WDRU (1030 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Christian radio format. Licensed to Creedmoor, North Carolina, United States, the station serves the Raleigh–Durham area. The station is owned by Truth Broadcasting Corporation. WDRU broadcasts Wake Forest Demon Deacons sports programming, beginning with the 2012 football season. Its parent company, Truth Broadcasting, reached a deal with WEGO in Winston-Salem and WKEW in Greensboro to provide coverage along the I-40 corridor, which had been covered by WZTK before flipping to Spanish programming.

Obediah Winston Farm is a historic tobacco farm complex and national historic district located near Creedmoor, Granville County, North Carolina. The farmhouse was built about 1855, and is a two-story, five-bay, Greek Revival style heavy timber frame dwelling. Also on the property are the contributing log outbuilding, slave house, potato house, stable, smokehouse, packhouse, tobacco barn, and tenant house. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Joseph P. Hunt Farm is a historic tobacco farm complex and national historic district located near Dexter, Granville County, North Carolina. The farmhouse was built about 1844, and is a two-story, three-bay, Greek Revival style dwelling. It has a two-story rear ell dated to the 1870s and a full-width front porch added in the 1920s. Also on the property are the contributing small frame outbuilding, potato house, corn crib, two tobacco barns, smokehouse, large horse barn, packhouse, and combination icehouse/carriage house. Also on the property is the site of Breedlove Mill. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Camp Butner was a United States Army installation in Butner, North Carolina during World War II. It was named after Army general and North Carolina native Henry W. Butner. Part of it was used as a POW camp for German prisoners of war in the United States and this site eventually became the Federal Correctional Complex, Butner. The camp site was chosen in the late summer of 1941 to have a major training area, built with construction starting in January 1942. In just 6 short months, over 1,700 buildings were constructed. There were enough beds in the enlisted barracks alone to accommodate over 35,000 soldiers. Several major US Army divisions used the camp as a staging area during the war, to assemble and organize prior to being deployed to both the European and Pacific theaters. Divisions like the 35th Infantry Division, 78th Infantry Division, and 89th Infantry Division came to Camp Butner prior to heading to Europe. After the war, the camp was used as a major facility for the demobilization and inactivation of Army units returning from combat. Among the units inactivated at the camp were the 3d Infantry Regiment and the 4th Infantry Division. The Camp was also the location of the Battalion Surgeon's Assistant school and had a convalescent hospital for wounded troops that operated much like Walter Reed does today.

First National Bank Building is a historic bank building located at Creedmoor, Granville County, North Carolina. It was built in 1912, and is a two-story, Beaux Arts style brick building. It features raised bands of brick cross the entire first floor front elevation, exploded in sunbursts over the three round-arched openings, and an ornate metal cornice. It housed a bank until 1977.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the United States Department of Justice. FCC Butner is about 25 miles (40 km) northwest of Raleigh, the state capital. It includes the Bureau's largest medical complex, which operates a drug treatment program and specializes in oncology and behavioral science. Among its inmates was Bernie Madoff, who was convicted for perpetrating the largest Ponzi scheme in history. He died at the prison in April 2021.The complex consists of four facilities: Federal Correctional Institution, Butner Low (FCI Butner Low): a low-security facility, opened in 1995. Federal Correctional Institution, Butner Medium I (FCI Butner Medium I): a medium-security facility, opened in 1976 Federal Correctional Institution, Butner Medium II (FCI Butner Medium II): a medium-security facility, opened in 2006 Federal Medical Center, Butner (FMC Butner): a facility which houses inmates of all security levels with health issues, opened in 1995.The complex lies in an unincorporated area on the county line between Durham County to the west and Granville County to the east. On the Durham County side, the portion of the prison is in Mangum Township, while on the Granville County side it is in Dutchville Township.

Mount Energy Historic District is a national historic district located at Mount Energy, Granville County, North Carolina. The district encompasses six contributing buildings in the crossroads community of Mount Energy. They are a Greek Revival style store and Masonic Lodge dated to about 1845, a store from the 1920s, and three sheds. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

It is part of the Butner Federal Correctional Complex and is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the United States Department of Justice. An adjacent satellite prison camp houses minimum-security male inmates.
