Watendlath

Grange Fell is a small fell in the English Lake District in the county of Cumbria, situated in the Borrowdale valley overlooking the villages of Grange in Borrowdale and Rosthwaite.

Great Crag is a fell in the English Lake District, located near the hamlets of Rosthwaite and Stonethwaite in Borrowdale.

Dock Tarn is a small tarn located within the Lake District National Park in Cumbria, England, at grid reference NY273143. It is situated on moorland at 400 metres above sea level near the summit of Great Crag, midway between Watendlath, the Stonethwaite valley and Borrowdale. It measures approximately 300 by 200 metres, and the shoreline is indented with rocky headlands and bays. There is a tiny island in the tarn with a few small Rowan trees growing on it. Many Lake District writers rate Dock Tarn and the walk to it very highly because of its quiet beauty. The tarn can be reached from Watendlath by a 2.5 kilometre walk along a path that climbs very close to the summit of Great Crag; many walkers include the ascent of this fell in the outing. The approach from Stonethwaite is of a similar distance but is more arduous, going steeply through the deciduous woodland in the valley before following the stream of Willygrass Gill, which is the outflow of Dock Tarn.

High Tove is a fell in the English Lake District, close to the geographical centre of the Cumbrian hills. It forms part of the watershed between the Derwentwater and Thirlmere catchments, a ridge running broadly north-south.

Bell Crags (also known as Long Moss or Blea Tarn Fell) is a hill of 559.1 metres (1,834 ft) in the Lake District, England. It lies between Borrowdale to its west and Thirlmere to its east, and is north of Ullscarf. Below it to the west is one of several Lake District tarns named Blea Tarn, this one flowing out via Bleatarn Gill to Watendlath Tarn. Bell Crags is a Fellranger, being included in Mark Richards' The Old Man of Coniston, Swirl How, Wetherlam and the South as one of the 18 (now 21) of his 227 (230 with the extension of the national park) summits which are not in Alfred Wainwright's list of 214. It is also classified as a Dodd, Dewey, Birkett and Synge. The highest point is a boulder 85 metres (279 ft) north of the cairn.Richards describes Bell Crags as "a great viewpoint above low crags and the morass of Launchy Gill" and "the wedge of rough country rising west from the shores of Thirlmere between Launchy and Dob Gills, initially as craggy afforestation but later as a wonderfully wild fell", and describes ascent routes from both Thirlmere and Watendlath.There are several other places named Bell Crags including a hill of 332 metres (1,089 ft) in Northumberland, about 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) west of the Pennine Way and about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) north of Hadrian's Wall.

High Seat is a fell in the centre of the English Lake District. Despite being below 2,000 ft it is the highest point for about 5 miles (8 km) in any direction; a consequence of the curious fact that the centre of the district is lower than the surrounding parts.

Borrowdale is a valley and civil parish in the English Lake District in Cumberland, England. It is in the ceremonial county of Cumbria, and is sometimes referred to as Cumberland Borrowdale to distinguish it from another Borrowdale in the historic county of Westmorland.

Lodore Falls is a waterfall in Cumbria, England, close to Derwentwater and downstream from Watendlath. The falls are located on the beck that flows from Watendlath Tarn, and tumble more than 100 feet (30 m) over a steep cascade into the Borrowdale Valley. Although it is spectacular in the rainy season, it can dry to a trickle in the summer.

"The Cataract of Lodore" is a poem written in 1820 by the English poet Robert Southey which describes the Lodore Falls on the Watendlath.

Rosthwaite is a settlement in the Borrowdale parish of Cumberland, Cumbria, England. It is also in Borrowdale in the English Lake District to the south of Derwent Water. The B5289 road goes through the settlement and it is to the east of the Honister Pass. Historically part of Cumberland, the nearest town to Rosthwaite is Keswick, which is situated approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) to the north.

Ashness Bridge is a traditional stone-built bridge on the single-track road from the Borrowdale road (B5289) to Watendlath, in the English Lake District, Cumbria. The bridge is at grid reference NY270196, and is known for being a fine viewpoint across Borrowdale towards Skiddaw, including views of Derwent Water nearby. It or its predecessor may have been a packhorse bridge conveying packhorse traffic from Watendlath to Keswick. Near the bridge is a small cairn to Bob Graham, who ran a round of 42 Lakeland peaks in 1932 in under 24 hours, a record which was not equalled for 28 years. The area is owned by the National Trust.

The Bowder Stone is a large andesite lava boulder, that fell 200 metres (660 ft) from the Bowder Crag on Kings How between 13,500 and 10,000 years ago. The stone is situated in Borrowdale, Cumbria, England, at grid reference NY25401639. It is estimated to weigh around 2000 tons and is about 30 feet (9.1 m) high, 50 feet (15 m) across and 90 feet (27 m) in circumference. There is a staircase allowing visitors to climb to the top, and has been since at least 1890.
