Bény-sur-Mer (French pronunciation: [beni syʁ mɛʁ] , literally Bény on Sea) is a commune in the Calvados department in the Normandy region, in northwestern France. It lies 5 km south of Bernières-sur-Mer and 13 km north of Caen.

Colomby-sur-Thaon (French pronunciation: [kɔlɔ̃bi syʁ tɑ̃], literally Colomby on Thaon) is a former commune in the Calvados department in the Normandy region in northwestern France. On 1 January 2016, it was merged into the new commune of Colomby-Anguerny.

The Battle of Douvres Radar Station was a military engagement of World War II as part of the Invasion of Normandy, that took place on 17 June 1944. The attack was by British 41 Commando, Royal Marines, the station and area were defended mainly by Luftwaffe ground forces. Preceded by an artillery bombardment and supported by mine-clearing and anti-bunker tanks of 79th Armoured Division, the Royal Marines were able to secure the surrender of the garrison.

Fontaine-Henry (French pronunciation: [fɔ̃tɛn ɑ̃ʁi] ) is a commune in the Calvados department in the Normandy region in northern France. The commune is known for its chateau, rebuilt in the 15th and 16th centuries on the foundations of an earlier fortress built by Guillaume de Tilly, sieur de Fontaine-Henry, named in honour of his cousin Henry II of England. The château is still lived in by the descendants of its early owners, the comte and comtesse de Olliamson.

The Bény-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery (French: Cimetière militaire canadien de Bény-sur-Mer) is a burial ground containing predominantly Canadian soldiers killed during the early stages of the Battle of Normandy in the Second World War. It is located in, and named after, Bény-sur-Mer, in the Calvados department, near Caen, in lower Normandy. As is typical of war cemeteries in France, the grounds are landscaped and kept. Contained within the cemetery is a cross of sacrifice, a monument typical of memorials designed by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Canadian soldiers killed later, in the Battle of Normandy, are buried south-east of Caen, in the Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian War Cemetery, located in Cintheaux.

Douvres-la-Délivrande (French pronunciation: [duvʁ la delivʁɑ̃d] ) is a commune in the Calvados department in the Normandy region in northwestern France. The name was simply Douvres until 1961, when it was expanded to refer to the basilica Notre-Dame de la Délivrande ("Our Lady of Deliverance"), located in the town, a site of pilgrimage.

La Délivrande war cemetery is a Second World War cemetery of Commonwealth soldiers in France, located 14 km (8.7 mi) north of Caen, Normandy. The cemetery contains 943 commonwealth war graves and 180 German war graves.
