Anstey College of Physical Education, founded in 1897 as the Anstey Physical Training College, was a pioneer training college for teachers of girls' physical education, only the second such institution for women in the United Kingdom. Located for most of its history in the Erdington area of Birmingham, England, the college was originally independent but came under the control of Staffordshire education department in 1955 as part of a financial rescue deal. In 1975 it was taken over by Birmingham Polytechnic and renamed the Anstey Department of Physical Education. The Erdington premises remained in use until 1981, when the Anstey Department was transferred to the Edgbaston campus of the polytechnic, before being closed down in 1984.

Highbury Theatre is a non-professional theatre situated in the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, England. It is one of the oldest, established amateur theatres in the city and a founding member of the Little Theatre Guild of Great Britain.

St Edmund Campion Catholic School is a coeducational Catholic secondary school and sixth form located on the corner of Holly Lane and Sutton New Road in the Erdington area of Birmingham, England. In September 1975, Sister Bernadette, headmistress of St. Margaret Clitherow School, Sister Ingrid, headmistress of St. Agnes’ school and Mr. Doherty, Headmaster of St. Thomas of Canterbury handed over their keys to Mr. Loughran, the headmaster of the newly formed St. Edmund Campion School, which opened using the three sites of the constituent schools. Until September 2004, the school was situated on two sites. Works completed in 2005 integrated the campus. In September 2005, the school was granted Specialist Language college status.Previously a voluntary aided school administered by Birmingham City Council, in February 2020 St Edmund Campion Catholic School converted to academy status. The school is now sponsored by the St John Paul II Multi-Academy Company. The school benefits from retreats to Soli House, Ogwen Cottage an outdoor activities centre in Snowdonia, Alton Castle. Members of the student body make annual pilgrimages to Lourdes with the Birmingham Diocese.

Orphanage Road is a road in Erdington and Wylde Green, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. Orphanage Road runs from Erdington Library, just before Erdington High Street, to Penns Lane, Sutton Coldfield and leads to Berwood Farm Rd and Welwyndale Rd. It covers the postcodes of B24 and B72. It was originally named Bell Lane and was renamed after the Orphanage which Josiah Mason built there in 1860 to a design by J.R. Botham. Mason also built almshouses adjacent to the orphanage in 1858. The orphanage included a 250-foot tower, famously scaled by Sir Benjamin Stone to take photographs of the panoramic views over Erdington. The orphanage was formally opened by Mason in 1869 and extended in 1876. The Orphanage building was demolished in 1964, in the mid 20th century, when Victorian architecture was generally not highly valued and Anti-Victorianism was influential. The trustees thought the orphanage was, "outdated and expensive to maintain." The tower was demolished by replacing the stones at the base with wooden posts which were then ignited. The site was sold for housing.

Erdington Abbey Church (grid reference SP112922) on Sutton Road, Erdington, Birmingham, England, is the more usual name of the grade II listed church of Saints Thomas and Edmund of Canterbury. It is the church of a Roman Catholic parish in the Archdiocese of Birmingham served by the Redemptorists. The abbey itself was the adjacent building, now Highclare School.

Highclare School was founded in 1932 and is an independent primary and secondary school located on three sites in the Birmingham area providing children's education from 2 to 18 years.Two sites are located in Sutton Coldfield, with the other being located in nearby Erdington. The Sutton Coldfield facilities are on the Lichfield Road in the Four Oaks area and in the Wylde Green area to the south, which houses the nursery.

Erdington railway station is a railway station serving the Erdington area of Birmingham, England. It is situated on the Redditch/Bromsgrove–Birmingham New Street–Lichfield Cross-City Line. It has 2 platforms. The station was opened in 1862 by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) on Sheep Lane, later known as Station Road.Pedestrian access is via Station Road. Platform 1 and 2 have separate entrances. Platform 1’s entrance being towards the car park and the second being past the tunnel on the other side. When you are in the station, there is no way to switch between platforms without coming out the station. The station is above road level, as the line here is on an embankment. A new passenger shelter on the northbound platform was built and opened in November 2006. The letters LMS can still be seen on the adjacent road bridge. At the foot of the ramp to the southbound platform there is a sculpture by Ronald Rae entitled Insect and Celtic Cross.

Wylde Green railway station is a railway station serving northern Wylde Green and Boldmere in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, West Midlands, England. It is on the Redditch-Birmingham New Street-Lichfield Cross-City Line 6+1⁄2 miles (10.5 km) north east of Birmingham New Street, and is in Centro fare zone 4. The station was opened on 2 June 1862, when the LNWR Birmingham to Sutton Coldfield railway line was completed and later operated by the LMS. The station has a car park. Pedestrian and vehicular access is via Station Road, with pedestrian access also available from Highbridge Road. The platforms are above the former road, but below the latter. Despite the station name, Chester Road railway station is located closer to Wylde Green's shopping centre, The Lanes.

Sutton Vesey is one of the 69 electoral wards in Birmingham, England.Sutton Vesey is one of the four wards that make up the Parliamentary Constituency and council constituency of Sutton Coldfield. The ward lies to the south of Sutton Coldfield town centre and Sutton Park and includes the neighbourhoods of Boldmere, Banners Gate and parts of New Oscott and Wylde Green. It covers an area of 2.48 square miles (6.4 km2). The area is served by Boldmere Library.

Boldmere St. Michaels Women F.C. is an English football club based in Boldmere, Birmingham, who are currently members of the FA Women's National League North. They were promoted at the end of 2021-22 as Champions of Division One Midlands.
