Deutsch-Amerikanisches Institut Tübingen

The Stiftskirche is a church located in Tübingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is a late Gothic structure built by Peter von Koblenz in 1470. The stained glass windows were designed by Peter Hemmel of Andlau who also designed windows in Ulm, Augsburg, Nuremberg, Munich and Strasbourg. It is the central landmark of Tübingen and, along with the rest of the city, the Stiftskirche was one of the first to convert to Martin Luther's Protestant church. It maintains (and carefully defends) several "Roman Catholic" features, such as patron saints. Tower music is played from the church tower every Sunday.

The Hölderlinturm (English: Hölderlin's Tower) is a building located in Tübingen, Germany that served as the place of residence and death in the final years of poet Friedrich Hölderlin. He lived there from May 3, 1807 until his death in 1843. The building is located on the Neckar riverfront and is one of the most popularly known sites in Tübingen.

Zimmertheater Tübingen is a very small theatre in Tübingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany in close neighbourhood to the Hölderlinturm, where Friedrich Hölderlin spent his last years in life and near the Neckar river. It opened in 1958 and has two rooms for an audience of 60 and 80 visitors.

Tübingen (German: [ˈtyːbɪŋən], listen , Swabian: Dibenga) is a traditional university city in central Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is situated 30 km (19 mi) south of the state capital, Stuttgart, and developed on both sides of the Neckar and Ammer rivers. As of 2014 about one in three of the 90,000 people living in Tübingen is a student. As of the 2018/2019 winter semester, 27,665 students attend the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen. The city has the lowest median age in Germany, in part due to its status as a university city. As of December 31, 2015, the average age of a citizen of Tübingen is 39.1 years. The city is known for its veganism and environmentalism.Immediately north of the city lies the Schönbuch, a densely wooded nature park. The Swabian Alb mountains rise about 13 km (8 mi) (beeline Tübingen City to Roßberg - 869 m) to the southeast of Tübingen. The Ammer and Steinlach rivers are tributaries of the Neckar river, which flows in an easterly direction through the city, just south of the medieval old town. Large parts of the city are hilly, with the Schlossberg and the Österberg in the city centre and the Schnarrenberg and Herrlesberg, among others, rising immediately adjacent to the inner city. The highest point is at about 500 m (1,640.42 ft) above sea level near Bebenhausen in the Schönbuch forest, while the lowest point is 305 m (1,000.66 ft) in the city's eastern Neckar valley. The geographical centre of the state of Baden-Württemberg is in a small forest called Elysium, near the Botanical Gardens of the city's university.

Tübingen Hauptbahnhof is the largest station in the university town of Tübingen and the district of Tübingen, and a transport hub in the German state of Baden-Württemberg.

The Steinlach is a river with a length of 26 km (16 mi) in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is a tributary to the Neckar. It has its source in the Eckenbachgraben, a gap in the Swabian Alb mountain range. The source is on the territory of the town of Mössingen, on an elevation of 700 m (2,300 ft) above sea level. The Steinlach flows into a northerly direction. After taking up several streams outside of Mössingen, it flows through Ofterdingen, Nehren and Dußlingen to Tübingen, where it discharges into the Neckar.

The Collegium illustre in Tübingen was a ducal Court School from 1559 onwards, an academy between 1594 and 1596 and a Knight academy for young aristocrats in the Duchy of Württemberg between 1596 and 1688. After its dissolution in 1817 the building of Collegium illustre became the home of the newly founded Wilhelmsstift, a residence hall for Roman-Catholic theology students.

The Tübinger Stift (German: [ˈtyːbɪŋɐ ˈʃtɪft] (listen)) is a hall of residence and teaching; it is owned and supported by the Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Württemberg, and located in the university city of Tübingen, in South West Germany. The Stift was founded as an Augustinian monastery in the Middle Ages. After the Reformation, in 1536, Duke Ulrich turned the Stift into a seminary which served to prepare Protestant pastors for Württemberg. To this day the scholarship is still given to students in preparation for the ministry or teaching in Baden-Württemberg. Students receive a scholarship which consists of boarding, lodging and further academic support. Some of the well known "Stiftlers" are the astronomer Johannes Kepler and his associate, statesman Hans Ulrich von Eggenberg, the poet Friedrich Hölderlin who had as roommates the philosophers G. W. F. Hegel and Friedrich Schelling (although the latter was five years their junior), the theologians David Friedrich Strauß, Johann Albrecht Bengel, Friedrich Christoph Oetinger, Ferdinand Christian Baur and Eberhard Nestle, and the philologist August Pauly.

The Alter Botanischer Garten Tübingen (English: The Old Botanic Garden) is the former botanical garden of the University of Tübingen, now a municipal park. It is located at Am Stadtgraben 9, Tübingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, and open daily without charge.

Landestheater Tübingen is a theatre in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is known as 'LTT' for short , officially also 'Landestheater Württemberg-Hohenzollern Tübingen Reutlingen', is a cultural enterprise financed in Tübingen by public funds, donations and entrance fees. It puts on its mainly own productions, but also – partly foreign-language – guest performances. In addition to the so-called "evening game plan", it also has its own children's and youth theater division. The Landestheater performs beyond with its productions for large and small stages, and with the Junge LTT also for kindergartens, classrooms etc. More than a quarter of its more than 900 performances a year are outside the theatre.

The Neckarinsel (Neckar Island) in Tübingen, Germany is an artificial, ⅔ mile long Neckar river island, which was created in the years 1910 and 1911 by branching off a parallel channel to regulate the water level of the Neckar river. It extends from the headland west of the Ammertal train bridge, the so-called Bügeleisen (Flatiron), to the Eberhard Bridge.

The Tübingen University Faculty of Law (German: Juristische Fakultät der Eberhardina Carolina), located in Tübingen, Germany, is one of the original four constituent faculties of Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen. Founded in 1477 by Eberhard I, Duke of Württemberg, it is one of the oldest law schools in Germany.
