La Salle Street Bridge (South Bend, Indiana)

LaSalle Annex is a historic multi-use commercial building located at South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. It was built in 1925, and is a three to four-story, six bay by eight bay, building constructed of concrete, stone, and brick. It features an Italianate style tower and round arched openings. It was originally built as a multi-use building containing stores, a parking structure, hotel rooms, bachelor apartments, and a variety of large recreational facilities including a roller rink, dance floor, and bowling alley. It was originally built as an annex to the LaSalle Hotel.: 55–56 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

South Bend was the eastern terminus of the South Shore Line located at the corner of LaSalle Avenue and Michigan Street in downtown South Bend, Indiana. It opened in 1921 and closed in 1970, when the South Shore Line eliminated street running within South Bend. This station, situated on the site of a former Masonic Temple, was the South Shore's third South Bend station and opened on August 3, 1921. In 1928, the station was remodeled to resemble the 11th Street station in Michigan City. The redesigned station featured restrooms, waiting rooms, food concessions, and was staffed by a ticket agent. A tunnel connected the station with the LaSalle Hotel, located across the street. The LaSalle itself stood on the site of the Sheridan hotel, which had formerly housed the South Shore station.The South Bend terminal remained in service until 1970, when the Chicago, South Shore and South Bend Railroad eliminated street running in South Bend by truncating the line. It was replaced by a new station at Washington Street.

Stephenson Underwear Mill is a historic textile mill located at South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. It was built in 1916, and is a three-story, rectangular, nine-bay reinforced concrete building with brick curtain walls. It features a parapet with concrete coping and concrete panels on each side of the front panels. The building was rehabilitated for use as apartments in the early-1990s.: 5, 12 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

LaSalle Hotel is a historic hotel building located at South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. It was built in 1921, and originally housed 223 hotel rooms. It is a nine-story, Commercial style brick building with terra cotta trim and a wide overhanging cornice. It is located next to the Hoffman Hotel: 54  and across the street from where the Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad's original South Bend station were once located. A tunnel connected the station and the hotel.The LaSalle Hotel was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Northern Indiana Gas and Electric Company Building, also known as the Roma Building, was a historic office building located at South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. It was built in 1915, and was a three-story, brick building sheathed in pink terra cotta. It featured a projecting cornice with brackets and modillions.: 53 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, and delisted in 2012.

Morris Performing Arts Center (originally Palace Theatre and formerly Morris Civic Auditorium) is a 2,564-seat concert hall located in South Bend, Indiana. It opened in 1922 as a vaudeville house and later became a movie palace. It was developed along with the neighboring Palais Royale Building by the Palace Theater Corporation. It is a four- to five-story, rectangular, Spanish Renaissance Revival style brick building with finely crafted terra cotta ornamentation. It was planned for demolition in 1959 but was saved from demolition, and between 1998 and 2000, it was restored and remodeled.: 51 Morris Performing Arts Center's interior has a rose, blue and cream color scheme, as when it opened. The theater stage measures 56 feet by 57 feet and contains a red and gold main curtain dating from the 2000 restoration. The theater is home to the South Bend Symphony Orchestra and hosts Broadway shows, concerts, and other special events, including Marian High School's annual commencement ceremony. The theater's interior borrowed from European architectural styles. More than half of the seats at the center, 1,282, are in the balcony, with the remainder in the lower level. In 1985, the center was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It qualified for historic designation because of its place in the region's history and because of its historically significant architecture.In 2022, the theater celebrated its 100th year, and on November 2 of that year, a documentary commemorating the anneversary aired on the local PBS affiliate, WNIT-TV.

Palais Royale Building, also known as the Lippman Building, is a historic commercial building located in South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. It was built in 1922 along with the neighboring Palace Theater by the Palace Theater Corporation. It is a three-story, rectangular, Spanish Renaissance Revival-style brick building with finely crafted terra cotta ornamentation. It features a series of monumental semi-elliptical arched windows. The interior originally housed a two-story ballroom. A bombing on January 10, 1935, blew out most of the storefront windows and destroyed the corner suite.: 2–4 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Hoffman Hotel is a historic hotel building located at South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. It was built in 1930, and is a 12-story, red brick building with limestone trim and terra cotta mosaic tile panels in an eclectic style. It originally housed 21 small apartments and 150 hotel rooms. It is located next to the LaSalle Hotel.: 37 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Second St. Joseph Hotel is a historic hotel building located at South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. It was built in 1868, and is a three-story, Federal style brick building. It is the oldest extant commercial building in the city of South Bend. It was used as a hotel until 1876, after which it housed a variety of commercial enterprises. It is located next to the John G. Kerr Company building.: 13–14 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

John G. Kerr Company is a historic commercial building located at South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. It was built in 1891, and is a three-story, Italianate style brick building. It has round arched windows and a cast iron storefront, and is located next to the Second St. Joseph Hotel.: 15 Since 1976, it has been the home of Griffon Games and Bookstore. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

All American Bank Building is a historic bank building located at South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. It was built in 1924, and is a four-story, Classical Revival style Indiana limestone building. It was designed by Chicago architects Vitzthum & Burns. The first floor has large round-arched openings, above which are Corinthian order pilasters that separate a continuous series of windows. The All American Bank occupied the building until 1970.: 60 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Downtown South Bend is the central business district of South Bend, Indiana. The boundaries downtown are generally considered to be the following: on the west bank of the St. Joseph River, north of Sample Street and east of Lafayette Boulevard. It features many local businesses as well as a hospital, hotels, museums, and office buildings.
