Soulard ( SOO-lard) is a historic neighborhood in St. Louis, Missouri. It is the home of Soulard Farmers Market, the oldest farmers' market west of the Mississippi River. Soulard is one of ten certified local historic districts in the city of St. Louis.

St. John Nepomuk Parish Historic District is centered on the Catholic parish of St. John Nepomuk in the Soulard neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri, United States. The historic district is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

There are restaurants and entertainment in the adjacent Soulard and Lafayette Square neighborhoods. Three bus routes provide a commute downtown or throughout the City. There are three churches and several neighborhood businesses. There is also 1 6th-12th Grade High School, McKinley Classical Leadership Academy

Peabody–Darst–Webbe is a neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. It is also called the Near Southside neighborhood. Peabody–Darst–Webbe is an area bounded by S. Tucker Blvd. on the east, Chouteau Ave. on the north, Dolman Street on the west, and the I-55/I-44 interchange on the south.

Soulard Farmers Market is the oldest operating public market in St. Louis, Missouri in the Soulard neighborhood, and the only one operated by the city. It has a reputation of being the oldest public market in the United States west of the Mississippi River.

Lafayette Square Historic District is a historic district roughly bounded by Hickory and 18th Sts., Jefferson and Lafayette Aves. in St. Louis, Missouri. Buildings in the district include a department store, a single dwelling, a public park, and a specialty store. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. A boundary increase in 1986 added an area roughly bounded by Chouteau Ave., Dolman, Lafayette Ave., and S. Eighteenth St. and Vail Pl. and MacKay Pl. Buildings in the boundary increase include single and multiple dwellings, a manufacturing facility and a specialty store.

Lafayette Square is a neighborhood in St. Louis, Missouri, which is bounded on the north by Chouteau Avenue, on the south by Interstate 44, on the east by Truman Parkway, and on the west by South Jefferson Avenue. It surrounds Lafayette Park (see below), which is the city's oldest public park — created by local ordinance in 1836. The neighborhood is one of the oldest in St. Louis. When it was developed, it was one of the most fashionable places to live. It declined after a tornado devastated the area in 1896. Later, industrial encroachment and highway construction further weakened the neighborhood. Since the 1970s, St. Louis residents have been buying and renovating the older homes in Lafayette Square. As of 2006, most of the homes have been restored and there are many shops and restaurants.

McKinley Classical Leadership Academy (also known as McKinley High School) is a magnet middle and high school for gifted and talented students in St. Louis, Missouri. It is part of the St. Louis Public Schools district. McKinley opened in 1904 as the first comprehensive public high school in south St. Louis and closed in 1988. The school has been operating as a magnet middle school since the 1990s. It reopened as a high school in 2007. It graduated nine students in May of 2011.

In 2000, Lift For Life Academy (LFLA) became the first independent charter school to open in the City of St. Louis. The academy, located in what was originally the Manufacturers Bank and Trust building, then later a Mercantile Bank, was established to provide an education to middle school students. It is now serving nearly 800 students in grades K–12. The elementary school is a half block south at 1920 South 7th Street. The idea for the academy grew out of Cohen's other nonprofit agency, Lift For Life Gym, established in 1988 as a weightlifting organization for at-risk children located on the north side of St. Louis, 14th & Cass.
