Cityplace/Uptown station

The Cityplace Tower is a 42-story building located at 2711 North Haskell Avenue at North Central Expressway (US 75) in the Cityplace district of Uptown Dallas, Texas (USA). The building is 560 feet (171 m) tall and has 1,400,000 square feet (130,000 m2) of office space. It is also the tallest building in Dallas outside of Downtown.

Cityplace is a TIF District and neighborhood in Old East Dallas, Texas (USA) - near the Uptown area of Dallas, adjacent to the intersection of Central Expressway and Haskell Avenue/Blackburn Street. East of Central Expressway, the neighborhood includes the tree-lined Haskell boulevard and travels past the 42-story Tower at Cityplace. At 42-stories, it is the tallest building in Dallas outside downtown. Also on the east is the newer Cityville high-end apartment complex. The west side Cityplace includes the new-urbanist West Village and the northern end of the Uptown neighborhood.

The Leaning Tower of Dallas was the core of an 11-story building in Dallas, Texas that unexpectedly remained standing and slightly leaning after the demolition of the building it was part of. On February 16, 2020, Lloyd D. Nabors Demolition company dynamited the building to make way for a $2.5 billion mixed-use project. The core remained standing until it was demolished via wrecking ball on March 3. The building quickly became an internet meme and a social media hotspot for selfies. People traveled to Dallas from across Texas to take photos with the core akin to tourist photos taken with the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

The Freedman's Cemetery, or Freemen's Cemetery, was established in 1861 as a burial ground for the early African American population in Dallas, Texas. It was an active burial site from 1869 until 1907, supported by the historic Black settlement of Freeman's town founded by formerly enslaved people (the town was located roughly 1 mile (1.6 km) from Deep Ellum, Dallas).The cemetery was lost sometime after the building of the North Central Expressway in the mid-1940s, which cut through the space. Local authorities had removed the grave stones and covered the cemetery with a lawn to form a city park. In the summer of 1990, the Freedman's Cemetery burial ground was rediscovered when the park was renovated; some 800 marked graves were found and an estimated 1,200 unmarked graves.The Freedman's Cemetery Memorial was created in 1990, to honor those that were buried and provide community healing. The memorial is part of a cemetery tour in Uptown, Dallas, and sits near the Emanu-El Cemetery, the Calvary Cemetery, and the Greenwood Cemetery. It has designation as a Dallas Landmark since 1992, and is part of the State Historic Marker program in Texas since 1993.

The Mondrian, designed by famed Dallas architect Thomas Brink, is a 20-story high-rise located at 3000 Blackburn Street in the Cityplace neighborhood of Oak Lawn, Dallas, Texas, United States. Construction started on the structure in 2003 and the building was completed in 2005, The building is located at the corner of McKinney Avenue and Blackburn Street. A central high-rise tower 20 stories high containing 146 dwelling units anchors the structure's postmodern architectural theme. The tower is flanked by 72 two-story urban loft units. At street level, approximately 20,000 square feet (1,900 m2) of retail shops are incorporated into the Mondrian project. Pedestrian access to the retail areas is provided via upgraded perimeter sidewalks in addition to ground level parking within the building for retail customers. Residents have access to a secured multilevel parking deck and a garden pool amenity area.

The West Village District is a walkable urban village in the Uptown area of Dallas, Texas. West Village is located at the northern edge of Uptown along McKinney Avenue and is bordered by Lemmon Avenue, Cole Avenue, Haskell Drive and Central Expressway. West Village proper has 88 retail, restaurant and entertainment tenants within 244,000 square feet (22,700 m2) and contains approximately 3,600 residential units. It also contains a 240,000 square feet (22,000 m2) office building that previously served as the headquarters of The Richards Group.

North Dallas High School is a public secondary school located in the Oak Lawn area of Dallas, Texas, United States. It enrolls students in grades 9-12 and is a part of the Dallas Independent School District. As of 2017, the principal administrator is Katherine Eska. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency. In 2017, the school earned state distinctions in the areas of Math and Closing Achievement Gaps.

Greenwood Cemetery is privately owned non-denominational cemetery located in the Uptown neighborhood of Dallas, Texas. Founded in 1875 as the Trinity Cemetery, the first burial was a Mrs. Susan Bradford that March. At the time, the cemetery was out of town and surrounded by farmland. By 1896, the cemetery had fallen into disrepair with one local noting: "The fence is down in twenty places, cattle roam all over the graves and wagons use the main street as a common thoroughfare." This prompted the formation of the Greenwood Cemetery Association which took over the maintenance and operation of the cemetery and gave it its current name.

Belmont Park is a neighborhood in Old East Dallas, Texas (USA). The neighborhood is located near the area now known as Cityplace and also near Uptown. The boundaries of the neighborhood are N. Carroll Ave., Coles Manor Pl., Kirby St. and Weldon St. as shown in the City Of Dallas Plat filed April 8, 1944, Recorded in Volume 8 - 126 & 127. It is 2 miles from the center of Downtown Dallas. The neighborhood consists of a collection of houses constructed in 1943 & 1944. The houses were known as GI homes as they were built for soldiers returning from World War II. The houses are built on an area that was once the Belmont Park Golf Course. The neighborhood is surrounded by upscale apartments and retail and is close to restaurants, retail stores and the Arts District. It is one of the few neighborhoods where homes are still available close to downtown Dallas versus apartments.

Republic Center is a mixed-use complex at 300 N. Ervay Street and 325 N. St. Paul Street in the City Center District of downtown Dallas, Texas (USA), adjacent to Thanks-giving Square. The complex is located diagonally across the street from DART's St. Paul Station, which serves its Blue, Red, Orange, and Green light rail lines. It also contains part of the Dallas Pedestrian Network, with shops and restaurants in the lower levels of the building and is connected to the Bullington Truck Terminal.

Uptown is a PID (public improvement district) and a dense upscale neighborhood in Dallas, Texas. Uptown is north of and adjacent to downtown Dallas, and is bordered by US 75 (Central Expressway) on the east, N Haskell Avenue on the northeast, the Katy Trail on the northwest, Bookhout Street and Cedar Springs Road on the west, N Akard Street on the southwest and Spur 366 (Woodall Rodgers Freeway) on the south.Uptown is one of the most pedestrian-friendly areas in all of Texas. It is largely "new urbanist" in scope; the majority of facilities considered "Uptown institutions" are relatively new and were created during the late 20th and early 21st Centuries' new urbanist urban planning movement. Popular with young professionals, mixed-use development is the norm and an increasingly pedestrian culture continues to thrive.

Notre Dame School of Dallas is a Catholic school for children with intellectual disabilities in Uptown Dallas, Texas. It is the only private school in Dallas catering to intellectually disabled children. The target IQ scores are 30–70. Some students have Down syndrome. Its age range is six through 21. It opened in 1963. As of 2015 it had 150 students.The campus is co-located with St. Peter's Church. The school was rebuilt beginning in 2015.
