W. W. Samuell High School

Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep is a coeducational, Catholic, college preparatory school and a member of the Cristo Rey Network that follows the work-study model of education. The first criterion for admission is financial need, and the school is designed for students who cannot otherwise afford a college prep education.

Scyene ( sye-EEN) was a small town in East Central Dallas County, Texas, United States, 10 mi (16 km) east-southeast of downtown Dallas. It is now a neighborhood in east Dallas, just west of Mesquite. The town's location was bounded by South Sam Houston and Cheyenne roads on the east, Military Parkway on the north, North Prairie Creek (the creek, not the road) on the west, and Bruton Road on the south. The center of the town was located at the intersection of Scyene Road and North Saint Augustine Drive (9600 Scyene Rd. & 3000 N. St. Augustine Dr.). Scyene was officially established in 1854 when a post office was built in the city. Prior to that the town had been called either Thorpville or Prairie Creek. The town name was suggested by James Beeman with the spelling of "Seine," but residents first spelled it "Sceyne," which eventually changed to Scyene. The town was notable for residents Jesse and Frank James, Cole and Bob Younger, and Myra Shirley, later known as Belle Starr, who moved to Scyene during the Civil War, in 1864. At its zenith, in 1873, Scyene had a population of approximately 300, a Masonic Lodge, a wagon factory, and six saloons. That same year, however, the Texas and Pacific Railway bypassed the town due to its refusal to build a depot at its own expense, causing a slow decline of the town into today's Dallas neighborhood and giving rise to the city of Mesquite, where the railroad built its own depot. In the mid to late 1950s, a developer built homes and shopping in the area called Riverway Estates/Bruton Terrace, named for the homes lining the water formed by the lake known as Lake June. While the dam on Prairie Creek is now open, and the bulk of the lake has dwindled, the lake still exists. The eastern portion of this development is located in what was once part of the town of Scyene. Scyene was annexed to Dallas in 1950.

Buckner station is a DART light rail station located in southeast Dallas, Texas for service on the Green Line. The station opened as part of the Green Line's expansion in December 2010. Buckner Station serves as the southern terminus of the Green Line. It is located in southeast Dallas at the intersection of Elam Road and Buckner Boulevard in the vicinity of the Pleasant Grove neighborhood.

Elam or Elam Station is a settlement in Southeast Dallas, Texas, United States, which was first settled in 1881 and acquired a post office April 9, 1884 with the name of Elam Station. On September 7, 1899, the name was changed to Elam. The Post Office continued to function until March 15, 1904, when mail was serviced by Rylie. The area was annexed to Dallas in 1959. Noted for its skating rink (Twilight Time Skating Palace), Bowling Alley (Buckner Bowl), and Crawford Park. it is now host to the new 75227 Post Office and Dart Station.

West Mesquite High School is a high school in Mesquite, Texas, United States. The school, which serves grades 9 through 12, is a part of the Mesquite Independent School District. The school serves the western portion of Mesquite and most of the MISD portion of Balch Springs. The school mascot is the Wrangler. The school is located near the Mesquite Championship Rodeo at the Mesquite Arena, and was built on land once owned by the Rodeo. Memorial Stadium, is on campus along with the Mesquite Tower which broadcasts the school district's own radio station, KEOM.

Mesquite Tower is a free-standing lattice tower located in Mesquite, Texas, United States, that is 510 feet (155 m) tall. It is the tallest structure in the city and a well known local landmark. The tower features a unique design called a Landmark or Adelphon tower and was built in 1990. It stands between West Mesquite High School and Memorial Stadium. Owned by the Mesquite Independent School District, it is a 61,000 watt radio tower used by the radio station KEOM which is operated by the school district.

KEOM (88.5 FM) is a non-commercial educational high school radio station based in Mesquite, Texas. It is operated by the Mesquite Independent School District and broadcasts to the greater Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. KEOM broadcasts in HD Radio.

Skyline High School is a public magnet school in the Buckner Terrace area of Dallas, in the U.S. state of Texas. Skyline is a part of the Dallas Independent School District (DISD) and serves grades 9 through 12. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.

Memorial Stadium is a stadium in Mesquite, Texas. It was completed in 1976 and is located on the campus of West Mesquite High School, next to Mesquite Tower. The field is primarily used for football, and all five High Schools in Mesquite share use of the field. The stadium has a capacity of 19,400 people, making it the largest high school football stadium in Texas. It's the largest stadium in Mesquite, followed by EH Hanby Stadium, a 11,950-capacity football and soccer stadium. Due to its size and central location, the field is often used as a neutral-site for Texas High School Football playoff games. UIL Marching competitions are frequently hosted as well.

H. Grady Spruce High School is a public school in the Spruce Square Development of Southeast Dallas in the state of Texas. H. Grady Spruce High School, which covers grades 9–12, is a part of the Dallas Independent School District. Spruce serves several sections of southeast Dallas, including Balch Springs. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.

Lake June station or Lake June Road station is an intermodal transit station in Dallas, Texas. It serves DART Light Rail's Green Line as well as buses. The station initially opened as Lake June Transit Center, as a bus-only facility in 2003. As part of the Green Line's expansion in December 2010, new light rail platforms opened.

Mesquite Arena is a 7,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Mesquite, Texas, United States. It is home to the Mesquite Championship Rodeo and the Mesquite Outlaws indoor soccer team of the Major Arena Soccer League.The arena has been holding events since 1985. The types of events in the modern age currently include rodeos, monster truck wars, boxing, and concerts. However, the arena is also available for other major events and can host groups of people up to 7,000. From early June to the end of August, however, the arena is occupied by the Mesquite Championship Rodeo and is not available then. Otherwise, though, the arena can be reserved for such events as business meetings, family reunions, trade shows, holiday parties, weddings and receptions, birthday parties, and company training.
