Nelson Airport (Māori: Te Papa Waka Rererangi o Whakatū) (IATA: NSN, ICAO: NZNS) is located 6 km (3.7 mi) south-west of central Nelson, New Zealand, in the suburb of Annesbrook. Approximately 1.2 million passengers and visitors use the airport terminal annually. Passenger numbers for the 2017 financial year were 1,000,373, up from 865,203 in 2016.It is the sixth-busiest airport in New Zealand by passenger numbers and seventh by aircraft movements, as well as being the busiest New Zealand airport without any scheduled international service. The airport has an Air New Zealand Koru Lounge.

Waimea Inlet is a section of Tasman Bay / Te Tai-o-Aorere, in New Zealand's South Island. It is at the southern end of the bay, and separated from it by the partial barriers of Rabbit Island and Bell Island to the west and Monaco Peninsula and the reclaimed land of Nelson Airport to the east. The southern suburbs of Stoke and the town of Richmond lie close to the shore of Waimea Inlet.

Saxton is a suburb of Nelson, New Zealand, south of Stoke and northwest of Richmond. Saxton covers a land area of 3.99 km2 (1.54 sq mi). Its principal feature is the Saxton Field sports complex, which includes Saxton Oval – the main cricket ground of Nelson.The area had a relatively small population at the start of the 21st century, with only 10 residents in 1996 and 20 residents in 2001. The estimated population reached 54 in 2006, 60 in 2013, and 57 in 2018.

Saxton Oval, also known as Saxton Field, is a cricket ground in Saxton, Stoke, Nelson Region, New Zealand. Saxton Oval was one of the venues for the 2015 Cricket World Cup. It hosted three matches during the tournament.

Greenmeadows Park is a park and suburb of Stoke, New Zealand. It lies close to the centre of Stoke, southwest of Nelson city centre.

World of WearableArt (WOW) is an international design competition, attracting entries from more than 40 countries each year. The competition features wearable art entries, which are judged on durability, the safety and comfort of the models, and the impact of the design on the stage. During the three weeks of the competition, around 60,000 people attend the event in Wellington. The Gala show for 2020 was cancelled due to COVID-19 and was replaced by an exhibit in Wellington. It returned in 2022.

Garin College is a New Zealand Catholic, integrated, co-educational day and boarding secondary school in Nelson on the northern outskirts of Richmond. The college opened on 28 January 2002 to serve the Catholic community, particularly in the upper South Island. The college is named after Father Antoine Marie Garin (1810–1889) who was the founding pastor of the Catholic Church in Nelson. The proprietor of the school is the Catholic Archbishop of Wellington.

Wakatu (also spelt Whakatu, as in the Māori name for the Nelson area) is an industrial suburb of Nelson in New Zealand. It lies on State Highway 6 to the southwest of Nelson city centre and northeast of Stoke, inland from Nelson Airport.
