Michigan's 18th congressional district is an obsolete United States congressional district in Michigan. The first Representative to Congress elected from the 18th district, George Anthony Dondero, took office in 1953, after reapportionment due to the 1950 census. In 1933, Dondero had previously been the first representative elected from 17th district. From 1982 until its demise the 18th district included parts of three counties. It included Brighton, Brighton Township and Green Oak Township in Livingston County, Michigan, Lyon Township, South Lyon, New Hudson, Milford, Milford Township, Wixom, Walled Lake, Wolverine Lake, Commerce Township, Novi, the Oakland county portion of Northville, Farmington, Farmington Hills, West Bloomfield Township, Orchard Lake, Keego Harbor, Sylvan Lake, Bloomfield Township, Franklin, Bingham Farms, Beverly Hills, Bloomfield Hills, Birmingham, Troy (except the southeast corner of Troy, south of Big Beaver and east of Rochester Road), Auburn Hills, Rochester Hills, Rochester, Orion Township, Lake Orion, Lake Angelus, Oakland Township and Addison Township in Oakland County. It also included Romeo, Washington Township, Shelby Township and Bruce Township in Macomb County.

West Bloomfield High School is a public high school in West Bloomfield, Michigan. The school is the only public high school in the West Bloomfield School District. The School Enrollment for the 2010-2011 school year is about 1900. West Bloomfield High School was previously located in the Abbott Middle School building, which opened on January 31, 1955 with an enrollment of 406. From fall 1968 through spring 1971, the school was temporarily located at the site of the current Orchard Lake Middle School. The current building was built in 1971. West Bloomfield High School has begun to offer the Advanced Placement International Diploma to the classes of 2011 and beyond. In addition, it established additional Advanced Placement courses starting the 2010-2011 school year. The school has been recognized by Newsweek magazine as being in the top 6% of U.S. public high schools.

WBLD (89.3 FM), branded on-air as Lakes FM, is a high school radio station licensed to Orchard Lake, Michigan, United States, broadcasting a Top 40 format. Owned by the West Bloomfield School District, it first began broadcasting in 1974. In the fall of 2014, WBLD operations were moved from West Bloomfield High School to the Green Media Center on the Sheiko Elementary School site. In December 2014, WBLD was rebranded as "Lakes FM". Lakes FM now plays Top 40 Hits with a mix of older songs. This launched the "Old School, New School, From Your School" Slogan. In April, the FCC granted WBLD more power and to relocate the antenna from West Bloomfield High School to West Bloomfield Fire Tower #1, which is just north on Orchard Lake Road. In the fall, Lakes FM broadcasts all WBHS varsity football and most basketball games.

Pine Lake is a private, all-sports, 395-acre (160 ha) lake in West Bloomfield Township, Oakland County, in the U.S. state of Michigan.The Pine Lake shoreline is lined with high-end exclusive homes. The West Bloomfield Trail is a rail trail in Oakland County, Michigan. It is built on the right-of-way of an early Michigan railroad, most recently operated by the Michigan Air-Line Railway.

Old Oak, also known as the Elijah Bull House is a c. 1830 Federal style house, located at 6115 Wing Lake Road in Bloomfield Township, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2022.

Hillel Day School, named after the Jewish religious leader, sage and scholar Hillel, is an independent Pre-K – 8 Jewish day school in Farmington Hills, Michigan, a city in the Detroit metropolitan area. Founded in 1958, it became the first non-Orthodox Jewish school in Michigan. It provides both secular and Judaic studies instruction for students from preschool through eighth grade. Hillel initially rented space from various Jewish organizations. In 1970, it settled into its permanent home in Farmington Hills. In 1980s–1990s, portable classrooms were necessary due to overcrowding. Since then, Hillel's campus has undergone significant expansions and renovations. It now features open-space learning areas, a separate pre-school wing, an indoor gym, all-season outdoor athletic facilities, an "innovation hub" with a greenhouse and makerspace, and a café with a kitchen. In 2005, Hillel controversially closed the teachers' union. In 2008, Hillel ended its affiliation with the Conservative movement and became a non-denominational Jewish day school.

The Franklin Cider Mill, known previously as the Franklin Grist Mill, is a cider mill located in Franklin, Michigan. The family of former owner Jacob Peltz continues to operate the mill. The mill offers fresh apple cider, spice donuts, caramel apples, and apple pies and other products.

Kirk in the Hills Presbyterian (1958) is a church located in Bloomfield Township, Michigan.

The Franklin Historic District is a primarily residential and commercial historic district located along Franklin Road and adjoining streets in the village of Franklin, Michigan in Oakland County. The district extends to Fourteen Mile Road on the north, Scenic Drive on the south, the Rouge River on the east, and several hundred feet from Franklin Road on the west. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1969, and added to in 2005. It was Michigan's first district to be listed on the National Register.

The Michigan Military Academy, also known as M.M.A., was an all-boys military prep school in Orchard Lake Village, Oakland County, Michigan. It was founded in 1877 by J. Sumner Rogers and closed in 1908 due to bankruptcy. Some journalists have referred to the school as the Second West Point. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 as the Orchard Lake Schools Historic District.

St. Mary's Preparatory is a co-educational, Catholic, college preparatory high school with a Polish-American heritage in the Detroit suburb of Orchard Lake Village, Michigan. Its mission and message is "God, Family and St. Mary's."
