The Androscoggin River (Abenaki: Ammoscocongon) is a river in the U.S. states of Maine and New Hampshire, in northern New England. It is 178 miles (286 km) long and joins the Kennebec River at Merrymeeting Bay in Maine before its water empties into the Gulf of Maine on the Atlantic Ocean. Its drainage basin is 3,530 square miles (9,100 km2) in area. The name "Androscoggin" comes from the Eastern Abenaki term Ammoscocongon, which referred to the entire portion of the river north of the Great Falls in Lewiston, Maine. The Anglicization of the Abenaki term is likely an analogical contamination with the colonial governor Edmund Andros.

The Muddy River is a 4.7-mile-long (7.6 km) river in Topsham, Maine, which empties into Merrymeeting Bay. The river is known to be very muddy.

The Cathance Water Tower is a historic water tower at Cathance Road and Beechwood Drive in Topsham, Maine. Probably built in the late 19th century, it is an extremely rare surviving example of a residential wooden water tower built for a single residence. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. It is now owned by the town.

The Cathance River is a 16.4-mile-long (26.4 km) river in Maine flowing into Merrymeeting Bay. It rises in Bowdoin at the junction of West Cathance and East Cathance streams and flows south into Topsham. Turning east and then northeast, it reaches tidewater at the village of Cathance within Topsham and continues northeast into the town of Bowdoinham. The river turns south again for its final course to Merrymeeting Bay.

Mid Coast Hospital is located in Brunswick, Maine. It serves Maine's Midcoast region. The 93-bed facility is an independent, non-profit hospital governed by a community board of directors. Its current president and CEO is Lois Skillings, RN. Mid Coast Hospital was formed after a merger occurred between Bath Memorial Hospital and Regional Memorial Hospital. The hospital opened its modern campus in Cook's Corner in 2001 and then expanded in 2009 with a new emergency department and additional medical/surgical inpatient beds. Mid Coast Hospital is part of Mid Coast–Parkview Health, the third-largest employer in the Midcoast region with more than 2,000 employees.

The Butterfield-Sampson House is a historic house at 18 River Road in Bowdoinham, Maine. It is an unusual combination of an early 19th-century Federal period house, to which a Stick style house was added about 1890. The latter portion is a rare example in the state of a mail-order design from Palliser & Palliser. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

The Cornish House is a historic house at 87 Main Street in Bowdoinham, Maine. Built in 1885, it is a distinctive late example of Italianate architecture, with gingerbread trim elements. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Viola Coombs House is a historic house at 33 Main Street in Bowdoinham, Maine. Built about 1910, it is significant as an example of transitional Colonial Revival/Queen Anne architecture in a residential setting. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

The Robert P. Carr House is a historic house at 35 Main Street in Bowdoinham, Maine. It is a high quality area example of Italianate architecture, built about 1870 for one of the town's most prominent citizens of the period. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Brunswick Air Force Station is a closed United States Air Force General Surveillance Radar station. It is located 2.5 miles (4.0 km) east-southeast of Brunswick, Maine. It was closed in 1965. Brunswick AFS was one of the first of twenty-four stations of the 1949 permanent Air Defense Command radar network. On 2 December 1948, the Air Force directed the Army Corps of Engineers to proceed with construction of this and the other twenty-three sites.

Topsham is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Topsham in Sagadahoc County, Maine, United States. The population was 6,271 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Portland–South Portland–Biddeford, Maine Metropolitan Statistical Area.
