The University of Rhode Island (URI) is a public land-grant research university with its main campus in Kingston, Rhode Island, United States. It is the flagship public research as well as the land-grant university of the state of Rhode Island. Its main campus is located in the village of Kingston in southern Rhode Island. Satellite campuses include the Feinstein Campus in Downtown Providence, the Rhode Island Nursing Education Center in Providence's Jewelry District, the Narragansett Bay Campus in Narragansett, and the W. Alton Jones Campus in West Greenwich. The university offers bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and doctoral degrees in 80 undergraduate and 49 graduate areas of study through nine academic schools and colleges. These schools and colleges include Arts and Sciences, Business, Education and Professional Studies, Engineering, Health Sciences, Environment and Life Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy and Oceanography. Another college, University College for Academic Success, serves primarily as an advising college for all incoming undergraduates and follows them through their first two years of enrollment at URI. The university is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity". As of 2019, the URI enrolled 14,653 undergraduate students, 1,982 graduate students, and 1,339 non-degree students, making it the largest university in the state.

Meade Stadium is a 6,555-seat multi-purpose stadium in Kingston, Rhode Island. It is home to the University of Rhode Island's Rams football team. The facility opened in 1928 and was originally named Meade Field, in honor of John E. "Jack" Meade, an alumnus and local politician, said to have attended every home football and basketball game until his death in 1972. The facility adopted its current name in 1978, when an aluminum and steel grandstand was added.The stadium has undergone many changes in its history. The old field house was built in 1933, and in 1934, the west stands and press box were opened, with a capacity of 1,500. In 1978, the 50-row steel grandstand was erected on the east side, bringing the total capacity up to 8,000. Various other projects, including a press box expansion and modernization of the turf and scoreboard, took place soon after. In 2000, the west stands and field house were razed to make way for the Ryan Center. During the 2006 football season, a new set of west stands opened abutting the Ryan Center, whose east luxury boxes also look down on Meade Stadium. In the spring and summer of 2019, the university undertook a $4.1 million project that brought lights and field turf to Meade Stadium.

The South County History Center, which formerly operated as the Pettaquamscutt Historical Society, is a nonprofit organization in Kingston, Rhode Island, United States, that preserves and interprets the material culture of South County through exhibits and study of archival, library and artifact collections.

Kingston is a village and a census-designated place within the town of South Kingstown in Washington County, Rhode Island, United States, and the site of the main campus of the University of Rhode Island. The population was 6,974 at the 2010 census. Much of the village center is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Kingston Village Historic District. It was originally known as Little Rest.

Ryan Center is an 8,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Kingston, Rhode Island. The arena opened as a replacement for Keaney Gymnasium, which was built in 1953 for the needs of a much smaller student population at URI. It is home to the University of Rhode Island Rams basketball. The building is named for Thomas M. Ryan, Class of 1975, former CEO of Rhode Island-based CVS Pharmacy and lead benefactor of the arena. The $54 million center opened in June 2002. The first game in the arena was a women's basketball game against Kent State University on Nov. 22, 2002, and the first men's game was an upset win against USC on Nov. 26, 2002. The building is recognizable for its three corner towers, which were modeled after lighthouses. (The fourth corner would be where the building meets the Tootell Physical Education Center.) It stands directly next to Meade Stadium, and the original field house and west (visitor's side) grandstands were demolished to make way for the building. There are seven luxury boxes that can view both the basketball floor and the football stadium outside, and new grandstands were built in 2006. The women's basketball team won the first-ever regular season game in the Ryan Center 53–39 over Kent State on Nov. 22, 2002 and four days later the men made their official debut in the building with a 73–71 overtime upset over the University of Southern California. Ever since, the Ryan Center has been a hard place for opponents to play, with the men's team drawing a standing room only crowd of 8,121 against No. 2-ranked Pittsburgh in 2002, and the women's team setting its attendance record with 3,402 fans against St. Bonaventure on Jan. 16. Both the men's and women's teams more than doubled their attendance from the last year in Keaney Gymnasium.With the opening of the Ryan Center, URI was able to move all of its games on campus for the first time since the 1970s. The team had played occasional home games at the larger Amica Mutual Pavilion since 1973.

