The Royal Voluntary Service (known as the Women's Voluntary Services (WVS) from 1938 to 1966; Women's Royal Voluntary Service (WRVS) from 1966 to 2004 and WRVS from 2004 to 2013) is a voluntary organisation concerned with helping people in need throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It was founded in 1938 by Stella Isaacs, Marchioness of Reading, as a British women's organisation to recruit women into the Air Raid Precautions (ARP) services to help in the event of War.

Cardiff Gate is a business park development, located on the junction 30 of the M4 motorway and the A4232 north east of Cardiff, South Wales.

Cardiff Gate services (Welsh: Gwasanaethau Porth Caerdydd) is the motorway service station on the junction of the M4 motorway (junction 30) and the A4232, located on the 100-acre (0.40 km2) Cardiff Gate International Business Park, adjacent to Pontprennau, north east of Cardiff, Wales. Originally leased by Granada Ltd., it is now owned by Welcome Break.

St Mellons Rural District is a defunct district council. It was established under the provisions of the Local Government Act 1894 from part of the existing Newport Rural Sanitary District. It comprised the parishes of Bedwas, Bettws, Coedkernew, Duffryn, Graig, Henllys, Machen Lower, Machen Upper, Malpas, Marshfield, Michaelstone-y-Fedw, Peterstone Wentloog, Rogerstone, Rumney, St Brides Wentloog, St Mellons and St Woolos in the administrative county of Monmouthshire. Initially, the St Mellons Rural District Council also administered two parishes in Glamorgan: Llanvedw and Rhydygwern, which had also formed part of the sanitary district. The Glamorgan parishes were annexed to Llandaff and Dinas Powis Rural District in 1895. The Rural District Council comprised a number of councillors and a chairman and initially replaced the local sanitary authorities. Its responsibilities included sanitary services, sewerage, refuse collection, maintaining local roads, cemeteries and parks, licensing of public entertainments, water supply and housing. The council was administered by a number of committees and by appointed officers including a Clerk, Treasurer, Medical Officer of Health, Surveyor and Sanitary Inspector. In 1912 the parishes of Bedwas and Machen Upper were removed from the Rural District to become Bedwas and Machen Urban District. St Mellons RDC was abolished in 1935 and was absorbed by the new Magor and St Mellons Rural District with the exception of St Woolos and parts of Bettws and Malpas which became part of Newport county borough.

Pentwyn (Welsh pronunciation: [pɛnˈtʊi̯n]) is a district, community and electoral ward in the east of Cardiff, Wales, located northeast of the city centre. Llanedeyrn is immediately to the south, Cyncoed to the west, Pontprennau to the north and the Rhymney River forms the eastern border. The population of the ward taken at the 2011 census was 15,634.

Llanrumney Hall (Welsh: Neuadd Llanrhymnu) is Grade II* listed building in Llanrumney, Cardiff, Wales. The Elizabethan mansion was built in 1450, rebuilt in 1852 and refurbished around 1900. Throughout its history it has been a stately home and more recently a pub. In the 1980s, the building fell into disrepair. In recent years a local businessman conducted renovation and repair work, which was completed in 2019.

Corpus Christi Roman Catholic High School (formerly Lady Mary, Welsh: Ysgol Uwchradd Corpus Christi) is a voluntary aided Roman Catholic secondary school located in Lisvane, Cardiff, Wales. The school is co-educational and accepts children aged 11–16. Corpus Christi has traditionally performed well, with consistently good and above-average performance shown during inspections.

Llanrumney (Welsh: Llanrhymni) is a suburb, community and electoral ward in east Cardiff, Wales. Llanrumney was in Monmouthshire until it was incorporated into Cardiff in 1938.

Lisvane (Welsh: Llys-faen) is a community in the north of Cardiff, the capital of Wales, located 5 miles (8 km) north of the city centre. Lisvane is generally considered to be one of the wealthiest residential areas of Wales, with many properties worth in excess of £1 million. Lisvane had 3,319 residents in 2001 and comprises approximately 1,700 dwellings, a local village shop, primary school, community cabin library, park, nursery, parish church, public house, war memorial, Scout hall and community or village hall.

Llanedeyrn (Welsh: Llanedern) is a former village, now a district and community, in the east of the city of Cardiff, Wales, located around 3.5 miles from the city centre. The parish of Llanedeyrn rests on the banks of the river Rhymney and is visible nesting on a hill side above the A48(M), westbound on the approach into Cardiff.

Llanedeyrn High School (Welsh: Ysgol Uwchradd Llanedeyrn) was an 11–16 mixed, community comprehensive school in Llanedeyrn, Cardiff, Wales. It was established in 1970 as the first purpose-built comprehensive school in Wales and closed in 2014.

Cyncoed Methodist Church is a listed place of worship in the suburb of Cyncoed in Cardiff, Wales. Organisationally, it is in the East cluster of the Cardiff Methodist Circuit.The church was built in 1966 and was designed by Alex Gordon, who was to become a prominent architect in south Wales. The building is in the International Modern style that was pioneered by Mies van der Rohe, and is a rectilinear design in glass and buff-coloured brick. The foundation stone was laid on 20 November 1965, and the church was dedicated the following September. A large extension was built to the rear of the church in 1992. The church gained listed status in 2001, with the listing giving as a reason: As an individually accomplished design, Cyncoed Methodist Church helps to define the architectural standard for post-war religious buildings in Wales.
