St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church is a historic Lutheran church at Broad and Mullberry Streets in Lancaster, Ohio. It was built in 1879 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The John Sherman Birthplace is a historic house museum at 137 East Main Street in Lancaster, Ohio. Also known as the Sherman House Museum, it is notable as the childhood home of John Sherman (1823-1900), politician and statesman and his older brother, General William T. Sherman (1820-1891), Union Army. The museum is primarily devoted to the General. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1964, primarily for its association with John Sherman, namesake of the Sherman Antitrust Act. The museum is operated by the Fairfield Heritage Association, which offers tours seasonally.

Lancaster Historic District is a historic district in Lancaster, Ohio. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.The Lancaster historic district includes the historic central business district of Lancaster, including most of the original town as laid out in 1800. It includes two previously existing local historic districts: the West Main Street Historic District and the Square 13 Historic District. The district contains numerous historic homes and buildings that were built in more than a dozen diverse architectural styles. Several museum houses are located within the district including the Sherman House Museum, The Georgian Museum, and the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio housed in the Reese-Peters mansion.

The Fairfield County Courthouse is located at 224 East Main Street in Lancaster, Ohio. The courthouse is the second for the county.

The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption is a Minor Basilica of the Catholic Church located in Lancaster, Ohio, United States, and a parish church of the Diocese of Columbus. The parish was founded in 1818 and the current church building was completed in 1864. When the Holy See declared the church a minor basilica in 2022, it became the 91st in the United States, the seventh in Ohio, and the first in the Diocese of Columbus.

Lancaster High School is a secondary-level public high school located in Lancaster, Ohio, and is the only high school within the Lancaster City Schools district. The current building was opened during the fall of 1964. Currently, the building houses grades 9–12. Lancaster High School offers college prep, honors, AP, average, and lower-level classes and houses its own career and technical education (vocational) center, as well as the Stanbery Career Center campus located in Downtown Lancaster.

Fairfield Christian Academy is a private Christian school in Lancaster, Ohio. Established in 1998, the school serves students from preschool to twelfth grade.

River Valley Mall is an enclosed shopping mall serving Lancaster, Ohio, United States. It was built in 1987 by Glimcher Realty Trust. The mall's anchor stores are Cinemark Theatres, Dick's Sporting Goods, and JCPenney. There are 2 vacant anchor stores that were once Elder-Beerman and Sears. It is owned by Namdar Realty Group.

WFCO is a contemporary Christian radio station licensed to Lancaster, Ohio, broadcasting on 90.9 MHz FM, and is owned by River Radio Ministries.WFCO currently airs a variety of contemporary Christian music from the mid-2000s to today. Previously, the station aired classic Christian music from the 1970s, '80s, and '90s, and also aired Christian Talk and Teaching programs. WFCO began broadcasting in 1988, and initially operated only 12 hours a day, running 200 watts. WFCO was originally owned by Fairfield Christian Academy, and the station was known as "Fairfield's Christian Outreach". WFCO began 24-hour operations in the early 1990s. In 2002, WFCO moved to downtown Lancaster, added more local and musical programming and became known as "Peaceful 90.9 FM". In 2006, WFCO increased its power to 1,200 watts. In 2007, WFCO adopted the branding "Refreshing 90.9 FM". In 2013, the station began a more uniform schedule where most talk programs were in the morning hours and music was played in the afternoon and evening hours. One exception to this was WFCO's public affairs show Community Accent that aired live in the morning and replayed in the evening. The station also broadcast a variety of high school sports from area schools. This included everything from basketball, baseball, football, soccer, softball, volleyball to even one track meet a year. On November 1, 2019, River Radio Ministries announced the acquisition of WFCO from Lancaster Educational Broadcasting Foundation. The station was converted to River Radio's contemporary Christian "The River" format. The sale, at a price of $235,000, was consummated on February 4, 2020.

Its name is a reference to the Fairfield area of the original Lancaster. Fairfield County is part of the Columbus, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area.
