Mentone Grammar School

Mentone is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 21 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Kingston local government area. Mentone recorded a population of 13,197 at the 2021 census.It is known locally for Mentone Beach, which extends alongside Beaumaris Bay from the cliffs in Beaumaris and ends at Warrigal Road where it meets Parkdale. Mentone is associated with the Heidelberg School of Australian artists.

St Bede's College is a Catholic secondary school for boys in the Melbourne suburb of Mentone. The college was founded in 1938 by the De La Salle Brothers, a religious order based on the teachings of Jean-Baptiste de la Salle, and is a member of the Associated Catholic Colleges and the Council of International Schools. The college has two campuses: one in Mentone that takes students from years 7 to 12, and one in Bentleigh East that takes students from years 7 to 9.

The City of Mordialloc was a local government area about 20 kilometres (12 mi) south of Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria, Australia, on the eastern side of Port Phillip. The city covered an area of 13.57 square kilometres (5.24 sq mi), and existed from 1920 until 1994.

Mentone railway station is located on the Frankston line in Victoria, Australia. It serves the south-eastern Melbourne suburb of Mentone, and it opened on 19 December 1881 as Balcombe Road. It was renamed Balcombe on 1 September 1882, and was renamed Mentone on 7 January 1884. It is classed as a Premium Station, and it is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register.

Parkdale is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 23 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Kingston local government area. Parkdale recorded a population of 12,308 at the 2021 census.It is situated between the suburbs of Mentone and Mordialloc, and is located on the Frankston railway line. Parkdale was founded in 1920, and named for early homesteader William Parker when engineers decided to build a railway station alongside a cluster of five bayside shops. Parkdale Post Office opened on 6 January 1921.Parkdale's local library, Kingston Library, is located on Parkers Road adjacent to Parkdale station. Parkdale is also a noted beach-side suburb. The beach is a 750-metre walk from the station.

Beaumaris Bay ( bew-MAR-is) is a bay in the east of Port Phillip, Victoria, Australia. Beaumaris Bay commences at the cliffs at Rickett's Point in the south of the suburb of Beaumaris, then stretches alongside Mentone Beach in Mentone through a string of suburban beaches south to Frankston. The northern shore is covered by Bayside and Kingston councils and the southern reaches are in Frankston council. The main streams and tributaries supplying the bay are Mordialloc Creek, Patterson River, and Kananook Creek.

Mentone Girls’ Secondary College is a government secondary school for girls located in Melbourne's southeast beachside suburb of Mentone, Victoria. Over 1100 students are enrolled throughout Years 7 to 12, with students transitioning to the college in Year 7 from over 50 primary schools throughout Victoria.

The Mordialloc-Cheltenham Community Hospital was a hospital in the suburb of Parkdale, Victoria, Australia. Residents of the Cities of Mordialloc and Chelsea, Victoria worked towards a community hospital from the late 1930s. Having a community hospital meant residents who required routine surgery did not need to travel into Melbourne to the larger established hospitals. This was important at a time when few people had their own transport. For many years the Mordialloc Carnival Committee contributed to the cost of building the hospital, with one of its contributions to the ‘opening day’ appeal amounting to one thousand pounds, adding to the several thousand already committed Construction work commenced on the Mordialloc-Cheltenham Community Hospital in 1950. on a site between Booth St and Carrier Ave on the Nepean Highway in Parkdale. The hospital opened in 1953 and serviced the community until 1996. On 1 August 1995, the hospital became a part of the Southern Health Care Network.The former hospital site is now the main location of Central Bayside Community Health Services. and so is still associated with Community Health.