The Henry Eldred Farm is an historic farm complex at 368 Old North Road in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. The main block of the farmhouse, a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure, was probably built c. 1822, although there is architectural evidence suggesting it may be an enlargement of an older structure. Its simple Federal styling is distinctly rural and vernacular in character. The complex also includes a cluster of buildings dating to the mid-19th century, including a barn, carriage house, shed, and blacksmith shop.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

The George Fayerweather Blacksmith Shop is an historic homestead and blacksmith shop at 1859 Mooresfield Road on the eastern outskirts of the Kingston Historic District in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. It was the home of George Fayerweather, an African-American blacksmith and his family, including his wife Sarah Harris Fayerweather. The shop was built in 1820 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The property is maintained by the Kingston Improvement Association, a non-profit organization of local residents, and is now the home of the Fayerweather Craft Guild and the Kingston Garden Club.

Keaney Gymnasium is a multi-purpose arena in Kingston, Rhode Island, United States on the campus of the University of Rhode Island. Built in 1953, it was the home of the university's men's and women's basketball teams until they moved to the adjacent Ryan Center in 2002. It is currently the home of the university's volleyball team.

The Tootell House (also called King's Row or Hedgerow) is a house at 1747 Mooresfield Road in Kingston, Rhode Island that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The two-story, wood-shingled Colonial Revival house on a 3-acre (12,000 m2) tract was designed by Gunther and Bemis Associates of Boston for Fred Tootell. It was built in 1932–1933, while Tootell was married to his first wife Anne Parsons. House design was by John J. G. Gunther. Elizabeth Clark Gunther was the landscape architect for the grounds.

Bill Beck Field is a baseball venue located on the campus of the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, Rhode Island, United States. It is home to the Rhode Island Rams baseball team, a member of the NCAA Division I Atlantic 10 Conference. The field was built in 1966 and is named after former Rams baseball and football coach Bill Beck. It has a capacity of 1,000 spectators.The field is located behind Mackal Field House, the home venue of Rhode Island's men's and women's indoor track & field teams.

The Bradford R. Boss Arena is a 2,500-seat ice arena on the campus of The University of Rhode Island located in Kingston, Rhode Island. The ice arena is named in honor of Bradford R. Boss, one of the founders of the URI men's hockey club in 1951, member of the URI class of 1955, and member of URI Athletic Hall of Fame.The facility is home to the Rhode Island Rams men's and women's ice hockey teams. The men's competes at the ACHA Division I level in the Eastern States Collegiate Hockey League; while the women's team competes at ACHA Women's Division I level in the Eastern Collegiate Women's Hockey League. It is also used for local high school ice hockey, local youth hockey and figure skating clubs and organizations, public ice skating, and for intramural sports.

Yawgoo Valley is the only surviving skiing resort in Rhode Island. It is located on a hill in Exeter, south of Providence and opened in the 1965–66 season as "Rhode Island's first chairlift served ski area."As one of the southernmost ski areas in New England, Yawgoo relies heavily on artificial snowmaking. Lift tickets range from $28 on weekdays to $45 on weekends. Yawgoo valley also offers a snow-tubing park with eight lanes and two lifts. The area's title as the first lift service area in RI was appropriate, as it opened at a time where chair service was now expected of any ski area. As a result, a large amount of skiers went to Yawgoo Valley instead of the 4 other RI ski areas, who all still relied on T-Bars only. While Rhode Island's other 4 ski resorts would close over the next few years, Yawgoo Valley's use of 2 chairs and keeping up with more modern ski area technologies such as better snowmaking equipment kept them operational. They also operate one of only six tubing parking in the entire Southern New England area (RI, CT, and MA) for additional revenue from both skiers and non-skiers.
