Albert Barracks

The Old Choral Hall is a historic choral hall located on Symonds Street, Auckland, New Zealand and registered as a category 1 building by Heritage New Zealand. Constructed in 1872 to a neoclassical design by Edward Mahoney to serve the Auckland Choral Society. The building functioned as a public hall and concert venue until the opening of the Auckland Town Hall in 1911. Shortly before the First World War the Auckland University College purchased the building and expanded it via construction of two wings. The University of Auckland continue to own and use the building for universitary use. Following the Napier earthquake in 1931, the portico was removed over concerns it could collapse. The building is intended to have the portico restored in 2025 as part of a restoration and seismic strengthening.

The Old Arts Building, University of Auckland (now known as The Clocktower) is a New Zealand Category 1 Historic Place built from 1923 to 1926.

Te Pūnaha Matatini Centre for Complex Systems and Networks (known as Te Pūnaha Matatini – 'the meeting place of many faces') is a New Zealand Centre of Research Excellence that focusses on interpreting data about the environment, economy, and society to inform policy decision-making and public debate. Funded by the New Zealand Government, it is hosted by the University of Auckland and works in partnership with other universities and organisations, including Manaaki Whenua – Landcare Research. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Te Pūnaha Matatini developed mathematical models within different scenarios and provided data to inform the response of the New Zealand Government to the pandemic. Shaun Hendy, David Hayman and Michael Plank were among the high-profile members of the organisation who regularly commented on the COVID-19 pandemic in the news media at the time. The leadership of Te Pūnaha Matatini investigators has supported the setting up of independent research programmes, including Covid-19 Modelling Aotearoa and The Disinformation Project.

The University of Auckland (UoA) is a public research university based in Auckland, New Zealand. It is the largest, most comprehensive and highest-ranked university in New Zealand and consistently places among the top 100 universities in the QS World University Rankings. The institution was established in 1883 as a constituent college of the University of New Zealand. Originally it was housed in a disused courthouse. Today, the University of Auckland is New Zealand's largest university by enrolment, hosting about 40,000 students on five Auckland campuses. The City Campus, in the Auckland CBD, has the bulk of the students and faculties. There are eight faculties, including a law school, as well as three associated research institutes.

Phoenix Foundry, often printed as Phœnix, was an engineering company in Auckland from 1861 to 1952. By 1900 it was on the verge of bankruptcy, but also Auckland's largest engineering works, supplying a wide range of goods and often leading in the design of equipment used to exploit the country's resources, such as timber and flax mills, crushers for gold ore and locomotives, pumps, cement and gas works and steamers. The foundry started with engineer, George Fraser, and a handful of employees, but grew to employ hundreds and operated under several names, including Fraser and Tinne and George Fraser & Sons Ltd.

The University of Auckland Faculty of Arts is a public university that offers courses in the arts located on Symonds Street, in Auckland. The faculty is seen as being the best of its kind in New Zealand and in 2007, it was ranked 32nd in the world.

Old Government House is the former residence of the Governor of New Zealand in Auckland, New Zealand.

A statue of Queen Victoria was erected at Albert Park, Auckland, in 1899. The second monument to Queen Victoria in New Zealand, the bronze statue was funded by public donations encouraged by Auckland politicians and the New Zealand Herald in celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Following applications from various British and New Zealand artists, the statue was commissioned to British portrait sculptor Francis John Williamson. It was one of nine variants of his 1887 statue erected at the Royal College of Surgeons, allegedly a favourite of the future Edward VII. The statue is approximately 4.5 m (15 ft) tall including the granite pedestal, small compared to other statues of Victoria in New Zealand. Erected on the former location of the Albert Barracks, the statue was a central point for various imperial and patriotic observances, such as Empire Day, which gradually declined over the twentieth century. Later in the century, it became a frequent site for protests due to cultural associations with imperialism and colonialism.

The Sir George Grey Statue in Albert Park, Auckland commemorates George Grey, the third Governor of New Zealand and 11th Premier of New Zealand. The statue, sculpted by Francis John Williamson, was unveiled on 21 December 1904 by the Governor, William Plunket, 5th Baron Plunket.

The South African War Artillery Memorial is a commemorative monument located in Albert Park, Auckland. Unveiled on 25 October 1902 by Premier Richard John Seddon, it honours the New Zealand artillerymen who served and died during the South African War (1899–1902). The memorial is unique among New Zealand’s South African War monuments as it depicts an artillery trooper rather than the more common representation of mounted riflemen. Featuring a life-sized marble statue and an inscribed drinking fountain, the memorial was erected by returned soldiers of the Fourth and Fifth Contingents of the 1st New Zealand Battery. The statue was listed on the Heritage New Zealand list of historic sites as a Category 2 place (reflecting places of "historical or cultural heritage significance or value") in 1981.

University House is a 19th-century building in Auckland, New Zealand, that originally served as the synagogue for the city's Jewish population. The building is situated on Princes Street, adjacent to Albert Park, and is now occupied by the University of Auckland.

The Owen G. Glenn Building is the home of the Business School of the University of Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand, completed in late 2007. It is named after Owen G. Glenn ONZM, an expatriate New Zealand businessman who has donated to a number of philanthropic causes, as well as giving NZ$7.5 million to the business school.The building has 11 levels to serve the teaching and research activities of the school, and has been described as being "a series of layered sinuous blades anchored by a central atrium."The lowest levels feature teaching, learning and administrative spaces, while the higher floors contain offices for 287 staff, 80% of whom have individual offices. The basement of the building contains 1000 parking spaces.
