In June 2006 there was a scandal after some newspapers reported, that some neo-nazis had burned the book The Diary of a Young Girl (by Anne Frank) at a public celebration of Solstice on 24 June. Pritzien Mayor Friedrich Harwig had supported the right winged club Heimat-Bund Ostelbien e.V., which had organized the celebration. The club had been founded by former members of the NPD.

Pömmelte is a village and a former municipality in the district Salzlandkreis, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 January 2010, it is part of the town Barby. The modern settlement is first documented in 1292 and probably was founded not too long before, probably by Sorbian settlers. Prehistorical dwelling structures, dating from 2800 - 2200 BC and associated with the Bell Beaker and Unetic cultures, have also been identified.During the Bronze Age, around the late third millennium BC, it was the site of an astronomical observatory with a function similar to Stonehenge, built in a wooden construction. It probably was a ritual center, without a permanent settlement. With radiocarbon dates indicating 2300 B.C. for what appears to be the earliest phase of the ritual center, speculation among anthropologists in 2018 is considering recognition of a cultural tie broadly throughout Europe and the British Isles associating the traditions from which these structures arose to those much earlier, in places such as such as the 7000-year-old Goseck circle in Germany.

The Hermann Beims Estate (German: Hermann-Beims-Siedlung) is a social housing project of the 1920s in Magdeburg, Germany. It is named after Hermann Beims (1863–1931), mayor of Magdeburg, who held office from 1919 until 1931. It was designed by Bruno Taut, Magdeburg's city architect between 1926 and 1929.
