Freedom Square (Estonian: Vabaduse väljak) is a plaza on the southern end of the Old Town in Tallinn, Estonia, where state functions and various concerts take place. It is bounded on the east by St. John's Church (built 1862–67), on the south by Kaarli Boulevard and an underground shopping center (2008–09), and on the west by a Victory Column (2009) commemorating the Estonian War of Independence 1918–1920.

St. John's Church (Estonian: Jaani kirik) is a large Lutheran parish church in Tallinn, Estonia. It is dedicated to Saint John the Evangelist, a disciple of Jesus Christ and author of the fourth Christian Gospel. Construction began in 1862, and the church was opened in 1867.

Sõprus ('Friendship') is a cinema in Tallinn, Estonia.The building was built in 1955 and it was designed by Peeter Tarvas and August Volberg; interior was designed by Maia Laul. At the beginning, the building's had two halls: so-called red and white hall, both had 396 seats. In 1990s, only one hall was used by the cinema. In 2004, the hall had 282 seats.

Georg Ots Tallinn Music College (Estonian: Georg Otsa nimeline Tallinna Muusikakool) is a music school in Tallinn, Estonia.The school is grown up from Tallinn Higher Music School (founded in 1919). In 2019, the school celebrated its 100th anniversary.

The Cross of Liberty and the Monument to the War of Independence (Estonian: Vabadussõja võidusammas) is located in Freedom Square, Tallinn, Estonia. It was opened on 23 June 2009 as a memorial for those who fell during the Estonian War of Independence, through which the people of Estonia will be able to commemorate all those who had fought for freedom and independence. The pillar is 23.5 m high and consists of 143 glass plates. The memorial incorporates the Cross of Liberty, Estonia's most distinguished award established in 1919.

The Russian Theatre (Russian: Русский театр Эстонии, Estonian: Vene teater) is a Russian-language theatre in Tallinn, Estonia. It is housed in a building that was originally built as a cinema in 1926 and is in Art Deco style.A small Russian theatre community has existed in Tallinn since the late 19th century; it grew following the Russian Revolution when Russian actors settled in Estonia as refugees. A permanent Russian-language theatre was not set up in the city until 1948, however. During the Soviet occupation of Estonia, it was one of several Russian-language theatres of the Soviet Union and also toured around the whole country. Since Estonia re-gained its independence, the theatre has focused more on a local audience. The Russian theatre has put up both Russian-language classical plays by e.g. Anton Chekhov and Alexander Griboyedov as well as translations of plays from other languages, including Estonian plays in cooperation with Estonian-language directors.

Tallinn English College (Estonian: Tallinna Inglise Kolledž) is a co-educational general education school in Tallinn, Estonia with in depth education in the English language. It has elementary, middle and senior levels with students aged from 7 to 18.

The Tallinn Museum of Orders of Knighthood (Estonian: Tallinna Rüütliordude Muuseum) is a private museum of history and culture in Tallinn, Estonia. The main focus of the museum is the history of orders of knighthood and merit from all over the world. The museum is located in a historical medieval building at Kuninga 3 in Tallinn Old Town, and the permanent exhibition consists of close to a thousand original costumes, collars, stars, badges and other items related to orders of knighthood with the oldest exhibits dating to the beginning of the 18th century.

The French Institute of Estonia (Estonian: Prantsuse Instituut Eestis, French: l'Institut français d'Estonie, IFE) was founded in 1992 in Tallinn to promote cultural, scientific, academic, and language cooperation between France and Estonia.

Olde Hansa is a restaurant in the Old Town in central Tallinn, Estonia, located in the protected Pakkhoone building.

Old Thomas (Estonian: Vana Toomas) is one of the symbols and guardians of Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. A weather vane, the figure of an old warrior called Old Thomas was put on top of the spire of Tallinn Town Hall in 1530. According to the legend, the model for the weather vane was a peasant boy who excelled at the springtime contests involving firing crossbow bolts at a painted wooden parrot on top of a pole, organized by Tallinn's Baltic German elite of the time. Unable to receive a prize because of his low-born status, Thomas was rewarded with the job of town guard for life.All his life, Thomas gave candy to the children in the Town Square, according to local legend. When he died, the children constantly asked, "Where is Old Thomas?", which led to uncomfortable answers about the nature of death. Once the weather vane was erected over the town square, parents would tell the children that Old Thomas was watching how they behave and would leave candy under their pillow for good behavior. Immortalized in copper, Thomas continues to watch over Tallinn and its citizens. In 1944, Old Thomas was hit during the March bombardment. The burnt spire was reconstructed and a new copy of Old Thomas erected in 1952. In 1996 the spire was renovated and the third Old Thomas figure was put on it to guard Tallinn. The original weather vane is kept in the Town Hall. The one erected in 1952 is shown at the Tallinn City Museum.

St. Nicholas Church (Estonian: Niguliste kirik, German: Nikolaikirche) is a medieval former church in Tallinn, Estonia. It was dedicated to Saint Nicholas, the patron of the fishermen and sailors. Originally built in the 13th century, it was partially destroyed in the Soviet bombing of Tallinn in World War II. It has since been restored and today houses the Niguliste Museum, a branch of the Art Museum of Estonia, focusing mainly on ecclesiastical art from the Middle Ages onward. The former church is also used as a concert hall.
