Walcote, Warwickshire

Upton is a village in south-west Warwickshire, England. It is just off the A46, between Alcester and Stratford-upon-Avon, about a mile east of Alcester.

Haselor is a village in Warwickshire. It is by the River Alne, about one mile east of Alcester just off the A46 main road to Stratford-upon-Avon. The parish church is remote from the present houses, the old village having been demolished after a plague epidemic.

Great Alne is a small village in Warwickshire, England, 7 miles (11 km) north-west of Stratford-upon-Avon, 3 miles (4.8 km) north-east of Alcester and 15 miles (24 km) from Warwick, on the road to Wootton Wawen. It takes its name from the River Alne and was first chronicled in the charter of King Ethelbald (723–737). In 1969 Warwickshire County Council designated part of Great Alne as a Conservation Area, including most of the village east of the Memorial Hall and twelve listed buildings of local architectural and historical value. At the 2001 Census the population was 587.

Kinwarton is a village in the valley of the River Alne, Warwickshire, to the north-east of the market town of Alcester. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 Census was 1,082. The ground is mostly low-lying, with a maximum altitude of 206 ft. and some of the fields near the river are liable to floods. The road from Alcester to Henley-in-Arden runs through the middle of the parish. A branch road leads off to the church and rectory about a quarter of a mile to the south and thence continues as a field-path down to a ford across the River Alne below Hoo Mill. From the north side of the main road a by-road branches off to Coughton.

Great Alne Railway Station was a station in the village of Great Alne in Warwickshire on the Great Western Railway line from Alcester, Warwickshire to Bearley, Warwickshire.The old railway station building, built on the Great Western Railway branch-line from Bearley to Alcester, opened in 1876 but is now converted to a residential dwelling. The station sat on the GWR's Alcester Branch linking their Hatton - Stratford Branch with the now defunct Midland Railway's Gloucester Loop Line south of Redditch. The line closed to passengers in 1917 only to reopen between 1922 but stopping again in 1939 for passenger use, apart from workers' trains to the nearby Castle Maudslay Motor Company's works from Coventry which ran until 1944. The line closed completely in 1951 with lifting of the track taking place shortly afterwards, parts of it still remain, however, as roads and footpaths, notably to Alcester.

Aston Cantlow is a village in Warwickshire, England, on the River Alne 5 miles (8.0 km) north-west of Stratford-upon-Avon and 2 miles (3.2 km) north-west of Wilmcote, close to Little Alnoe, Shelfield, and Newnham. It was the home of Mary Arden, William Shakespeare's mother. At the 2001 census, it had a population of 1,674, being measured again as 437 at the 2011 Census.

Barlichway Hundred or Barlinchway Hundred was a historic hundred of the county of Warwickshire in England. It covered the west of the county, including Stratford-upon-Avon, Alcester, Henley in Arden, Bidford on Avon and Honiley. It was one of four hundreds of Warwickshire, alongside Kington, Knightlow and Hemlingford. The Hundred of Barlichway was formed in the 12th century from the earlier Hundreds of Fernecumbe and Patelau, together with the parishes of Tanworth, Packwood, and Lapworth which, until 1833, formed a detached part of Kington Hundred.

Temple Grafton is a village and civil parish in the Stratford district of Warwickshire, England, situated about 4 miles (6.4 km) east of Alcester and 14 miles (23 km) west of the county town of Warwick. The place name is misleading, the Knights Templar never having any association with the place but owing to a naming error made in the time of Henry VIII the mistake has been perpetuated. During the reign of Richard I the estate in fact belonged to the Knights Hospitaller. During the reign of Edward III in 1347 the village was recorded as Grafton Superior while neighbouring Ardens Grafton was named Inferior

Grafton Preceptory was a priory in Temple Grafton, Warwickshire, England that belonged to the Knights Hospitalier. The village had no connection with the Knights Templer, but acquired this name due to an administrative error during the reign of Henry VIII, by which time the Hospitaliers had been associated with the site for over three hundred years. The Preceptory was closely associated with Balsall Preceptory and the office of Preceptor for these two was often united.

Kinwarton Dovecote is circular 14th-century dovecote situated on the edge of the village of Kinwarton, near Alcester, Warwickshire, England. The dovecote is in the ownership of the National Trust and is a scheduled monument.The building still houses doves to this day and is noted for its "potence" (a pivoted ladder) which provides access to the nesting boxes.

All Saints Church is a redundant Anglican church in the village of Billesley, Warwickshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.
