened 1 July 1869, and closed for regular passenger services in 1930. But it was still used by summer excursion trains until 7 September 1962 and freight services until 3 September 1964.The last fare-paying passenger service was an enthusiasts' special on 20 October 1964.An engine shed stood between the goods yard and the 42' turntable beyond the end of the platform. From 1948 to 1962 some excursion trains used an observation car which was turned round on the turntable so occupants always had an open view. The shed closed around 1915 and had been demolished by 1919. The goods yard was the last part of the working railway to close. The station had a ticket platform at its northern end. A LMS caravan was sited opposite from 1934 to 1939. A camping coach was also positioned here by the London Midland Region from 1954 to 1959 (two coaches in 1954 only).The line was lifted in 1965. The station site and most of the trackbed as far as Cwm-y-Glo are now occupied by the improved A4086, which bypasses the centre of Llanberis. In 2015 the original station building was in use as a craft shop.

Bangor University Boat Club(BUBC) is the rowing club of Bangor University run for and by the university's students. The club's home water is Llyn Padarn in the nearby village of Llanberis, approximately 20 minutes outside Bangor, Gwynedd, Wales. The club has a membership base of experienced and novice rowers. BUBC competes in BUCS events throughout the year and its members attend local head races and regattas.

The line and station primarily serve tourists and railway enthusiasts.Most of the LLR was laid around 1970 on the trackbed of the closed and lifted Padarn Railway. The line opened between Gilfach Ddu (LLR) and Cei Llydan on 28 May 1971, being extended northwards to Penllyn (LLR) in 1972. For thirty years the new line's southern terminus was Gilfach Ddu (LLR), situated a short distance south of the site of the Padarn Railway's former workmen's station, also named Gilfach Ddu. In 2003 a wholly new extension was opened south westwards, with Llanberis (LLR) station as the line's new southern terminus. The single platform station stands opposite Llanberis (SMR) station, the lower terminus of the Snowdon Mountain Railway, and not far from the site of the long-closed Llanberis standard gauge station.

Llanberis (SMR) railway station is the lower terminus of the Snowdon Mountain Railway, located in Llanberis, Gwynedd, Wales. The station houses the headquarters of the tourist railway which climbs for 4.7 miles (7.6 km) from Llanberis to the summit of Snowdon, the highest peak in Wales. The station stands in the valley bottom at an altitude of (353 ft (108 m)), the summit station stands at 3,493 feet (1,065 m), 68 feet (21 metres) below the summit of the mountain. The station opened with the railway on 6 April 1896, but closed the same day following an accident. It reopened on 9 April 1897, without mishap and has operated since, even throughout most of the Second World War, as there was military activity near the mountaintop.The station has two platforms. The first stretch of line is uphill at 1 in 50, steep for a main line but shallow compared with the 1 in 6 incline that begins shortly afterwards. The line's engine shed and workshop are visible from the platform ends.

Cae Mabon is a retreat centre in North Wales, set in an oak forest close to the disused Dinorwic Quarry and on the opposite side of the Padarn lake from the town of Llanberis. The centre has been run by its founder, local storyteller, author, and songwriter Eric Maddern, since 1989 and is well regarded for the beauty of its natural setting as well as the architecture of its alternative, low-impact buildings. In 2008, Cae Mabon was placed as the number one natural building project in the United Kingdom in the top ten list compiled by Professor Tom Woolley for sustain magazine. In the same year, the local authority granted retrospective planning permission on all the centre's alternatively constructed buildings, after support was shown for Cae Mabon by prominent local figures, including Dafydd Iwan. The name Cae Mabon means 'Field of Mabon' in Welsh, referring to Mabon ap Modron, a character from the Mabinogion.

Waterfall railway station was the first intermediate stop on the Snowdon Mountain Railway, located on the southern edge of Llanberis, Gwynedd, Wales.

Gilfach Ddu (also known as the Dinorwic Slate Quarry Workshops) are a series of well preserved Grade I listed industrial buildings built to serve the Dinorwic slate quarry near the Llanberis in Caernarfonshire, North Wales. The workshops are a complex of repair and maintenance buildings, that were built in 1870 to build and maintain the machinery used in the quarry. The complex includes saw sheds, patternmaking shops, a foundry with copula, blacksmiths shops, fitting shops, stores, engine sheds, a canteen, the chief engineers house, a hand operated crane and two waterwheels which provided the site with its power. Since 1972 the buildings have housed the National Slate Museum.
