Secretariat of Intelligence (Spanish: Secretaría de Inteligencia, SIDE) was the premier intelligence agency of the Argentine Republic and head of its National Intelligence System. Chaired by the Secretary of State Intelligence who is a special member of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Secretariat of Intelligence was a technical and operational service charged with the collection and production of intelligence and counterintelligence in internal and foreign areas, as well as the analysis and formation of a national intelligence strategy in order to handle state affairs. The Secretariat was charged with the duty of producing a complete intelligence cycle for the government. Structurally, S.I. had the biggest intelligence gathering capabilities in Argentina, as it counts with numerous delegations within Argentina as well as foreign operational bases and delegations. Under the law, the Secretariat was subordinated to the Presidency and is ruled by secret decrees and laws. Even though the official acronym was renamed to S.I. as the new intelligence system became active, during most of its history it was called Secretaría de Inteligencia de Estado (Secretariat of State Intelligence, SIDE) and it still is referred to as SIDE by the public. On January 26, 2015, after the case of the prosecutor Alberto Nisman's death, President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner announced she was proposing legislation that would dissolve the (SI) and opening a new intelligence agency called the Federal Intelligence Agency (AFI).

The Headquarters of the Bank of the Argentine Nation (Spanish: Casa Central del Banco de la Nación Argentina), more often referred locally as Banco Nación Casa Central, is a monumental bank building next to the Plaza de Mayo, founding site of Buenos Aires and host of major events in the history of the country. Designed by renowned Argentine architect Alejandro Bustillo in a Neoclassical style with French influences, the 100,000 m2 (1,100,000 sq ft) building occupies an entire city block and was inaugurated in 1944. With a dome 50 m (160 ft) in diameter, the building is a National Historic Landmark.

Banco de la Nación Argentina (English: Bank of the Argentine Nation) is a national bank in Argentina, and the largest in the country's banking sector.

The Central Station (in Spanish: Estación Central) was a railway station of Buenos Aires, terminus of all the railway lines existing by then and owned by the Buenos Aires and Ensenada Port Railway. The station, located on the corner of Paseo de Julio Avenue (currently Leandro N. Alem) and Piedad street (today Bartolomé Mitre), operated from 1872 to 1897. The building was a wood structure (built in Great Britain), that had a mansard roof and a little tower with a clock and a dome on the top.

The Casa Rosada (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈkasa roˈsaða], English: Pink House) is the office of the president of Argentina. The palatial mansion is known officially as Casa de Gobierno ("House of Government" or "Government House"). Normally, the president lives at the Quinta de Olivos, the official residence of the president of Argentina, which is located in Olivos, Greater Buenos Aires. The characteristic color of the Casa Rosada is baby pink, and is considered one of the most emblematic buildings in Buenos Aires. The building also houses a museum, which contains objects relating to former presidents of Argentina. It has been declared a National Historic Monument of Argentina.

Banco Hipotecario (BCBA:BHIP) is a commercial bank and mortgage lender in Argentina.

The headquarters of the Banco de Londres y América del Sur or Bank of London and South America in Buenos Aires was designed by Argentine architects Clorindo Testa and SEPRA (Santiago Sánchez Elía, Federico Peralta Ramos, Alfredo Agostini). It is located in San Nicolás. In 1959, a design contest was announced the project by the Bank of London and South America. The land was located on a street corner in the Buenos Aires CBD, an area housing nearly half the nation's financial activity. The winning design was submitted by Clorindo Testa and SEPRA. The project's architectural approach was among the most far-reaching and well-known local contributions to international architecture of the 1960s, as well as the country's most easily identifiable example of Brutalist architecture. The building, completed in 1966, was occupied by the local Lloyds Bank branch during the 1980s and early 1990s, and in 1997, was acquired by the newly privatized Banco Hipotecario.

The Equestrian monument to General Manuel Belgrano is a landmark of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is located at Plaza de Mayo, in front of the Casa Rosada. It depicts General Manuel Belgrano holding the Flag of Argentina, and it is made of bronze over a pedestal of granite.

The Anglo-South American Bank was a British and Argentine bank established with the acquisition of the Anglo-Argentine Bank in 1900 by the Bank of Tarapacá and London. The new bank first took the name of Bank of Tarapacá and Argentina, which it changed in 1907 to Anglo-South American Bank.

Plaza de Mayo is a station on Line A of the Buenos Aires Underground. This station belonged to the first section of line opened on 1 December 1913, linking the station with the station of Plaza Miserere.

The Revolution of 11 September 1852 was a conflict between the Province of Buenos Aires and the government of Justo José de Urquiza after the latter triumphed over Juan Manuel de Rosas at the Battle of Caseros. A period known as "National Organization" was initiated after the Battle of Caseros. Every political faction agreed on authorizing a national Constitution. However, in opposition to the rest of the country, the ruling upper class in Buenos Aires aspired to impose political requirements on the Argentine provinces, so as to maintain the traditional political and economic preeminence of the capital city. The result was a ten-year separation between the Argentine Confederation and the State of Buenos Aires. Both states claimed to be part of a single nation. But in reality, they behaved like separate states.
