Gillsvannet

Justvik or Gjusvik is a village and district in the municipality of Kristiansand in Vest-Agder county, Norway. Its population (as of January 2014) is 2,770. The village of Justvik is located on the west shore of the Topdalsfjorden, just north of the lake Gillsvannet. Before the large municipal merger with Kristiansand in 1965, the Justvik area was part of the old municipality of Tveit, while the Justnes and Eidsbukta areas immediately to the south belonged to Oddernes municipality. Justvik has both older housing and several housing estates which were built during the economic boom from the mid-1960s to the mid-1980s. Within the village is Justvik Church, Justvik School (for elementary and middle school students), sports facilities, and a grocery store. There are several neighborhoods within the district of Justvik: Bleget, Greppestølåsen, Justneshalvøya, Justvik, Jærnesheia, and Kvernhusheia.

Gimlekollen NLA College (Norwegian: NLA Mediehøgskolen Gimlekollen) is a private branch institution of NLA University College located in Gimlekollen in Kristiansand, Norway. It focuses on journalism, media, and communication. The school was established in 1981, became a college in 1996, and was affiliated with NLA University College on January 1, 2013. NLA University College is owned by six Christian organizations and a church community, and it is based on Christian values. The college is accredited by the Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and is open to anyone regardless of life orientation.The institution offers a bachelor's degrees in journalism, IT and communications, intercultural communication, and communication and life orientation, as well as an English-language master's degree in global journalism. The institution, which has about 200 students, educates 10 to 20% of all journalists in Norway. NLA University College also operates the company Damaris Norge through a special framework; it is primarily associated with communication and philosophy of life. Damaris Norge is also located in Gimlekollen in Kristiansand.The college is part of the Gimlekollen Media Center, which also includes the production companies Sanden Media and Norea Mediemisjon.

Justvik Church (Norwegian: Justvik kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Kristiansand Municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the village of Justvik, just north of the centre of the city of Kristiansand. It is one of the churches for the Oddernes parish which is part of the Kristiansand domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The tan brick church was built in a rectangular design in 1996 using plans drawn up by the architect Ernst Aukland. The church seats about 275 people. The church was consecrated on 29 December 1996 by the Bishop.

Gimlekollen is a district in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It is a part of the borough of Lund. The district of Justvik lies to the north, the district of Lund (centrum) lies to the west and southwest, and the Topdalsfjorden lies to the east. NLA Media college is located in Gimlekollen. The lakes Vollevannet and Gillsvannet lie in the district.

Vollevannet is a freshwater lake in the municipality of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. The 0.15-square-kilometre (37-acre) lies in the district of Gimlekollen in the borough of Lund, and the surrounding residential area is also called Vollevannet. The lake lies along the European route E18 highway at the exit for the Vest-Agder Museum Kristiansand and Ålefjær (county road 452). Historically, the lake was used as a reservoir for the city's drinking water. The lake is held back by two dams, and there is a small, sandy beach at the northeast end of the lake. The lake has perch in it.

Presteheia is a neighborhood in the city of Kristiansand (town) which lies in the municipality of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Lund in the district of Gimlekollen. It is located to the west of Bjørndalssletta, north of Oddemarka, and east of Gimlemoen. The neighborhood developed after the year 2000 has many "rekkehus" and terrace blocks. The residents of the area are both young families and elderly people. The view from Presteheia is magnificent overlooking the borough of Lund, the University of Agder, and the downtown Kvadraturen area. You can see both Oksoy and the island of Odderøya from the top of Presteheia.

Vest-Agder Museum Kristiansand or simply Kristiansand Museum (formerly Vest-Agder Fylkesmuseum) was founded in 1903 and is located in Kristiansand, Norway. Kristiansand Museum consists of a main building with collections and 40 old buildings, grouped by where they previously stood.

Oddernes Church (Norwegian: Oddernes kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Kristiansand Municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the district of Lund in the borough of Lund in the city of Kristiansand. It is one of the churches for the Oddernes parish which is part of the Kristiansand domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, stone church was built in a long church design around the year 1040 using plans drawn up by unknown architect. This makes it the oldest building in the city of Kristiansand. The church seats about 395 people.The chancel has rubble walls and a semi-circular apse, testifying to the church's medieval origins. The newer additions such as the tower are made out of wood. The church was the main church for the old municipality of Oddernes which existed from 1838 until 1965. North of the church is a parish house.

Oddernes is a former municipality that was located in the old Vest-Agder county in Norway. The 103-square-kilometre (40 sq mi) municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1964. The administrative centre was the village of Lund on the east side of the river Otra near where Lund Church is located. The former area of the municipality makes up the area just west of the urban town of Kristiansand within the municipality of Kristiansand in Agder county. The old municipality encircled the town of Kristiansand, and it included the villages such as Flekkerøy, Vågsbygd, Slettheia, Lund, Strai, Mosby, and Justvik. Today, the town of Kristiansand has a borough named Oddernes, but it has very different boundaries than the old municipality had.

The Oddernes stone (Oddernessteinen) is a rune stone from Oddernes Church at Oddernes in Kristiansand, Vest-Agder, Norway. The stone was originally just in the church yard east of the church. In 1990 it was moved into the church porch.

Gimle is a neighbourhood in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. It's located in the borough of Lund. It is located near the neighborhoods of Oddemarka and Presteheia. The neighborhood of Kjøita lies to the southwest and the neighborhood of Marvika lies to the southeast. The oldest building in Kristiansand, Oddernes Church, as well as the Agder Natural History Museum and Botanical Garden, the Kristiansand campus of the University of Agder, the Kristiansand Cathedral School, the Gimle videregående skole (high school), and the Gimle sports hall are located within the neighborhood of Gimle.The European Route E18 passes through Gimle, for the most part in a shallow tunnel under the neighbourhood. Gimle was the location for the E18's toll plaza of the Kristiansand Toll Ring until this was removed in 2007. Norwegian County Road 1 follows the Otra River along the western edge of Gimle.

Kristiansand Cathedral School (Kristiansand katedralskole Gimle), known in Latin as Schola Christiansandensis, is a high school in Kristiansand, Agder, Norway. It is the oldest high school on the southern coast of Norway, having been founded in 1686. Originally, the school was located near the cathedral in the center of the town of Kristiansand. Although it represents an old institution, Katta is a modern school, offering courses in general and business studies, as well as in health and care. It has an exclusive collection of paintings donated by former student Reidar Wennesland, and some antique books.
